That sucks joelies ! Did you get a walking boot or do you get to use a knee scooter? I'm really upset I opted out of the knee scooter with my achilles. Missed opportunity for sure.

It's fractured. I think I'm in shock, I really didn't see that coming. Shit! Is it in your foot or your ankle? Ankle. No major displacement at least. They want to check it out in another week to rule out surgery but right now they don't think it'll be necessary. I'm taking any good news I can get right now, so I'm thankful for that,

He said by 2 months I should be able to walk unassisted, and I could be running by 3-4 months. Even if I heal freakishly quickly, Boston is out for this year. But it doesn't impact our gtg at least!

joelies , oh no! Are you in a ton of pain? As long as I don't put weight on it, it isn't too bad. It's pretty awful when I lose my balance though, so I'm trying not to do that. But yeah, I think I've already demonstrated how truly impressive my coordination is, LOL.

kim22 and guster, it's my left foot so at least I can drive. I HATE relying on DH to bring me things and do everything, so I'm taking heart in at least being able to drive around when necessary.

cagoldi Here is the response I received from the immunologist. Thoughts? Respecting the ENT very much, the immunoglobulins are not low for Hayden's age. They are within age related norms. Also, we have normal IgA and IgM which rules out selective antibody deficiency. One could do IgG subsets, which is what the ENT is referring to but most of the total IgG is IgG type 1 so insurers are not likely to pay (nor should they) for IgG replacement in a patient with a normal total IgG even if IgG type 3 (for example) is low.
As to specific antibody deficiency, we did look at Hayden's vaccine response to pneumococcus which was great. This suggests that he is able to make antibody of sufficient quality.
We could look at Hayden's response to pneumococcal titers again at the upcoming visit to assess "immunoglobulin amnesia". This is a reasonable thing to consider.
.....additionally, we can consider a preventative antibiotic once weekly.

tgrimes I know you have mentioned H is barely on the charts for size. I recently meant someone with a kid with celiac and I asked her how she found out he had it. She said at a year old, he only weighed 12 lbs so was labeled failure to thrive and they started testing. I just googled gluten and ear infections and there appears there may be a link. Perhaps M and H both have something similar, manifesting in different ways?

lfig I’m so sorry, probably far fetched but are there any clinical trials on that drug you can apply for? I think they are past the clinical trial stage for that drug. Check out clinicaltrials.gov and search by the drug. There might be something on there. There is also info on side effects I think. But if it just the payment there company won't approve then it is an approved drug I think.
