Even though our first board baby is here and our second one will arrive in five days or less, let’s have some fun.

Your maternity shirts don’t quite cover your entire belly.

... You're counting down the days until alcohol can be consumed.

When you know you'll actually be able to sleep better with a newborn at home rather than waking up every 45 minutes to pee/attempt to change positions/adjust all your pillows.

dashookI am totally not a "leggings as pants" person - I usually just wear long shirts/tunics that completely cover my butt. But, I totally gave up on that. I have approximately 4 tank tops that still cover my whole belly and just meet the tops of my leggings. So that plus an open cardigan is my current go-to. I figure my butt in leggings has to be better than seeing the bottom 6-8 inches of my belly! Someone needs to make longer maternity shirts!

You have the appetite of a hippo but the stomach capacity of a box turtle.

You are living in the bath tub.

You are living in the bath tub. Did this once on third trial with ds1. More of a "when you get stuck in the bathtub" situation.

Even red raspberry leaf tea gives you heartburn.

When you finally cave into watching Bird Box (or whatever it's called) and cannot fathom why they would choose to push laying down when it wasn't required.
Labor is all that's on my mind recently...

I watched it last night and had this EXACT thought!! Like, could they choose a more uncomfortable way to push?? I know they were both first time moms but damn, the old lady seemed to know what she was doing! I swear pushing was way easier and faster with DS2 in part because I got to be up and crouching instead of laying back.

I know they were both first time moms but damn, the old lady seemed to know what she was doing! I swear pushing was way easier and faster with DS2 in part because I got to be up and crouching instead of laying back. Any and every thing you read on unmedicated childbirth recommends basically any other position. When you’re laying on your back you’re working against gravity. Side story: I pushed for 5 hours with DS. At one point I asked if I could try getting up on all fours to push, but the OB shot that down quick, saying we weren’t trying to turn the baby so there was no point (?!). This time I’ll know better how to advocate for myself.

dashook, I'd be pissed of my OB told me that. The midwife on duty when I had DS2 asked why I was up in the bed like I was and the nurse told her she wasn't going to ask me to move and that was that. Not that there was time for anything else.

I think this doubles as exercise at this point.
