3 am roll call!
I’m up but not entirely sure why. V woke about an hour ago, nursed, and fell back asleep as usual. But when I took him back to bed he was super restless and noisy. Also I was starving. Like if he were sleeping I could have ignored it enough to also sleep but he wasn’t.
So I finally went downstairs and ate two oatmeal cookies and had a protein shake (bonus I found my UpSpring milk boosting powder from DD and added that).
Of course he started screaming as soon as I left him so now we’re rocking and *kind of* nursing but mostly he’s just wide awake and noisy and I’m very annoyed and would like to go back to sleep sometime soon.

I’m here. S likes to give me false hope of a fair nights sleep. She’ll alternate nights being up every 3-4 hrs with every 1.5-2hrs. My poor nips were starting to turn a corner but now are so sore from being attacked

My poor nips were starting to turn a corner but now are so sore from being attacked Solidarity. I still haven’t totally figured out when he’s wanting to nurse because he’s hungry versus wanting to suck for a few minutes to help himself fall asleep. The latter times are when my nips really take a beating.

Present. I’m having some serious night sweats. Every time I wake up, my pajamas, sheets, duvet, are soaked. I’m going to have to wash our bedding tomorrow and start sleeping on a towel.

CharlieB that has been me tonight too. Like my hair was drenched at one point. I was up at 2 and now again at 5. Baby girl was fussy at 4 and I kept playing the reinsert the paci game.

CharlieB after my first pregnancy no one ever told me to expect the night sweats... I legit thought I was dying or something. This time around a took a few chuck pads from the hospital to line the bed.

+1 to the sweats. It’s so gross. TashaLa that was genius grabbing the bed pads from the hospital.

3:30 check in. Our last stretch was just shy of 4 hours. It was harder than usual getting up for this. I kept hoping he would magically fall back asleep.

I slept through my alarm earlier and baby girl didn't wake up so I got about 5hours of sleep, which is the longest stretch I've had in a while. Of course I can't really enjoy it because I worry about her and she isn't supposed to go that long between feeds right now .

Up pumping and feeding. I'm very thankful for hands-free pumping bras so that I can do both at the same time. Idk how people pump without a bra. Also, you are super woman for pumping and nursing!

Hoping to work on latching her back on and starting our transition away from the pump and bottles soon! Still super woman! Pumping is the worst.

Anyone else up? We got in bed a little early and I was hoping for a good first stretch but we are you after just 2ish yours. I'm tired. Hopefully this will be a short wake up.

tngrl3 I am. We made it from midnight to almost 3 which isn’t bad. I think I must have had some adrenaline the first few days at home because now that we’ve been home a few days I am so so so tired. And this c section recovery is still kind of kicking my butt.

strawberrykiki the csection recovery can be hard, especially days like 4-5. I'm sure since you had a long labor on top of major surgery it is extra tough. Eww ach day fees better though. Up again now at 430. I feel a nap in my future at some point today.

We have actually had two pretty good nights in a row after several crappy ones. Last night he wouldn’t settle down to sleep until midnight but then he slept for 5 hours. I’ll take it!
Sorry for not checking in while we were up. I think I need to stay off my phone now during MOTN feedings because the light/stimulation makes it harder for me to fall back asleep, which sucks during the times V seems to wake, eat for 10 minutes and go right back down.

DD2 cluster fed from 630 until almost midnight last night. Then she slept until 530a! I of course kept waking up to check on her. My boobs didn't appreciate the long stretch either but oh well. My other kids of course decided they needed to get up at 6 so it's an early start to the day around here.

tngrl3 whew I hope there’s a nap somewhere in there for you today. We had a pretty good night. It was my first night sleeping back in our room. I was so sore from surgery I couldn’t get into our bed and have been sleeping on the couch. I’m still sore but I need my bed. Finn was up a couple times. He just didn’t want to go to sleep last night. I just tried to feed him and he’s passed out cold so I think we are just going to roll with it and get a little more rest. Hope everyone got some rest last night!

B slept in his bassinet last night, which means that I actually spent the entire night in my bedroom (aside from nursing in B’s room). I let him go 3 hours between feedings last night, and he seemed to nurse better when he was a bit hungrier and more rested.
Now I’m going to take advantage of some peace and quiet before DS1 wakes up to address our birth announcements.

I’m the same way. Getting on my phone helps me stay awake for feeds but then it takes me forever to fall back asleep 😏.

CharlieB I didn’t even think about birth announcements. Are you using Shutterfly or something like that to make them?

Not CharlieB but I did them for both of my other kids because they were early and lots of people couldn't come visit at first. Plus I have some older extended family that doesn't use FB and live far away. I will probably do one this time too. I used Shutterfly for them and was pleased with the results.

Also not CharlieB but we did announcements for all three kids. I use Snapfish. They always have good deals and their customer service is A+.

CharlieB I didn’t even think about birth announcements. Are you using Shutterfly or something like that to make them? Yep! We used Shutterfly this time around. I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out, and it wasn’t terribly pricey with their usual promos/coupons. Now I just have to get them into the mailbox.

B has been wide awake and nursing for nearly two hours. Maybe this is the beginning of his 3-week growth spurt? I’m regretting my missed nap this afternoon.

It’s not the middle of the night but feels like it 😴 Finn has been nursing for hours. His eyes start to close and then nope he won’t let himself sleep. He cries when we stop nursing. MH went to sleep in the guest room because he has to go back to work tomorrow. I think I’m going to be rocking in this chair nursing all night. I’m so tired!

Add us to the never ending nursing evening. Abby just went settle either. It is past midnight and I haven't been to bed yet. I'm so tired. My nips are so sore. I was hoping I could work on her latch but her TT keeps making late hinges painful and shallow so looks like it needs to be clipped.
