If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going?
9-12mo Do you have a BF goal and has it changed since LO was a newborn?

I'll move my comment here then lol!
How old is your LO? 12 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing and now pumping at work and MH bottle-feeds (he is a stay-at-home parent). Nursing is going great, he eats frequently (every two hours or less) when awake, but typically takes some decent naps, so it seems to even out. Bottle-feeding was a bit of a challenge, we made the mistake of not consistently giving a bottle while I was on leave and then he got RSV and refused to take one for a couple of weeks. He's finally taking a bottle decently after we did a week of bottle boot camp before I started back at work. Pumping is going fine, I really like my Spectra and am getting good output (I tend toward oversupply). So far, he's only drinking 10 oz or so while I'm gone, so I've got some extra for my freezer.
I'm waiting for his next growth spurt, he's been sleeping pretty decently the past couple of weeks and I know it's only temporary...
GTKY: Berlin, Germany. I visited there when I was 13 and fell in love with the city.

How old is your LO? 9 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. Going well. He makes his way into our bed at night (we’ve all been sick so it was the best way to get rest) so we’ve been doing a lot of side-lying position when he wakes during the night. We’ve also made it to the squirmy breastfeeding stage. Where he seems to try to do handstands while nursing or look around to see what big brother is doing. That’s been fun.
9-12mo Do you have a BF goal and has it changed since LO was a newborn? I breastfed DS1 until he was 2, so unless this baby decides to wean on his own before then we’ll probably do the same.
Questions/AW?
GTKY: if you had to move to a major city outside of your home country, which one would you choose? London. Maybe Paris.

How old is your LO?: 6.5 months Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going?: Nursing on demand at home, pumping 3x a day at work 4-8 mo How do nights look?: Not great. He's still waking up several times to nurse and now he's sick so I've been getting no sleep. We really need to get the crib out and try to get him to sleep the first part of the night in there. GTKY: if you had to move to a major city outside of your home country, which one would you choose?: Gee whiz, I have no idea. Somewhere in Europe with maternity leave and free preschool.

How old is your LO? 7 months!
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Mostly nursing recently. He's only getting a bottle of formula every few days
4-8 mo How do nights look? Ugh. Hard. Not sure what's going on but he keeps waking up crying. I've also been trying to get him to sleep more in his own bed. Got a 3 hour stretch last night which is the best he's done.
Questions/AW? LO has started pulling on and off while nursing, and stopping to smile at me. Any tips to get him to focus?
GTKY: if you had to move to a major city outside of your home country, which one would you choose? Major city? That's hard because I don't like big cities, but likely Amsterdam. DH and I both kind of fell in love with Holland when we visited.

How old is your LO? 4.5 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing and he does do oatmeal once a day that I make with formula.
4-8 mo How do nights look? Sleep stretch from 9:30-6 so far so good
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? Sahm
Questions/AW? We made it thru our first 90 minute class without issue and I was able to feed him before we left and right away when I get home. Using the last of my pumped stash this weekend with him for an outing and will need to use formula if I go out and about for longer stretches going forward. I just can’t figure out NIP well enough with him, but I’m at peace with it all at this point.

Speedy, nurse in a quiet, dark room, nurse in bed, nurse when he's tired, nurse in a rocking chair or glider

How old is your LO? - 7mo
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? - nursing, going well
4-8 mo How do nights look? - we are now bedsharing 100% of the night. DH puts baby to sleep in our bed while I do bedtime with our older kid. When the big kid is tucked in & the baby is asleep, we get some time together in the living room before we go to bed.
Questions/AW?
GTKY: if you had to move to a major city outside of your home country, which one would you choose? - I’m not a city person for long term. I loved living in Paris except it’s too cold. I’d probably move to Nice; is that major enough? Otherwise, Paris.

How old is your LO? 5.5 Months Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing when together, pumping at work. He's just starting solids, so rice cereal, and avocado, and random bites of whatever we're eating that I think he can handle. DCP makes his cereal with formula. 4-8 mo How do nights look? Really good, for the most part. We did some sleep training but he's doing 10-11 hours in the crib most nights. If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? We had some miscommunication with DCP about if formula was ok for bottles (it's not, especially when she has my breastmilk in her freezer), but I think we have that sorted out. I'm pumping between 12-15 oz/day, which is more than enough for him (according to me) but just enough (according to DCP) Questions/AW? GTKY: if you had to move to a major city outside of your home country, which one would you choose? Edinburgh (english speaking-ish ), or anything Scandinavian (yay socialism!). Those are also my ancestral lands, so I feel like I'd fit in.

*snip* Questions/AW? LO has started pulling on and off while nursing, and stopping to smile at me. Any tips to get him to focus? Nursing necklace or a ribbon tied to your bra. A small toy to play with - a soft one because he’ll probably hit you in the face with it. Eye contact & singing.

potatocakes sorry DCP is pushing back about bottle size. Good for you standing up for your baby! My DD never drank more than 3.5 oz at a time for her whole first year, so I found it a bit laughable that he "needed" 6 oz bottles. I think she's not up to date with formula vs. breastmilk information, so I just make sure to inform her.

I'm going to jump in here if that's okay!
How old is LO? 1 day
My daughter was born early yesterday at 36w2d and had to be transported to a nearby NICU due to oxygen requirements and her lungs having some fluid. I started pumping right away and my initial pump was pretty good. Since then I've only gotten a few milliliters. I have 2 other preemies and have never had issues responding to the pump. I definitely get colostrum when I hand express just not a lot. I can't remember if this is normal or not. Any advice or tips? I'm trying not to get stressed because that doesn't help. I'm pumping every 2-3 hours even at night. I haven't gotten to hold her or do skin to skin yet and I wonder if that's having an impact.

Welcome tngrl3 and congrats! my son was in the NICU for his first 5 days of life and I had to pump and had similar output- I got a lot of colostrum the first couple of pumps and then barely anything after that and they ended up giving him some donor milk until my milk came in on day 3 or 4. Did they give you a hospital grade pump to use? Are you able to visit her? I would pump in the NICU room so I was near him, I think that helped bring my milk in. Maybe ask if you can have a blanket or hat the baby has worn so you can smell it while you pump. I'm sorry you're going through this, pumping in the NICU really sucks. I hope your daughter's stay is short and you can stop pumping soon!

My first was a preemie and I pumped right away with him and felt like I got more out sooner. I know each pregnancy and breastfeeding experience is different with each baby but it is stressful! Hopefully my milk will come in soon. I will see if I can pump in her room when I visit today and ask about something that smells like her. Thanks for the response!

Hi. Lurker here, hoping to jump in!
How old is your LO? 2 months 3 days
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing, mostly on demand. He would eat all day long if I let him. Nursing is going much better than it did with #1. I'm using the haakaa in the morning in my "stud" side and have a small stash starting. We tried introducing bottles once so far without luck. I was originally going back to work but now that is uncertain so we'll see...
0-3 mo Getting through growth spurts okay? So far so good. I'm just shy of over supply I think (I definitely had a plugged duct or starting of mastitis last week that I managed to work out)
Questions/AW? This kid is in 6 month clothes already. The side by side pictures of both my boys at the same age makes me laugh at how different they are.
GTKY: if you had to move to a major city outside of your home country, which one would you choose? London probably but somewhere on the southern island of new Zealand would be amazing too-

Hope it’s ok if I jump in here, I have some questions.
How old is your LO? 6 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. Pretty good, I think. See concerns below.
0-3 mo Getting through growth spurts okay? Yes. He’ll eat more frequently so e dayscthem others but NBD.
Questions/AW? LO swallows a ton of air while eating. He always has, even with good burping and what looks to me like a good latch. He does sometimes unlatch and relatch multiple times in a feed, and also often makes a loud “tsk” noise when eating, like when your tongue leaves the roof of the mouth? The air he swallows is making him super gassy/strainy/? Pained and it’s interfering with his sleep now. Like he’ll be almost asleep and will wake himself up with straining. Or he spends the hours of 2-5am awake and gassy/straining. I’ve tried different feed positions, same thing. We are starting to wonder if I should pump and bottle to see if he can decrease the air with a bottle. I would rather not because it’s just another thing for me to do and I’m home for he next year or so but I guess if that what it takes...
GTKY: if you had to move to a major city outside of your home country, which one would you choose? Somewhere in Europe with even better social constructs than Canada. Maybe Stockholm?

jorkzy has he been evaluated for a tongue tie? Clicking and taking in air while nursing are pretty classic tongue tie symptoms. An IBCLC can diagnose, or your ped might be able to. 6 weeks is also a super common time for babies to be gassy in general because their digestive systems are maturing, so it could just be age and will improve on its own in the next few weeks.

He does a mild tongue tie, in that his tongue looks like an m when he’s crying, and he can extend to his lips but not really past it. I’m told it’s not severe enough to do anything about it. I work with a bunch of LCs so I have emails in to them to see if they have suggestions too. Maybe it is just his age. Poor dude. . Thanks for responding!

How old is your LO? 2 days
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? Nursing How’s it going? Not great. Lots of pain, cracked and bleeding nipples. My milk just came in. I had the same experience with my boys, I’m just worried this babe has a tongue tie. She definitely has a poor latch.
0-3 mo Getting through growth spurts okay? The past two nights have been rough. She pretty much nursed the first ten hours of her life, setting my nipples up for some gnarly damage.
Questions/AW? I’m just hoping she gets stronger and more coordinated soon. I was expecting this time to suck but also hoped I’d be pleasantly surprised. Any tips for a deeper latch?
GTKY: if you had to move to a major city outside of your home country, which one would you choose? Chicago...maybe 🥶

I would push for a second opinion on a revision if he has any tongue tie, especially if it's causing latch issues. That can cause milk supply/weight gain/nipple damage issues over time.
