What’s going on today? The snow has started and it’s coming down fast. Trying to figure out if we are going to make it to this gender reveal party tonight or not. I feel bad because we always seem to break plans with this couple a lot for whatever reason so I was really hoping to try and make it. But we are supposed to get like 12 inches by tonight so not sure it’s going to happen.

We're getting some snow too but it's only supposed to be a couple inches. We'll probably take C out to play in it later. He loves looking at it through the window.
I had a work meeting this morning and another at noon. It sucks but hopefully that's it for the weekend.
My sister is coming at some point today. I told my friend I wouldn't make it out tonight for her birthday. I actually have a legit reason but also it's supposed to be freezing and it's snowy. Tomorrow our friends are doing a gender reveal. It has to be outside which is going to be really cold but at least it'll be quick then we're going to lunch after.

I slept in this morning. I managed to get to work on time but didn't have time to eat or anything. Usually the boys are up so early that we're awake before my alarm even goes off. Not today. They both woke minutes before I left. Wtf lol. Also it was snowing pretty heavily when I got up. It finally stopped just before lunch. I'd estimate we got a good 20+cm.

Hey. We are driving to Houston for the weekend sans kids. Excited for some time away with DH. He's running a half marathon tomorrow, but I'll be sleeping in. My mom has the girls and they sound like they'll be busy with some fun adventures of their own.
I've now subbed twice in HS and so far I like it! I have to get back to studying for the certification test. It's hard, but I think I can get there.

Howdy! I’m kid free today! I’m sure they’re getting all sugared up at the grandparents house, but I don’t really care since I’m not dealing with them 🤷🏻♀️
H and I are going to dinner tonight!

classymrsa one of my J15 BMB friends is running that race tomorrow! Hope you guys have a great kid-free weekend. tjanca22 enjoy your night out! I’m about to lay down for a nap. At 5:48 pm. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I would’ve done it earlier while D was napping and H was out with DS1, but of course that was the single hour today that V was wide awake so I couldn’t. We’re *sort of* getting into a routine with a family of 5 but there definitely still are some kinks to work out. Today was a good day though. We took our first voyage in my car with three carseats across the back! And had our first restaurant meal out all together. The snow has started and we are supposed to get 10-12” mixed with sleet by tomorrow morning. I’m hoping the big kids do okay with being cooped up because it doesn’t sound like this will be fun, play outside type snow.

I hope everyone who will be getting the winter mix is staying safe and warm this weekend. Sounds like it’s getting started just in time to really mess with the Monday work and school day.
I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with work lately. We packed everything surgery related up over the summer for the reno thinking having it all in one place would make for an easier transfer to the new place, but all it did was put me six months behind on paperwork. Bad call that I’ve been really regretting. I put in 50 hours this week so far while trying my best to maintain daytime normalcy for M, but I’m running out of steam very quickly. The reaccreditation guy comes Tuesday and then we’ll have the “surprise” inspection from Medicare shortly after. If I can keep this up for two more weeks we’ll be good go. But holy cow I’m tired in every way possible.

H went to the grocery store for me a few minutes ago so I can skip it Monday morning and the questions I’m being texted are hilarious. Usually he just goes to town, but I had already meal planned and had a specific list. I don’t even care that I’ll probably have to go back to get stuff, he’s trying really hard and gets no less than 17 brownie points.

Still, more than 2 years in, i wish that we never had the kids share a room. Neither one of the kids are good sleepers and sharing a room makes it worse. Basically, I’m tired. And I slightly resent MH for always being resistant to switching our house around so that the kids could have separate rooms.

No way would my kids be able to sleep in the same room at this age. What is his reasoning for not wanting to switch the house around a bit?

TTMA dairy allergy vs lactose intolerant vs I’m being a hypochondriac...
H has been having the nastiest poop for awhile now. Like when I walk in his room in the morning I want to pass out. We haven’t changed anything in his diet. It was really bad over the break and he was requesting cheese all the time. He’s never had any eczema or anything, minus a few tiny spots here and there, occasionally.
Should I get him tested? Or ask the pedi to test a poop sample for a big or something? He loves to eat sand at the play ground, apparently.
Could it just be all his freakin snot/drainage causing it? We don’t go back to the immunologist till Feb.

tgrimes they can't test lactose intolerance at this age. Apparently its some sort of breath test and they are too small to be able to do it properly. Any pain or is it just stinky poops?

I don’t think he’s in any pain. But he usually poops during nap or in the MOTN. I don’t notice any discomfort during the day, unless I’m just writing it off as normal 2 yr old assholeness.

tgrimes not exactly the same, but the smelly poop was obvious when E was milk/soy intolerant as a baby. It was also looser and almost greenish. I noticed a definite change once I removed dairy and soy from her diet. But that was very easy when she was mostly breastfed and couldn’t pick the other food she was eating. I think Eva would die on the spot if I took yogurt out of her diet today. And as for separating they kids BRs, we have a 3 BR house technically, but the 3rd one has an open spiral staircase to our main floor, so it’s not very private or suitable for kids. It’s also drafty back there. So that would have to be our room and H doesn’t want that. It would also be an incredible PITA to rearrange all the furniture and find an alternative guest space since my mom comes a fair amount. I kinda get it, but I don’t like it. But if we do have a 3rd kid, we will have to do this anyway so the baby could be alone. And please dear lord, let the older two eventually work it out.

Nope, this is a bad admin call on our part that we just have to suck it up and deal with it. I stayed up until 2 last night and took advantage of H being home today and got slightly ahead of schedule. If I can keep up this pace I should be good by the end of next weekend.

M is obsessed with Luke Evans’ Gaston. We have to listen to the song a dozen times a day and she stops everything to stop and watch him if we have the movie in. She calls him Ston-o. 😂

We had a busy couple of days here. As SC folks know my kids haven’t napped in over a week so I’m not getting any down time during the day.
We let them burn off some energy at an indoor play jungle yesterday morning thinking that would help. Ha. Ahahaaaa. Hhahahaaaaaaa. NOPE.
My big accomplishment yesterday was that I created a cleaning schedule. It seems so daunting when I have to dothe whole house in an hour so I broke things down to daily, weekly, every other week, monthly and quarterly. Let’s see how that goes. I end up doing about 1 “chore” a day but hope it makes it easier to stay on top of.
Today MH spent doing projects we still have outstanding. We cleaned out the 2nd pantry//broom closet and put in the last of the island cabinets - two have been missing this whole time. Laundry. Trips with excess toys to the attic. You get the deal.
Tomorrow is a bonus day off and we might hit IKEA but my real goal is to Kondo our clothing closets.

Please share the cleaning schedule if you find yourself liking it kleigh I have a set list of things I need to do daily, but other than that I feel like I’m cleaning nonstop. Maybe it would be helped by a schedule. Jealous of the deep cleaning you got done! T-minus three-ish weeks for the dumpster to get to our house so that H and I can do The Purge. I’m way more excited than I should be.
