Do you take a break after the madness of holiday crafting or do you dive right into new projects?

I still have to finish the throw blanket I am making as a gift for my mom. (She knows about it. I wrapped one of the skeins and included a note that said some assembly was required.) After that, I was going to take a month or so off before learning to crochet, but I have a new niece or nephew coming this summer so I will need to get started on that.

I have more pj pants I need to make the boys and a few projects that were supposed to be presents for people I have not yet seen. And my grandma gave me another project request. She makes bear blankets for all grandkids and now great grandkids and she needs me to make the noses and mouths using my embroidery machine. So I’ll do that this week hopefully.

I was given a serger and still need to figure out how to use it. It is new to me, so I need to figure out how to oik it up. Then I'm going to be attempting some upcycling things.
Attempting some crocheted rugs from the fabrics I have and haven't used or are scraps. So far so good, no pics yet.

I might take it to the sewing place and see if they can clean it and show me how to oil it. Since I should probably be doing that. 🤷🏼♀️

I think I just got myself into a whole new area of projects. I inquired this morning about a job as an at home sewist sewing the letters and patches on letter jackets for a local sporting goods store. They currently have 90+ jackets needing done and only one person working on them. Once these are done it will be time to start into baseball season and sewing letters on the jerseys and piping on pants.

A friend bought a my little pony crochet kit and we are sharing the patterns and yarns from our stashes to make them for our kids. I started with rainbow dash. I made the wimgs but just havent attached them yet. Aside from water balloons, this is the most complicated thing I've crocheted, but it isnt as hard as I thought it would be.

Hello! New here!
I have so many things I'd like to start but I picked up two balls of yarn and two crochet hooks today and immediately put them back down so I guess I'm not quite ready to get back into it yet. What I'd really like to do is put a quilt on and make my kids each a new one over the winter.

I got the job doing the varsity jackets. I’m going to be turning my 2 weeks notice in at my waitressing job so I can do this instead. I enjoy it more and I don’t have to talk to the public or miss out on dinner and bed time with my kids anymore. I might have to work more hours to get the same pay (it’s pay per piece I sew on) but I get t set my own hours. I’ve done a couple so far and really enjoy it. The guy said he has a bunch of jackets needing done and can keep me busy for a while.

I am about fifteen rows from finishing the throw blanket for my parents. At my knitting group yesterday, I started another baby blanket. (Family member pregnant.) I would have liked to take my mom's blanket and get it done, but it's overflowing my work basket at this point. I have a shawl that I want to make that I think is going to become my busywork project for awhile. I bought several skeins of cotton yesterday so at some point, I can figure out how to crochet. Someone ( honeylemon, I think) recommended beginning with dishrags.

C got new pj pants today. Simple flannel pants using the Walk the Plank pattern from patterns for pirates. I need to get more elastic so I can finish R’s pants too.

I have so much I want to do and so little time/energy to do it! Maybe if I write it down, I'll muster the energy to work on at least one thing.
Need to make a Hufflepuff dice bag for my BFF's belated xmas present Need to make some kind of curtain panel to cover the glass next to my office door for when I pump (currently using an old ugly curtain, want something cuter) Hem our new-ish living room curtains so they don't touch the floor anymore. Suck pads for MH's new baby carrier. More cloth pantiliners Wet bag for my pump parts at work.
I did manage a couple more late Christmas presents before we went on a trip to visit my family a couple of weeks ago: vinyl/fabric valet trays for my mom and grandma and a Minnie Mouse stuffed animal sack/bean bag for my niece.

(This bitch, I know. I just got lucky with it.) honestly, I rarely have tension issues unless I keep working and don’t tug out more yarn.

heyo!
I'm going to jump in here. I sew and quilt and finally found my mojo again. I made some hot/cold rice packs this week and have more to make.

So I have a baby shower to go to Saturday. I should probably get busy sewing for that. Oops. I think I have enough of the fabric I want to use. Baby is due in March (though she was having issues and they had to stop contractions and bleeding yesterday soooo maybe a premie if her uterus doesn’t cooperate) and they live in Florida but spend a lot of time up here too because family. I’m so torn on whether to do long or short sleeves. I’m going to do the doodlebug romper from peekaboo like I made for my friend. Thoughts on sleeve length? ETA- like this

I would do short. She can always layer a long sleeved onesie underneath or a jacket.

I recently rediscovered Perler beads, which I loved as a kid. I’m working on a set of My Little Ponies for my kid and made a lantern magnet for a gift exchange

I dive right in, I finished a few toques, one sock, started the next sock and have been painting up a storm. Once I finish the paint picture I get to start a quilt!
