I am still giving mostly bottles at home mostly out of laziness. I can put milk, juice or water in and I know he will drink all of it. With the sippys he will take a few sips and just drop it somewhere. He had been sick and we were dealing with some constipation issues but he should be passed that now but I haven't made much of an effort. I need to get him down to a bottle in the morning and at night and then get rid of them completely from there. With DS1 I think he was about 16 months or so but that was mostly his bedtime bottle.
I can't tell if L is teething or have tummy issues or what but we have been having some times where he is inconsolable no matter what I seem to do. It is stressful. I am hoping it is molars because at least he has a couple that have poked through so there might be some end in sight. He was up until 3:30 the other night so I was pretty exhausted yesterday.

pootsen We use First Years sippy cups, the hard tops that are single piece. They don't leak and apparently A has decided he can drink out of the release hole. We tried their soft tops ones and the boys just shoved their fingers into them and stretched them out. I can't remember who else, was it cakewench? Try straw cups too. They have ones that the straw is attached to the lid, my oldest had better luck with those.

My DD hasn't really figured out straws, she just bites them. But she likes her nuk sippy cup for milk and 360 cup for water. She nurses 2-3 times a day either morning, before bed and middle of the night and then has 4oz milk twice a day and water whenever. I'm really not sure if that's a good combo or not 🤷 will probably start cutting back on nursing in the spring. I wish she'd sleep through the night more often! I've been trying to not nurse her in the night, but that is not working 😫

I've been up since 3am because both my kids hate sleep. I got a whopping 4 hours. I have an 11 hour day which includes an observation and I'm super pissed about it. I don't understand what is happening with the sleep situation in my house right now! Solidarity sister. I spoke too soon about E sleeping better yesterday. Last night he didn't sleep great and was up for almost 2 hours before he fell back to sleep. For basically the whole month of December, I was getting only 4 hours a night. The last 2 days N has been up before 5 again so that makes the end of the day so much fun. Good luck with your observation today. I have one next Friday. Thanks. I haven't gotten my scores back but my observer was seemingly impressed enough to ask if could go assist a first year teacher being eaten alive at another district school, so I assume it went well. I have another one with my principal Monday. He completely forgot to show up to my one scheduled in October and I've finally got him locked down for another attempt. Two in three days blows. Observations are the pits, but it is what it is and guess.

Morning!!
I took the kids to my parents house so my H could sleep and I wouldn't have to try to keep them quiet. It's also nice to have extra hands! It's supposed to get up to 45 today so I'm hoping you can help get the kids outside too.

Ds1 had a good last day. He had fun, participated, and listened well. Not surprising since the teacher he has an issue with isn't there on Fridays. 🙄 I talked to a couple other moms with kids in the class and they have concerns as well. I'm going to call on Monday or Tuesday just to let the assistant director know about our experience with her. It sounds like she bullies everyone. Kids, parents, assistant teachers, admin staff, etc. There's a thread on my local mom's group and the school is getting a bad reputation because of her.
Ds1 came home and immediately came over to tell me that he loves me. The change has been wonderful and so quick. I love seeing him happy. Dh is happy that I seem more like myself too. We actually dtd last night for the first time in awhile and both sober (we are doing dry January). It was really wonderful. I'm feeling optimistic. Now I just need to get my work done lol.
Hope everyone is having a good Saturday! And that all the poor sleepers are sleeping better. Ds2 only had one wake up last night.

Went out with friends last night. I'm very hungover this morning. Hoping to get the kids down for a nap soon so I can eat some trash food and rest a little.
H is fishing all day tomorrow and ds3 is having a friend over to play. I hope the weather is somewhat cooperative so they can go outside and get some fresh air

Hello! I’m at work picking up some extra hours. Then we’re going to Costco, target, and back home to grill steaks for dinner. Should be a nice little Saturday!

Not worth it lol. I can nurse him for 15 minutes and he will go back to his crib willingly. 🤷 Maybe one day.

Happy Saturday, all! I started my day with a workout, and my friend came with me which was nice. Then I volunteered to take DD1 to swim class... dD2 is just at a tough age for us all to go. She would be clawing us to get off our laps or out of the stroller, and she can’t quite play on the playground yet. So H stayed home with her which she was happy to do. We finished swim class and now we are on the playground. We have to stop at Target to pick up a card and gift card for my cousin’s daughter’s bday party this afternoon, and then I’m picking up CFA for lunch. Great Saturday so far! It will be nice to see my cousin and the kids and my aunt this afternoon. I have been neglecting my extended family recently.

It’s around 40 degrees and rainy here today, so it’s basically the ickiest weather I can think of. We’ve had so much rain the last few months that I just couldn’t mentally force myself to run outside in it today, so I went to the gym.
My H went to NY (3 hour ride) to pick up car parts today, so I’m alone with E all day. Once she’s up from her nap, we’ll head to the grocery store, and I want to stop at the liquor store too. I’ve got no beer or wine in the house and want to drink later!

I tried to get E on her bike because she asked earlier but then changed her mind. Smart me would have waited until nap time to run so I could have gone outside.

Hi there! I haven’t reviewed the 5 (!) pages yet. What did I miss this week?! Ha
Cloudy colder day so we are laying low today. Finally putting ds’s Seat in the second car in preparation for actually having a dc drop off with him. Our civic is so small much luckily dh fits ok with both still RF.

On my way home from my sister’s house. My niece turned 6 today. N is actually staying and spending night with my mom. This is a pretty big deal. The only time we’ve been away from each other over night was when I was in the hospital after having E.
I had my hair done this morning. I’m in new growth hell. All this new hair growing in that is at the worst length. I look like I have so many cow licks. Hopefully, a trim and some highlights help hide them.

My new growth is bright blond and with my huge forehead it looks like I'm balding 😒 So I actually went the opposite and just dyed my hair black. It's the semi-permanent so it will wash out (I have experience with black permanent dye, and man is that a PITA to grow out and lighten). I no longer look bald .... kinda lol

The sitter just did a test run dinner, bath, and bedtime while H and I worked in the basement. She did really well and the kids were good for her too! So close to feeling ready to vacation! 🤞

It was almost 60* here today...in January! My mom and I took the boys to the zoo after they got haircuts. It was a wonderful day and everyone was so well behaved. Dream day, really.
Tonight N was chomping down on a plastic knife so I stuck my finger in his mouth and found a molar 😳 DS1 didn’t get his first molars until he was almost 2 so this was a shock. He has the 4 middle on the top and the bottom two middle. I figured he would get the lateral incisors on the bottom before molars but I guess not. The one on the other side is swollen and almost through too.

I can see two more top teeth in the front cutting too.

C has 12 teeth- four middle top, four middle bottom, and his first four molars 😬 the molars sucked but they all came in at the same time.

I'm scared to put my fingers in ds2's mouth. Lol. He's got the middle two top and bottom. Then the next one on both sides on the top. So six total. I know he's working on more, but he's a little shark so 🤷

We have 4 on top and 3 bottom but he's drooling up a storm so I'm sure more are on the way!
We took down Christmas last night and as much as I love the cheeriness I'm happy to have space back lol.
Kohl's has some great deals on flannel sheets sets so I'll be picking some up for ds1 today but otherwise we will be hermits haha

Also I bought three new cups for ds2 to try. A soft spout sippy, a hard spout with valve and a weighted straw cup. So far the weighted straw cup is the winner- he's actually swallowing most of the water instead of letting it all spill out of his mouth. I haven't tried the soft spout yet so that will be with milk and lunch and he couldn't figure out the hard spout one.

Man ds only has 4, and the top two are still working their way down. Not surprised since dd didn’t even get her 3rd tooth until 13 mo

B has 4 on top, 2.5 on bottom, and is working on molars on bottom.
It’s been a blast.
Luckily my new short hair is mostly hidden by my mane unless I pull my hair up. But I pretty much have bangs not by choice.
I’ll probably keep growing it all out and cut it off to donate in the spring. By then it should blend better with my layers.

I tempted fate. Ds2 has a top canine top coming in. He was really persnickety at dinner only wanting softer foods so it's annoying him.

Well, I found out that ds2 doesn't actually hate soy milk. He loves it- when it's in his bottle... I'll keep trying sippy cups but at least I know a way to get it in him!
