alwayscheese, we do big for 1 and then after this it'll be just friends probably. The only reason it's big for #1 is that I invite mine and my H's aunts/uncles and their families, and I have a big family. I honestly wish I could not invite them but I feel badly since I did for E. Birthday parties are honestly stressing me out.

We decided to have 2 parties - one at my parents for family and one at our house for friends. Double the fun, double the $$. But at least I’ll get my money’s worth for the decorations! H wants to repaint our living room and kitchen (which would involve sanding the texture out of the walls, priming, then painting) all before the party which is in a month. And he will be out of town for work 2 weeks in February. I love party planning but DNW to do so in a messy, dusty house that may or may not be done by the party. The painting project right before the party would stress me! But would the deadline help in getting the job finished? Maybe not everyone works under pressure like I do lol.

I am almost done purging/organizing the house and then I’m ready to hit the bday party planning hard. I have about $300 from stuff I’ve sold to put towards it.
I always spend far too much and do too much but I’m guessing my years of getting to do the parties I want are numbered. I’m assuming once they go to school it will be like a family dinner and then a friend party doing some sort of activity. Then my theme parties and joint parties will likely be over
