1. Doesn't look like DH will be getting home today, but I expected that anyway.
2. Mom and her fiance are trying to convince us to go to Florida with them this summer instead of Toronto (as we've been planning for like 2 years now). Don't flame me but I have like less than zero interest in going to Disney, and we have activities planned for Toronto.. Plus I don't know if I want to fly that far for the boys very first trip, and taking them outside of Canada makes me irrationally anxious.

Omg do not go to Florida in the summer time danib especially if you already have a fun trip planned. I love the state, but won’t go near it that time of year. I don’t know how cookswithwine does it.

H has a conference call tomorrow after hours with the investors. I was feeling bummed because they never acknowledged his email. Turns out he didn’t actually attach the attachments. He resent yesterday and they contacted him back within the hour. 🤦🏼♀️
Surgery center is getting reaccredited today. The guys plane should be landing soon and then we’ll be getting started. Nervous, but it should all be fine.

Yeah Thats a good point too. We are not used to real heat. Add in that I'm not allowed direct sun and have to wear the highest SPF possible due to my autoimmune stuff and my medications. I actually went to Jamaica in December a few years ago, reapplied my SPF80 every 2 hours without fail, and still managed to get a dark tan.

Good luck today sophiegrace! danib - I would absolutely not, under any circumstances, go to Florida in the summer. Well maybe I'd consider it for a lavish all expenses paid trip, but that's about it. Seriously though, don't do it.

Granted by summer things should be back to normal (don't even want to give the alternative thought) but travel right now is a complete shitshow.

We shut down our government over lack of funding for a wall to “protect our borders” which in turn stops the paychecks for those already working in airports to...wait for it... ...protect our borders

Of course it won’t help! There will always be a way for people to figure out how to get over here if they want it bad enough. I always hesitate to comment on political stuff because I feel like there are so many layers to it that I don’t know enough to give an educated answer. But, I know enough that I really don’t feel comfortable with much of anything anymore.

tgrimes did M keep her pancakes down? When’s her GI appointment? I hope they figure out what in the world is going on. It’s not till February 27. 😩 I’m going to the pedi this afternoon to ask for a refill on zofran & for bloodwork to test inflammatory markers. I didn’t want to bother you yet again but I was going to ask for an ESR, CRP & a PV test. I found a type of crohns that affects the small intestine and can cause constipation and vomiting did to strictures. My mother had ulcerative colitis, my nephew had crohns and my sister has a slow moving colon. What are your thoughts? Anything else I should ask for today? The last GI said the next step would be a colonoscopy which I know is the only way to actually get an answer. Maybe I’m reaching for a diagnosis or maybe I’m freakin crazy. I don’t know. I just want healthy kids. Is that too much to ask for? Apparently it is.

danib No to Disney in the summer. It’s hot as hell and very crowded due to summer vacation tourists.

Work is hell right now. I've been in meetings all day and have another at 6 tonight. I don't know why we need so many damn meetings if they're not even listening to us.

I've never been to Toronto or FL but I would hands down pick Toronto over FL in the summer. But I also don't do heat. Anything above 75 degrees is pushing it.

I’ll start reading tonight and pull from anything I can. I’m not well versed in pedi GI issues, but I have no problem changing that. Seriously, I enjoy reading everything and anything about now the body works. Don’t ever not ask me a question. That appointment is soooo far away. What’s the Children’s hospital like in that area? Good, I assume. If you really want answers ask your pedi if you can maybe get her admitted. Drastic, but throwing up for another month sounds just as bad. Is she doing ok with the zofran constipation-wise? The only thing right off the top of my head is also asking for a full panel of food allergy testing to be done if they’re already taking blood. Maybe it’s just chronic GI irritation if she has a low level allergy or intolerance to something.

The office next to ours forgot to leave their exterior wall faucets dripping and they had a pipe burst last night. They just realized it happened. At 4 in the afternoon. If any of the damage spread to us I think H will have a stroke.
In better news the reaccreditation went off without a hitch! Zero deficiencies and we got multiple comments about our attention to detail and organization. Lol, if he had only seen me last week.

We don't know if he has celiac or not but we eliminated gluten (in consultation with our doctor) because of his eczema after 2 years of being unable to control it despite all the prescriptions and eliminating all fragrances from our house. I have a family history of celiac disease and my skin is also affected (dermatitis herpediformus *which I probably misspelled). Eliminating gluten cleared up his eczema AND his blepharditis (which is also autoimmune). Official Celiac testing involves a colonoscopy. We declined doing it (and our doctor agreed) because whether or not he has celiac it's still a trigger for his other stuff so it wouldn't change anything for us. When he gets older if he wants to try to reintroduce it and do the testing it will be his decision. Sorry I can't actually help. #UnicornSituation

Yes, I got celiacs and crohns mixed up in my head. C word, GI issues, my brain was hoping for a helpful association. Similar with my H, kind of. He has no official diagnoses, but eliminating gluten cleared up multiple issues so he’s been KOKO with it. Except for wheat starch, apparently (ahem, Pringle’s).

I'm so over SoCal weather in the summer/fall. The worst is when we get into the high 80's, low 90's and no one has AC in their houses. Come evening time it's by far cooler outside than it is inside our house. Thankfully we only really have a few weeks at most with those kind of temps. I could not do hot falls. By the time end of August rolls around I am begging for cooler weather and clouds and rain.

Late check in due thanks to a busy day at work. Normal Tuesday over here, just lots of snow which I’m sure will make for an interesting commute in the morning. I’ve told coworkers I’m not rushing to get in, current plan is to not even set an alarm and blame the snow. If daycare closes, I’ll have no choice but to stay home and having both kids all day doesn’t sound appealing.

As of now we're hoping for some time in July (but that could shift depending on DH's work). Will most likely be weekdays (better for my work schedule). When we get a little closer and are actually able to confirm/book you will 100% be hearing from me, expect a PM!!
