flamingo how are you liking Mops? I just joined this fall as well and am hoping to make a few good friendships from it. I don't do much at all, except for the occasional night out with my sister, which is probably why I always feel burned out. I haven't even read a full book in over a year, and I love reading. Time/$$, you know? I do want to start working out again this year, and it sounds like I should prioritize mani/pedis more 😛💅 I like it so far! I do think it's one of those things where you get out of it what you put into it. This fall was busy for us so I missed several things b/c of travel, etc. I'm probably somewhere in the middle in terms of involvement but I'd like to do a bit more. What is nice about our group is that there are lots of spin-off's...so there's a book club, a few that do yoga, some that like to go out on Friday nights, etc. I'm going to get involved in the book club in the new year, several of the ladies I've started getting to know/like participate in that. How about you, good so far?

How about you, good so far? Are the mops groups usually religious? I’ve looked into it out here before and they all seemed based pretty steeply in regilion, which wouldn’t be a good fit for me.

I think it probably varies by individual group how much 'religion' is involved. The international MOPS organization (think of them like the national sorority organization, ha) does have a Christian perspective but each chapter is run independently. My group has not struck me as particularly religious yet. We do meet at a church (childcare is provided by volunteers in the same wing with the preschool), meetings open with a prayer, and then that's about it. There are women in our group who aren't religious and/or are not Christians, that I do know. If you look into it again, you might have to shop around and try different meetings; I joined this one b/c it's at our preschool, in our neighborhood, so it made sense, and luckily I liked it! But there are some women that drive from farther away b/c they liked our group better than what's closer to home.
