We took our tree down on Friday. Usually we keep it up until New Years but it has really started to dry out so much. E went to pull himself up with it (he had been really good about leaving it alone) and ended up pulling the tree over. Luckily my H was right there and moved him out of the way. So we were like, I guess we’re taking the tree down today. I love having a tree but once it’s gone I do enjoy having that space back. Especially with all the new toys. As the next week goes by I’ll slowly start putting the other decorations away.

Did not plan dinner, ran to the local store and grabbed way too many pizzas for $1.88 to ensure we have enough "crap, we didn't start dinner" nights. Pizza for everyone! I was just telling my H our basement freezer is getting empty and I need to fill it with easy to prepare dinners. It’s so nice to not worry about dinners when I’m on vacation but it sucks when we are all back to work.

I would like to take down Christmas today. It has to be today or tomorrow because then I go back to work. H has some weird limbo time off between jobs this week, so maybe I'll leave it for him. He's left me a very disproportionate amount of house work and parenting lately while he has the never ending man flu, so maybe it's only fair. Sounds fair to me! I’ll de-Christmas the house tomorrow most likely. I like keeping the tree lit for NYE. H and I are both back to work Wednesday though, so I do want to get it done tomorrow. Today, I want to return some stuff and maybe use some gift cards. I’m also hoping to pull out the clothes that no longer fit E and put them in totes.

We still have steaks left, even after trading my parents for more ground. It is nice having it down there, but when we are out, we flail at last minute.

Our butcher shop does 40# boxes of ground beef and sausage. We buy them when they go on sale. We tried the cow once but H isn’t a steak eater.

Good morning! We took Christmas down on Saturday and it felt good. DH and I went to the packer game yesterday and it was so much fun, despite the embarrassing loss. I’m still thinking about the brat I had - it was covered in griddled cheese curds on a pretzel bun. Nom.
At work til 5 today then DH and I are going out to dinner for NYE. Then home to watch a movie and ring in the new year whilst sleeping lol.

One I've been to is a bit more than I prefer to pay. But our neighborhood store does a deal for buying 3# of their fresh ground beef and I think they do meat boxes too. They are more known for their meat counter -often times there are more people working back there than in the entire store.

They sell meat and beer. We go often. They have a mailing list and send out the ad weekly so we just watch for deals.
