mwhip, My girls can hold it for what seems to me an insanely long time. They only go a couple times a day but when they do go they hang out in there a long time. They've also been known to just screw around in the bathroom and not actually go. Is this unusual or new behavior for her? You could always call the nurse's line and see what they think.

Last night I stayed up too late watching Bad Times at the Old Royale. It was excellent. The best movie I've seen in a while. Great suspense. Lots of plot twists that kept me guessing. I highly recommend it.

inthekitty, we were watching that the other night. I went to bed because I wasn't really paying attention, but mh said he was disappointed in the ending. He said it was too easy.

You could always call the nurse's line and see what they think. she doesn't hang out, unless it's to go #2, then she has the tablet and just sits in there forever, much like her dad. This is new, within the last few weeks, I guess I noticed it last week when I was home with her and kind of wondered if this is what she does to the grandparents when she is with them...then when SMIL said something, it made me think about it. SMIL says going to the bathroom alot is a sign of diabetes, which is not in our family, although I know it doesn't have to be hereditary. I didn't know if it was maybe behavioral and others were doing this weird thing too...or just my kid.

mwhip, Cadence holds it. I would maybe monitor it and if it continues, go ahead and take her for a urinalysis. It could be, like you said, that she's getting attention for it, so she continues to do it. Has her water intake increased? Like is she drinking more while she is home vs. when at school?

She does drink a lot, which is why I wasn't too worried. But SMIL said she hadn't had much to drink and was still going a lot. I figure as long as it doesn't hurt when she goes and there is no blood, she's okay? She did tell me this morning, when she went for the 3rd time, that she felt like she had to go, but didn't end up going. Which kind of makes me wonder about a UTI, but she didn't say it hurt. But maybe her symptoms present themselves differently in her than me? I just hate to take her to the doctor if it's nothing, thus getting her more attention. But I also hate to ignore something that could be an issue. I'll ask my mom, who has her today, to watch her and let me know what she thinks. She's as honest as I am, so I know she will let me know.

mwhip does your office have a question or nurse line? I bet it'd just be a urine sample to id a UTI. J has been going more recently and we have been wondering as well if he has a UTI.

I'm going to call and see. My mom already answered me back that she is going a lot more than normal and went twice today at preschool.

Her pedi is all booked up today, but the receptionist suggested I bring her to the walk in clinic to be seen, just in case. Wonderful. I'm waiting to see when my mom can meet me because her drs office is like 5 minutes from my work.

I meant to ask the other day, dapostrophe, is Ferris named after Ferris Bueller? I was wondering about the Windy City connection If so, well played--that is one of my all-time favorite movies, too!

mamabear, happy birthday! mwhip I hope it's nothing but I think it's good you are bring her in. For S, I worry the opposite way. Sometimes he literally holds his pee all day. If I remind him, he'll often go, but sometimes I'll look up and realize that it's 2:00 and he hasn't gone since first thing in the morning. And he drinks a lot! guster, I hope he's just snuggly and not sick. FWIW both my kids have been extra sleepy recently. Yesterday S was acting up a bit and I made a comment that maybe he was tired and if he couldn't control himself he should just go to sleep. His response "that sounds like a good idea, mom, I think I should go to sleep. It was about 1.5 hours before his betime!

Hope it's nothing too serious mwhip! Maybe she's just lucky and isn't feeling a lot of pain with a UTI...I know when I had my one and only, it took awhile for it to really start hurting and by then it had progressed to a bladder infection :/

mwhip. 2 things our dr mentioned when we took N in for the same thing... could she be constipated? Or could she have irritated something by touching too much down there? For N, her urine came back fine initially but then the longer culture came back with a trace amount of infection so they put her on antibiotics. After following up with her pedi at her well check, she didn’t think it should have needed antibiotics and still thinks it was probably from constipation.

They come on fast and hurt like a M-F'r. But they are easy to treat and relief happens relatively quickly. Thanks for the input ladies! You're the best.

I don't think so...she tends to go pretty frequently, both #1 and #2. I know she went Sunday and MIL mentioned yesterday, the amount of times she had gone potty. She may have irritated it, I'm not sure. It isn't pink or anything odd. I know I have always developed UTIs easily, so has my mom. So I'm wondering if I passed this fun trait on to her as well. Although I don't think I got them this young. I have a friend who's daughter used to get them a lot when she was around this age, if I'm remember correctly, I'm going to text her as well.

Happy birthday mamabear! Any fun plans to celebrate? C and I made some progress this morning; I decided to do a gift basket but need to find a container. I normally try to use the baby tub the mom registers for, but the one she picked out wouldn't work well for this. So once DH gets home I'm heading back out. In other news, the bed is being delivered on Saturday! I took some pics of our old one so I think I'm going to list it online once we get it broken down. Not sure if there'll be any takers since it's only the bed and not accompanying pieces, but we'll see.

I just registered my kid for kindergarten. It's all online and I still have to take in the appropriate documentation, but the bulk of it is done. If you need me, I'll be in the corner crying my eyes out. LOL

H wants to move in the spring, I do not, but if we do, we would change school districts. Something else to stress about.

Happy birthday mamabear! klong11 - Now that the holidays are over, it feels like Colin is halfway done with kindergarten. Which, just no... In the fall I'll have a preschooler and a 1st grader?!
