For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3. What would you title this chapter in your breastfeeding journey? 4. What is your LO's name for nursing? Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms? GTKY: Do you have any goals or challenges for yourself in the new year?

Hi ladies, I haven't posted here in quite some time, but I wanted to pop in really quick and just say thank you to all here (and previous iterations of this board/site) for your immeasurable BFing support and advice! As of yesterday, after 3 years, 1 month and 6 days, my LO and I are done nursing. It was such a rough start, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. I never intended for us to nurse this long, but he never wanted to stop and I never really did either. I definitely cried a bit last night but I feel okay about it today. He and I talked about it in advance (one advantage of nursing an older kiddo!) so he knew it was coming and said he was okay with it. There was no one deciding factor to stop now, I just felt ready and considering we sort of inadvertently dropped the morning nursing a few weeks ago with no drama whatsoever, and with him starting preschool and me heading into tax season the timing felt right. I'm a little nervous to see what bedtime looks like tonight without it, but he's an easy kid to get to bed typically, so hopefully that holds true without the nursing part of the routine.
Anyway - thanks again, and good luck to you all! <3
