Morning!
Both kids are at school this morning; we are having friends over this afternoon to make cookies so I’m going to get the dough ready now so it can chill.
DH is flying this afternoon so I decided we’re going to have wings for dinner that he can pick up on the way home 😄

E read almost a whole book to us last night. It was one of the Peppa learn to read books but there were no tears or tantrums. He is doing great with phonics but not great with sight words.

MOrning traffic was a big pain. When I left there was a 30-40 minute delay. By the time I got to work they were saying 90 minutes. There were a couple of wrecks, lanes closed down. I ended up taking some weird convoluted way of twists and turns and frontage roads. I'm here and wish I were in bed.
Cadence was apparently being the mean girl yesterday, not allowing the youngest of their crew to play with them. This is not the first time this has occurred and it's annoying the crap out of me. I keep explaining to her we don't exclude people and she wouldn't like it if they excluded her. So hopefully it starts sinking in soon cause it's not cool.
She also got a time out yesterday at bedtime for talking back and just having a crappy attitude about everything and yelling at MH. I made him leave her room and she had to sit for 5 minutes in her room by herself. She was not pleased. I'm just over it. She's 5, she doesn't need to be such a brat, at least wait until the teenage years!

He hurt one of his best friends feelings yesterday at school (and of course today is that friends birthday) and he refused to eat dinner and lied multiple times. I hope it’s just a phase. |

I just volunteered to facilitate/organize my MOPS group’s book club for next year, as the woman who does it currently is going back to work. Pray that I don’t live to regret this decision 😂

I snoozed later than usual and it was a rushed morning, but I got M to school just before the bell rang. It’s payday so I’ll be spending my workday paying some bills and financial planning for the rest of the month. Like inthekitty, I need to win the lottery, too. I think this no spend month only has me really wanting to spend big money, that I don’t have. 😒 |

Morning Ladies. Another rough night with a sick baby, ugh. I'm wiped. We are moving slow this morning.
I am going to my mom's house in the city tonight with my sister to pick up her car. We are going to get dinner at our favorite noodle place. Can't wait!

Guys, I feel like I shouldn’t even post because everything is so negative lately.
Dh’s car got broken into last night. Because of course it did. Work laptop and a jenga set (?) stolen. So the stolen stuff isn’t a huge deal, but we just feel so violated.
Last night seeing my mom was.... awful. Really, really bad. She was completely out of it, making no sense, seeing things. Very five minutes shed day she was ready to leave and we’d have to explain to her again that she had to stay. Then she’s yell at us, say we were abandoning her, we were lying. It’s like she had a complete break. They day before she was coherent and we were having totally normal conversations.

peachsmama so exciting! Do the boys have a preference? I spent most of the night on the couch with C. I asked DH to get the big one up for school which resulted in him letting him stay home for a “cough.” I think he’s just tired from late practice last night. Then DD got a bloody nose on the way to school. I’m just stuck home for the day now. They will only accept a girl.. which is the main reason I'm finding out. My kids hold grudges. I need any disappointment out of the way before theres a real baby to be upset at if its born a boy lol. |

DD still tells me it’s not up to me, if a baby wants to grow, it will. We have lots of talks that need to happen in the next few years. |

xolastunicornxo I'm sorry about the car. I'll admit I'm laughing a little that they took a jenga set though. If you recall my father had all sorts of hallucinations while he was in the hosptial, so it's definitely thing. Hospital delirium is the term for it, I believe. I know she was having these issues beforehand, but it's possible just being stuck in the hospital could be making it worse.

Morning! The last two days were tough. Our Chocolate lab Java (mama dog), had some kind of either allergic reaction to something or got bit by something. Not sure what. But her neck/throat swelled up and we weren’t sure she’d make it through the night. My H loaded her up on benedryl and took her to the vet. But I’m happy to say she started to improve yesterday slowly and doing even better today! It would have devestated us both. Especially because 5 years ago the same exact thing happened to Java’s predecessor 2 weeks before I had S. And it didn’t have a good ending.
Now I’m picking S up from school because she’s had 4 seizures this morning and has been holding her fingers in her ears. So we are going to the pediatrician to check for an ear infection.

tgrimes we’re laughing at the jenga set to. It was a white elephant gift and one of those ones that was in a nice wood nondescript box. They were probably disappointed when they opened it. And in case anyone is concerned, I checked my car and my trash/coffee cups/ goldfish/ Cheerios/ empty juice boxes/ and crumbs all seem to be intact. We’re also thinking the hospital setting is making it worse. Which makes me feel guilty, but I know this is the best place for her right now.

xolastunicornxo I’m sorry that things aren’t better with your mom. I know how awful it is to see them like that. When my MIL started having those issues it was heartbreaking to see. Also, omg to the car break in. Surely things can only go up from here.
