Spending that time picking apart Trump's constant lies would be far more beneficial and productive.

I have a fed employed friend who applied for unemployment today. Apparently rules vary by state, but MN allows them to.

I’m really hoping his request for airtime is denied. But I doubt it.

So I discovered that Newsmax and Newsweek are two totally separate magazines today. Someone has a Newsmax in the waiting room at work and I wondered I had missed about Pelosi and Schumer’s “radical plan”. Then I discovered Newsmax is....not what I recalled Newsweek being about. Don’t be me. 😂😂😂😂 Newsmax is Gizzi's pub. It's owned by a sooper BFF of Trump

he was absolutely talking to the paintings Washington and Lincoln both agree with me on the wall. I argued with Truman but he came around to my way of thinking

The White House has now said they will bring back IRS workers to process/pay refunds
ETA the employees still wont be paid until the shutdown ends though

TV exec texts: "He calls us fake news all the time, but needs access to airwaves… If we give him the time, he'll deliver a fact-free screed without rebuttal. And if we don't give him the time, he'll call every network partisan. So we are damned if we do and damned if we don't." So don't

Perhaps, like TSA, they will call in sick.

I have a fed employed friend who applied for unemployment today. Apparently rules vary by state, but MN allows them to. I know some of my coworkers did that during the 2013 shutdown. They ended I believe having to repay it once it was determined the government was going to backpay and reopened. But it’s really nice that it’s there because going without a paycheck is not feasible. I’m glad MN allows it.

And this is why the networks should absolutely not let him spew his lies.

I wonder if any of them will do real-time fact checking on screen like CNN has done.

Damn, Sandra Oh looked stunning at the Globes last night. I'm so bummed I missed it. She looked great, but she and Andy Samberg were awkward. The writing was terrible. Like, worse than usual. Soooooo bad.

Oh. So it's, "come work the busiest time humanly possible for your job, and do it without pay so you can in turn pay everyone else because we're assholes who are otherwise withholding said pay as ransom for a racist eyesore." Got it.

Can they run chryons during the address or are there specific rules they must follow? I'm not sure why they could decline Obama's request but not Trump. Cowards.

I can only hope that considerations like the below (and all the stuff we've talked about before re: airports, tax refunds, people going fucking hungry) will rattle enough of the GOP to break off from this insanity.

Your keyboard to God's ears, friend. With Bill Shine in that West Wing I'm feeling nervous.

I’m really nervous he’s about to call for the national emergency.
And then what? The GOP are spineless. Will they reopen the government? Does it stay closed? Obviously this would end up in the courts.
