It’s super sweet and will knock you on your butt. Sooo delicious.

In other news, L and I are going to hit up Art a la Carte today. They are doing something with Bells and L seemed to really like the bells when we did caroling and the cookie exchange. My goal for my week and a half off is to get out the house once a day. Tomorrow, we get the oil changed in my car! My BFF is visiting Saturday and Sunday so we'll be hitting up the Museum of Science for their All Aboard! train exhibit! We'll also test L out in a movie because they have Thomas playing. dashook , we'll be heading there Saturday if you wanted to meet up! In case you want to go Wassailing among the leaves so green: Ingredients 2 apples 8 cups apple cider 2 cups orange juice 1/3 cup lemon juice 4 cinnamon sticks 15 whole cloves ,or 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 Tablespoon light brown sugar , optional Instructions Poke the whole cloves into the apples on all sides. Add all of the ingredients, including the apples, to a large pot over medium low heat. Bring to a simmer. Simmer for 30-45 minutes. Remove the apples and whole cloves. Ladle into mugs and enjoy!

M and I are headed to Michaels and the UPS store soon to get some crafts and a package that needs to be signed for. Tonight I have a hair appointment and for the first time probably 15 years won’t be getting any color in it. I’m hoping regular trims keeps everything looking nice enough that I actually follow through with growing it out.

I have a hair appointment at 1:30 today. When I set it up that early, I thought H would be off work by now. But he's not and it's also right in the middle of nap time so I have to figure out what to do. I can see if my mom can come here or I can take him over there before nap time.
The next few days leading up to Christmas are going to be crazy. We have to go grocery shopping, finish Christmas gift shopping, clean up the house. Saturday we have a Christmas party in the evening and Sunday H is still planning on going to the Lions game even though we have to prep for Christmas dinner AND my sister will be staying with us. I'm ready for a break lol

goldenlove is that one of the stadiums with a dome? I’m not sure I could handle being out in the weather for an entire football game this time of year.

I honestly don't think it would stop them though. They usually still tailgate in this weather and H has gone to Chicago in December for a game before which is open. Huge nope for me.

Oh helllll no And lol I kept going back and forth not knowing if the whole stadium was called a dome or if the roof was the dome. Football is on all day every weekend and it’s amazing how good I’ve gotten at tuning every little bit of it out. Does your H just assume there will be all this extra time for the meal prep and everything else that needs to be done? Mine is like that. Or he thinks the 6 hours of stuff he needs to do will take only 3...and is then extremely surprised when he runs out of time to do stuff.

Hey ladies. I just finished baking 3 dozen GF/DF sugar cookies and am taking a break to get H to nap. My mom and neice (mom has temporary care of her now) are coming over after school to have supper and decorate the cookies with the boys.
That Grinch drink looks amazing. I would absolutely try it. Since I don't drink much I never buy different mixes as it takes forever to finish it. I'll likely just drink wine or vodka-cranberry as usual.

I normally just like a glass of red wine. No liquor for me since college.
I got it into my head that I wanted to make Christmas sugar cookies yesterday so I go to the store and the cookie isle looks like a hurricane in coming! Completely empty. Only blue and pink colors left. I’m going to try Walmart today. It’s pouring though so I haven’t went yet.

I was at a Seahawks game when it snowed hardcore once. Our stadium is open too. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty miserable. But we beat the Packers, so that helped! And I am very thankful I was with my friend and he knew what roads to take to get out of there quick. Seattle doesn't do well with snow and apparently it was taking people 5+ hours to get home. My parents were at the game also and I got home a good 2 hours before them

I didn't check for sprinkles. You could also try a Michael's if you have one near you. You might have better luck there.

I asked if he REALLY had to go since their season is over anyway. He said he's only going because a friend of his from out of town is going. So whatever. Hopefully they leave early and he gets home at a decent time.

You guys.
I feel like such an asshole.
We have our team Secret Santa gift exchange today and at about 11pm last night I remembered I still need to wrap my gift. So I go to the giant pile of Amazon boxes sitting on the stairs and start opening them. Get through them all and... no secret santa gift. I check my Amazon orders since it was supposed to be delivered Tuesday and it's now not going to be here until today or tomorrow. My co-worker that I got is out tomorrow. I did have one small thing for him, so I still wrapped that and then added a card with a print out of the Amazon page. If I get it tonight I'll put it on his desk tomorrow, but he still won't get it until after Christmas.
I know he won't be upset. He is legit the nicest guy on the planet. I am not joking. And I think I feel even worse because last Friday night a giant ass tree fell on his house and so he's been living in a hotel for the past week and will probably be there for a long time because there is likely structural damage.
So yeah, I feel terrible.

jubilantsquirrel that is a perfect storm of guilt. My gosh. I'm sure he will understand but I totally understand why you feel so bad. Best advice is to sweeten the pot with some homemade treats.

jubilantsquirrel I’m so sorry. But to me, sometimes it’s the best when I get a present after the holidays. It helps with the huge downer that it’s the suck of January. And now you know which cookies are his favorite so you can add a small fresh batch just for him to it.

Oh but the kids are off all next week and H has to work so it'll just be me, the kids, and MIL who is also off. So really is it a vacation?

She's a little frosty and literally hasn't asked a single question about homes we've seen. Like we go see a house, come home, and she doesn't say a word about it. But otherwise no big incidents, just the usual eye roll worthy moments.
