How old is your LO? 6 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? nursing on demand at home, pumping 3x a day at work
4-8 mo Any teeth or signs of teething? Is it affecting BF? DS3 just got his bottom two teeth. he was going through a biting phase but i think he's finally done with that since both teeth have broken through the gums by now.
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? still hanging in there. just in the last week or two, DS3 has really taken an interest in food, so that takes a little of the pressure off for pumping. i hope that i can cut back to pumping 2x a day around 7-8 months like i did with DS1 and DS2.
Gtky: if you could pick one memory/experience from 2018 to do again in 2019, what would it be? watching DS1 bonding with DS3 when he was a newborn was really sweet.

How old is your LO? 4 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Ebf, better than ever
4-8 mo Any teeth or signs of teething? Is it affecting BF? He is teething and a bit cranky. Other than being a bit more fussy during a feed it hasn’t affected us too much yet.
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? sahm
Questions/AW? We start a class in 2 weeks and I’m hoping to feed him beforehand and have him get thru the class and feed at home after. I do not want to have to feed during the class because I will also be monitoring my 3 yo. Just something I’m anxious about. I took the semester post baby off and now I’m going to start forcing myself to figure out outings. I will have a pumped bottle for back up worst case scenario for the first class.
Gtky: if you could pick one memory/experience from 2018 to do again in 2019, what would it be? We did a babymoon that I would repeat in a heart beat, it was incredibly relaxing

::waves:: DS2 turns 1 on Monday so this is my last week here. I've stopped pumping but am visiting the inlaws. I will probably pull out the hand pump tomorrow to get a small bottle so we can go out with my sis and her dh. I'm excited for adult time!

How old is your LO? 1 week old
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? I'm nursing, my milk just came in on Wednesday.
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with? I use the football hold with a Bobby. I tuck a muslin swaddle under his head and use a blanket on the under side of the boppy for extra support of his body.
DS had a tongue tie that was really reflecting his feedings. They did a frenulum clip in the hospital and they didn't go back far enough. He ended up losing 11 oz from when he was born to his first check in. It was very upsetting. The pediatrician did a second one in office and it seemed to correct it for sure this time. Right now i'm working on getting his schedule corrected and feeding him as much as possible during the day. Things have really turned around in the last 24 hours but I have felt so much guilt that he wasn't getting what he needed.
Questions/AW? I'm starting to get the hang of things so I might have to come back to this.
Gtky: if you could pick one memory/experience from 2018 to do again in 2019, what would it be? We went to Yellowstone and it was absolutely amazing!

How old is your LO? 9 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing on demand. Going great.
9-12mo What’s something BF related that you worried about when pregnant or with a newborn that turned out fine? I think I was more nervous to breastfeed this baby than my first. I breastfed DS1 for 2 years before weaning and I just worried that I’d forgotten how to latch a newborn or that DS2 wouldn’t nurse as well as my first. I don’t know, I just felt some weird pressure for some reason (pressure from myself, not anyone else). Joke’s on me though because DS2 is the clingiest boob baby that ever was and still refuses to take milk from a bottle and hasn’t mastered the cup.
Questions/AW? I know eating peppermint can sometimes be harmful for milk supply, but what about peppermint oil? We’ve all had colds and have been putting peppermint in the diffuser. I haven’t noticed any difference in supply but didn’t know if I should slow down the peppermint or not.
Gtky: if you could pick one memory/experience from 2018 to do again in 2019, what would it be? We took a trip down to the local lake with my mom and sister over an extended weekend. It was just fun for us all to be together.

How old is your LO? 6.5 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing and supplementing. It's going.
4-8 mo
Any teeth or signs of teething? Is it affecting BF?
Yes, and I think so? He's super drooly, chomping on everything, the teeth are RIGHT THERE, but haven't broken through yet. His eating habits are either going hours in between feedings, or wanting to go on the boob every 20 minutes, latching for like 30 seconds, and then popping off. I'm just glad that I'm not back to work yet so I can focus on this.
Questions/AW? I'm proud of myself. Over the holiday, I NIP at a shooting range, in an airport terminal, and on an airplane lol
Gtky: if you could pick one memory/experience from 2018 to do again in 2019, what would it be? Getting to spend the holidays with my entire family =)

Foxy welcome! Sorry for the rough start! Glad you got the tie satisfactorily revised. How are things now? dorothy no solid research on peppermint- it’s kind of like galactologues, some women are affected and some aren’t. If you notice a dip in supply, you can stop the peppermint and nurse or pump a little extra to tell your body to yup production again.

How old is your LO? - 6.5 mo
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? - nursing, going well
4-8 mo Any teeth or signs of teething? Is it affecting BF? - no teeth but he is miserable working on them. He was up for at least an hour last night chewing on my finger or the teether I finally gave him. Just like DS1, this baby doesn’t seem to like to comfort nurse when teething.
Questions/AW?
Gtky: if you could pick one memory/experience from 2018 to do again in 2019, what would it be? - I always kick myself when I ask a GTKY I don’t have an answer for! But I did think of something. My grandmother passed away last fall, and I wish I could spend the day with her again.

dorothy, i like to drink peppermint tea occasionally, and from what i've read you'd have to drink quarts for it to have an effect on your supply. i'm sure the same goes for candies (many of which have artificial peppermint flavor anyway), and any kind of diffuser. with the diffuser you're not actually ingesting it, so i'm not sure how it could decrease your supply...?

I assumed since I wasn’t ingesting it I’d be fine but then I started googling and a couple places mentioned dips in supply with the diffuser. 🤷🏻♀️ I haven’t noticed anything so I think we’re good.

How old is your LO? 5 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing at home, pumping at work. Struggling to balance with daycare so that I pick up a baby who is ready to eat at the end of the day, but we're working on it.
4-8 mo Any teeth or signs of teething? Is it affecting BF? Nothing yet, but the process has started, I can tell - lots of drool, and gumming on everything.
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? I just had the last two weeks off, so today is my second first day back. I need to get my body back on my pumping schedule, but it's going just fine.
Gtky: if you could pick one memory/experience from 2018 to do again in 2019, what would it be? Introducing DD and DS at the hospital.

How old is your LO? 16 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing - it's going well
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with? Cradle hold during the day and sometimes side laying at night or in the early am. She's getting over a cold which hasn't been too fun. Thankfully she hasn't been too stuffy in her nose for it to effect her nursing very much, so we've still been doing well with nursing through the sickness.
Questions/AW? Nothing right now
Gtky: if you could pick one memory/experience from 2018 to do again in 2019, what would it be? This may sound crazy but the birth of DD, her meeting DS, and the whole newborn phase. It was all so much easier than I had anticipated and I just want to go back and soak it all in again.

How old is your LO? 12 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing and now pumping at work and MH bottle-feeds (he is a stay-at-home parent). Nursing is going great, he eats frequently (every two hours or less) when awake, but typically takes some decent naps, so it seems to even out. Bottle-feeding was a bit of a challenge, we made the mistake of not consistently giving a bottle while I was on leave and then he got RSV and refused to take one for a couple of weeks. He's finally taking a bottle decently after we did a week of bottle boot camp before I started back at work. Pumping is going fine, I really like my Spectra and am getting good output (I tend toward oversupply). So far, he's only drinking 10 oz or so while I'm gone, so I've got some extra for my freezer.
