All this talk about school reminds me I need to get my elementary and high school records to enroll DD elementary school. I cannot wrap my head around the fact I even need to do this yet!

mrspiatt are the fevers predictible? A friend of mine, her daughter kept getting really high fevers like that every two weeks. Long story short, it was pediatric fever syndrome and she was cured by having either her tonsils or adenoids removes. I can’t remember how old her daughter was but it might be right around the same age.

Not much happening here. We went back to school last week. S1 missed the first day back because he was throwing up. I’ll enroll E inpreschool 3 days a week for 2.5 hrs. That will be for the fall.
I’ve had a monster cold. Finally kicking it.
The 7 hr surgery my dad had resulted in success. No chemo or radiation needed. So that’s awesome.

jedi no real pattern, but it does still technically have the criteria for periodic fever syndrome.

jedi- Jack decided I was done with my comment even though I wasn’t. Hodgkins is something that runs on my mom’s side of the family, I just learned that there were 3 cousins who had it not just 1, so her next fever I’ll discuss that with her doctor. I’m kind of hoping she just doesn’t get another fever though. Those were the 2 things that match up with her lack of symptoms and the timeframe between fevers

This weekend was nuts. A's fever was 1 off because she was fine by Saturday. I am feeling better and stopped the steroids the doctor prescribed because i couldn't sleep and the other side effects were horrible.
I am getting excited about the surprise trip my h has planned for me...i think we may be going to sedona...
A went back to school today - man those 2 weeks of winter break feel like forever!!

I’m pretty sure we are redshirting E. It’s pretty common here. I also can’t imagine him being ready for kindergarten in 1.5 years but I know a lot can change in that timeframe.
By the way, I thought s1 was strong willed. Goodness was I wrong. I hope I survive threenager hell

The twins finally go back to school tomorrow. I've appreciated being able to spend time with them, but this has been a LONG break, lol! Abigail went back to school today, but she only goes M,W,F, so I won't have a kid-free morning until Wednesday. It will be the first time in almost 3 weeks!

I forget this isn’t the norm for others. Where I live all kids, by law, must enroll in french schools. However, you can apply for an english school eligibility certificate if you can prove a parent (or immediate relative) completed their education in english. If granted you have access to apply to an english school. Hoops for days to bypass the french language laws.

jedi, me too. I am seriously sad that I am not there. But with all the sickness in my house and other things, it was best to stay back..seriously, 1 year I am going up a day early so we can hang.

We are about to get a significant snowfall here. People are freaking out because this city isn't very experienced in handling that so it's usually a shit show. The bad news is that I have to go to the grocery store this morning otherwise we'll likely run out of milk for the kids. I'm dreading the lines and the craziness. Apparently the stores were a zoo yesterday, I'm afraid to see what's going on there this morning. I hope the shelves aren't bare.

It's still snowing and it looks like we'll have 12+ inches of snow here before all is said and done. The kids are thrilled. The city is advising everyone to stay put, so we'll be spending the day digging out, playing in the snow, sledding down our front lawn, and drinking hot chocolate.

45thparallel , I really wanted DS in a french school but it didn't work out. Looking back I am really relieved we didn't go that route given the reading issues we've been facing the last 2 years. DD on the other hand could handle french easily I think. And I feel kind of bad thinking that about 1 kid vs the other but I guess that's just reality.

My philosophy is that each kid is different and comparable opportunity doesn’t mean identical If it help, my kids who are exposed to both on a daily basis and live in both are very different in their abilities.

Hello everyone! I have not been around in forever! I hope everyone is doing well! Things are good in the redandblue house. Aside from some recent/current viruses, M has been doing well! His language is great which makes him much more reasonable to deal with (generally). We are also having to register for full day kindergarten to start in September. I’m curious to how that will go, but he currently attends full time daycare so hopefully the transition will be fine. DS1 is doing well. Working and figuring out life. He is starting to be a much more reasonable individual to be around. On a whole both the boys have stopped most of their tantrums and are enjoyable to be around! I know it won’t always be this way, so I’m enjoying it while I can. As for me, I working on being healthier, doing a couch to 5km program and using the Noom app. Down 8 lbs and feeling good. It’s been a year since we moved to our new house and we absolutely love it here!
