My department chair just asked me if I could take over an extra class this semester. It won’t be finalized until the end of the day tomorrow, but I’m both excited and nervous! It would mean I have a total of 3 classes plus one show this semester. Luckily I didn’t have any freelance contracts lined up until fall, so I know I can do it. But eek!

courtniko, thanks! I’m nervous about having an extra class that I’ve never taught before, since there’s only 2 weeks until the semester starts. That’s a lot of prep in a short time, and my parents are visiting next weekend to help paint the nursery. But the extra money will be worth it, and I think the stress will go down once I find the rhythm of the class. Now to just keep the nerves in check until I get confirmation if it’s actually happening!

I'm anxiously awaiting my doctors appointments coming up to see what is going on with my placenta previa. I was wanting to work extra shifts over the next couple months to save money for my maternity leave but my mom and several of the nurses I work with have said they don't think I should be working such long hours on my feet while I have this going on. I'm pretty sure my doctor is going to say it will be ok but it will be nice to have some answers.

Has anybody else been having a lot of swelling even though we're still pretty early on? My feet and hands have gotten so puffy the last few weeks and I get so short of breath so easily. I'm kind of worried about how much worse it's going to get later on!

sunny75, I haven’t noticed any swelling yet, but I’m definitely getting some shortness of breath. I’ve started having H carry the laundry up and down the stairs for me, because carrying things up the stairs makes me really tired. I told him, I can sort it, I can start the machine and I can fold, I just need you to carry it!

@starzia, I’m sad that the day I can’t pick DS up anymore is coming soon. For him it’s just as much that he is just too heavy and big. I didn’t realize the day would come so fast.
I’ve had shortness of breath for a while now, depending on what I’m doing.

We ended up staying in MI to look for houses so I technically skipped my appt last week.
We’re still going to look at a few more houses but I think we have decided on one, which is exciting. It isn’t the perfect location, but will serve our needs and not make us go broke. I’m happy to have that all mostly done and feel less stressed about the rest of the process bc it is a new construction so there isn’t a back and forth about price and such.

My OB office finally called to let me know I have a UTI. Apparently the antibiotics they can give me while pregnant only mask the symptoms, and I will have to take something else after delivering to get rid of it.

My parents get here today to help paint the nursery! I’m excited to see the room transform. I primed it this summer, before our FET, so it’s been in that half finished stage for a while now!

We made the decision to not move. It’s a little sad, but mostly I’m just happy to have a decision and I’m glad we aren’t rushing into it. We may revisit it in another year.

mamabear02, that sounds like a tough decision, but having a decision made feels like a huge load off the brain at the same time I am sure.

mamabear02, I’m glad you were able to make a decision that took some stress off you! I know you wanted to be closer to family, but moving right before the baby comes would be stressful!

What are everyone's opinions on Sprinkles? I've been offered one by DH's cousin and I'm waffling back and forth on it.

Hand to God, I thought you meant sprinkles cupcakes and I was all "Yessss, the red velvet rock"....I see the error of my ways. I had a sprinkle for my second child, it was great. I just had my very closest friends and family and no one thought or at least said to my face, it was tacky. I mainly was gifted clothes, blankets, bath stuff etc. I know some people dont approve, and I get it, but I wouldn't hesitate to go to one of my good friends!

We'll have an almost 10 year gap between our older kids and this baby so several people have mentioned throwing a shower and I'm kind of on the fence about that too so I get your hesitation. But if people legit want to get together to celebrate then it's hard to say no to that and anyone that doesn't care to participate can just skip it, right? I do agree that I'd be more comfortable with a trimmed guest list.

Is it possible to have PMS while pregnant? Because I feel like I've been on edge with my family more than normal lately and then it makes me feel like crap.

Anyone here exercising regularly? I just got a gym membership and I don’t even know what to go there a do besides play on the elliptical I just cancelled mine bc their childcare wasn’t a good fit for ds- but I really loved taking classes! Body pump and Zumba were a couple of my favorites.

I want to do the classes because I obviously don’t know what to do with myself. But what are my limits? I feel like a newb. I haven’t exercised really besides YouTube yoga When I asked my ob she basically said anything I had been doing I could continue doing aside from laying on my back for extended periods. She was not concerned about core work or weight lifting specifically- those were the things I had asked about. Even being used to working out, I found myself getting winded fairly quickly and even left Zumba half way through one day because of it.
