tgrimes and jewels This is the first year that the kids have had their flu shots, so any kid under 9 get two doses, 4 weeks apart, their first year. Any year after this they get one. Gotchya Are flu shots not as prevalent in Canada? Or, I guess I should ask if the flu is not as prevalent. Here, I can't even send my kids to DC without the flu shot. So yes, they did get the 2 doses the first year, but it starts at 6 months old.

For that price? I would do it. Unless you have a Loft outlet near you that you can check out. But last time, on sale, I paid $40 for them. Also, if you need other stuff, you can add that then the $9 doesn't seem so bad! It's probably 40 min away. But I don't think they have those leggings in my size at the store. The leggings I have on now are from Loft. Lol. Gotchya - do it, then add some other stuff that you need to your cart! There was a ton of stuff for $5-6 ! For me, probably 1/3 of my clothes come from there so it's always easy to find stuff. Oh, and also, I can't remember if you are one of the short people here... but I do not like those in petite. It changes the fit. And the regular are fine for me (at 5'1) because they scrunch a bit.

You can get immunized everywhere; clinics, drop in places at the beginning of the season, pharmacies, work places, literally everywhere all for free of charge. My daycare doesn't require proof of flu shot for attendance, they ask for the updated vaccine report yearly. I've never had the flu shot before this year, and the kids have never had them based on my decision.

Morning. I forgot my lunch at home. Boo. Other than that I’m having an ok day so far. M2 started the night off weird and whiny, so I dosed him with Tylenol around 1am thinking it is his teeth and he slept pretty soundly after that. I still don’t fall into a deep sleep though. It’s like I’m half awake all night. I think I have too much on my mind to sort out and it is causing me to lose sleep. Could you maybe write out some of the things you’re thinking about on a notebook or something before you go to bed? It seems to help me see things on paper and not worry so much about keeping track of it all in my head, if that makes sense. Or I could just be a weirdo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ No that totally makes sense. Most of it is what I vented about the other week about the move. The more I look at stuff the worse I feel about it all because I’m not finding what I want and I’m all over the place. My head space is jacked. Maybe I should start a spreadsheet. What would I be putting in this spreadsheet? Paging vino, too.

I recommend melatonin or a white noise app. I can still hear E over the white (actually brown is my choice) noise but it really helps with those pesky thoughts M2’s crib is still in our room and we’ve used white noise since he was a baby, so that doesn’t help.

FYI - when I went to the Loft outlet site to link those pants for tgrimes they are on CRAZY sale (usually like $70 - they are $20 now. I didn't buy any b/c I have so many, but I did just buy $100 worth of other clothes. I know there are other Loft people here (I believe flamingo and possibly lahdeedah?) Anyway, the sale is crazy. I got an $80 pair of pants for $24 and a few tops that are usually $50 - $70 all for $10 - $25 Just thought I would share! Thanks! Sadly I’m in a no spend. 😩 Those are great deals!

I don't think it's something that is required, but if you're going to send them to a doggie daycare or board them there, it's required. At least, it is at all of the places we've gone to here, anyway.

However, I personally don't always get one.

flamingo I'm seeing a change in J's napping/sleeping as well. She happily goes in the crib at 7.20ish but rolls around and isnt asleep until about 8pm. With naps, I always wake her by 2.30pm the latest and it helps a bit, but I'm hoping to hang on to naps for a while yet. Yes, she used to fall asleep right at 7ish. The last couple weeks we've seen similar to what you're describing (singing/chatting until closer to 8). Last few nights have involved tears, request for more books/songs/water, and eventually climbing out. School pick-up is at 1, so I normally have to wait and put her down when we get home. Which is really too late, but it is what it is. Maybe I'll just stop letting her sleep as long. Today my H stepped out for lunch and got B at school so I put C down around 12:30. She is still wide awake in her crib an hour later  On the upside, at least she's still in it? LOL.

Even my dog has to get a flu shot to go to daycare. Like we are taking him tomorrow. I had never heard of this before. The place we board our dog at required them this year, too. I've never heard of it before, either, and we've used multiple kennels, daycares and vets over the years.

lahdeedah Will you have a chance to go to the new location and check out neighborhoods, schools, etc. before y'all actually secure a house/move? I know your H is there now but...I also know that's not the same as being there yourself I said last night, we should probably try to get down to FL next fall sometime and stalk neighborhoods and maybe even tour a couple public schools in the communities we'd be looking at, to see if we have a strong preference that would influence our neighborhood choice. My H was like, "Why do we need to do that, we know all the neighborhoods we're interested in". I don't know, dear, b/c we're looking at being there 10+ years and educating our kids, we should probably just exhaust our options to make sure we make an informed decision?

Yeah, I’ll be going there next month and a few days for spring break in March to do just that. M has a 4 day break for president’s day and I plan to go to a few schools then so I can figure out what schools we like. Then hopefully in March, we will have some houses to look at. It’s tough because rent seems super high for the area so I’m thinking about buying, but we’ve never been homeowners and I’m not sure if that’s what we should do. I’ve been doing some research, and the more I do, the more anxiety I have about it. I don’t want to make the wrong decision. From listening to you girls over the past years, seems like spring is when more goes on the market, so I’m trying to wait it out and see what comes available.

It probably depends on the area, but my friend who just sold her house said most people move during the summer for the schools. So she was advised to wait until May to put her house on the market. It sold in 2 days. *anecdote

lahdeedah Yes, typically "selling" season is in the spring b/c like tgrimes said, most people are trying to move over the summer to avoid disrupting school. So I think you'll definitely have more luck as you approach Feb/March, whether you buy or rent, since schools down south are out in May or early early June. I'm keeping an eye on things down in FL and am starting to see new listings pop. Seems to me like the stuff that's hung on over the winter are people being unrealistic about the price. Maybe that is the case with some of the rentals, too (Limited inventory makes them think they can command a higher price tag?)

So even though my mom checked in voluntarily, she is “off” enough that they won’t let her leave unless my dad comes and gets her. Which he’s not going to do, even though it’s killing him. We’re waiting for the doctor to evaluate her and call us.
And Lucas puked again.
