Congrats billmurray! 🎉 FX Taitai. I was on bedrest for a month (in Bangkok -- lyfe twinz?) and hated every second of it. I hope you get a reprieve! AFM I am at the airport solo, headed to my sister's engagement party in LA. Excited for the trip and a kid-free weekend yet already missing R. So absurd!

Happy Friday Ladies!!
It's supposed to be really nice today and tomorrow and then get into the 90s on Sunday! As much as I complain about the rain here, I really can't handle anything above 85 degrees (and really, 80 degrees is pushing it for me). I'm PNW to the bone, apparently.
Tomorrow I'm going to a baby shower and that's about the only plans we have for this weekend, which is nice because we've been so busy the last several weekends. I'm looking forward to the downtime.

My dh drives me nuts at times esp when his sister is involved. She was sponsoring her mom for a visa to come visit. And basically couldn't because of finances, so now I'm on there too as a financial sponsor. They need me to sign some papers and they were playing phone tagt this morning. I told them I wanted to speak to the lawyer myself, jeez. At least now I have plans for my day off July 3rd. It's in downtown Chicago, trying to figure out who's down there to have lunch with. I wouldn't mind doing something myself like a museum but there might be a lot of tourist because of the 4th.

Good news from DC yesterday. L sat on the potty! Without a diaper! That, plus the baby taking 2 bottles of formula, made my day.

Just got a call from MH that the car needs $1200 worth of work again. He drives close to 150miles a day so he puts a lot of wear and tear on the car. woof.

We just had about a thousand dollars last month for H's truck that was unexpected. I am trying to pay off debt and those things do not help.

DS was toddlering hard while we were out, but I did find a cute top for Sunday at least! And I spent less than $10 for it, so double win. If I don't find anything else I like in the next week, I have a dress I picked up a couple of weeks ago that will probably work nicely.

My toddler be toddlering today. It's hot and humid thanks to the tropical storm, so we only played outside for 15 minutes. She's been a whiny clingy mess. So we watched Tangled and half of Frozen. I'm going to try and take her to an indoor play place after nap - it's going to be 100 this afternoon and that's too hot to sit at our pool.

I've done jack shit today at work. It's beautiful outside, sunny 77°! I'm headed to the bank and then picking up lunch somewhere.

Friday means it's my day at home with DS, and naturally it's a rainy day. Luckily we made it through the morning powering through laundry and chores, plus busting out a lot of his new art supplies he got for his birthday. And now he's taking an awesome nap - hurray!

Posting and running, I'll be back to catch up tonight. Today I woke up super early and fed the kids breakfast and managed to distract DS2 for 3 1/2 hours so he could have a barium swallow study done. Unfortunately he is in fact aspirating and not eating properly. So now we have to adjust his diet to make it safer for him to eat, add thickener to his foods and get an evaluation done by an oral therapist. I'm so glad we know for sure now though.

billmurray congrats!! Taitai many fingers crossed!! @bulterfan my MIL gets very irritated with us having such a regulated schedule, but DS1 has sensory processing disorder so the meltdowns, difficulties with him dealing are all really aggravated when schedules are off. And DS2 is just wild so I need him on a schedule for my sanity. People really do not understand until they see for themselves.

I had a busy week of work after coming back from vacation. Felt like I was playing catch up all week. It was nice leaving for the day with no paperwork in my to do pile!
We actually don't have anything planned for the weekend so that's nice. Grocery shopping and lawn work need to get done. I also have to finish organizing my storage room that I tore apart on vacation. I ended up ordering some storage bags for my fine china and after a major delay from Amazon and a reorder they finally all showed up today. So I will probably spend nap time working on that over the weekend.

billmurray congrats on the new job! Taitai I cannot even imagine being on bedrest for so long. FX that the next week passes very quickly for you! sheilathetank car issues are the worst. H and I both have cars that are about 10 years old, and we had a close call with his two months ago. Luckily, his dad was able to help us fix the issue so we saved a ton on labor. I know that feeling of never being able to catch up/get ahead. butlerfan I couldn't handle having my ILs around for 3 hours, let alone 3 weeks. I do hope that there is a bright side and it gives them perspective on your new family life. Although the situations are a little bit different, many of my students' families struggle with getting loved ones to understand the rigidity and pace of their households and families due to their childrens' special needs, and I can imagine it's very isolating and frustrating.

Taitai I am praying that everything works out and you can be off bed rest next week! Congratulations billmurray! I had a nice day. Drive to a restaurant to meet my parents for lunch and they took DD until Tuesday for a visit. We had bought a dozen donuts this morning with my coffee and we enjoyed that for breakfast. I went shopping after and picked up a couple of things, relaxed, and then made a drink a d walked to the video store and rented a few movies. Eating another donut now with a drink and looking forward to doing what I want all day tomorrow!

I haven't been super active lately because my job and my ILs both seem to be out to wreck my sanity and they're pretty close to succeeding. But, today was my official last day of the school year! It was a staff only day, so I brought V in with me. He was very cute and cooperative and did awesome sitting through our last faculty meeting. He also wanted to bring his backpack with all of his books and coloring supplies, so I got a glimpse of our future with a big kid heading off to school. He didn't get a great nap in, though, and I've been sick for a few weeks and I'm still really rundown, so the rest of the day was very trying. He was so overtired and not dealing with life, so I drove him around after dinner to get him to sleep, and he started screaming and crying. I decided to sing the ABCs to him, since we often sing it together in the car. I got through the song 3 times and he had stopped crying. By the 5th time he was asleep. It's the first time I have ever sang him to sleep, and it was really sweet. He was also asleep an hour earlier than usual, which was exactly what I needed tonight.
