We also give our mailman, garbage men, and recycling money. I think the mailman especially deserves it because he trudges through the snow and rain. He rarely gets a day off. Yes, our mailmen walk here, too, and the mailboxes are on people's front porches. Not an easy job.

Well, apparently my child is a medical mystery. The doctors can’t seem to figure out her hand issues. They do think it’s more nerve related than brain related though. So now she’s consulting with the nerve doctor and they will probably be doing more tests in the coming weeks.

Yay for a bonus @klongoria! chrisy01 she is a doll! Hi I’m finally checking in! My car had to go into the shop today so I’ve been home bound, which was actually kind of good. I had a bunch of cleaning/laundry/wrapping to do and without being able to get out to the gym or to run errands I got a lot of it done! Ask, this car place has the best customer service ever. When I called last night about bringing it in I confirmed they had a shuttle and told them I would have two of the kids with me. Right away the guy was like “oh no, I’ll just come get the car!” So he came to my house and got the car AND left me a car In case I needed to go anywhere. I did use it to drive Ryland to school instead of walking. It’s a Lexus and pretty nice and Ryland says he’s asking for one for Christmas! Lol. Dh just left to go get the car and I’m drinking an eggnog with rum and watching love actually. We are having a girls night and white elephant gift exchange at the sushi restaurant tonight and I probably need to get out of sweats and start getting ready!

That's frustrating peachsmama. How close is it to being done enough you can move in? Did the inspection go through? Are you going to be finishing the upstairs now that #3 is on the way?

Inspection hasn't happened yet. A's grandpa has to do final grade now that water lines are done. They also need to lay carpet. Then we can do the inspection. I mostly just want my office done upstairs. The baby will be with us for a while but with my office in our room there wont be much room for baby stuff. So I need that done asap.

I have complaints so I’m venting them here and then letting go. One of which may be unpopular.
1) I am turning over the intern program to someone else (thank goodness) and I organized electronic files, made checklists and wrote out every step in processing them. I sent it to her supervisor and her. They asked to have a meeting to go over processing. I wrongfully assumed they read my step by step and instead I spent an hour and a half answering questions that were right there on the sheet. I got frustrated at one point and asked if I could just read through the steps and they could ask questions as we went along because I needed to leave on time. They seemed miffed and annoyed which just annoys me more. Just read what I sent then ask questions!
2) at karate a mom sat next to me. She was meeting her husband who was already there. The first thing she says is “I’ve been nauseous all day. I don’t know what’s wrong”. No sooner were the words out of my mouth that I moved. She didn’t have to be there spreading her germs.
3) also at karate there’s these two parents who come and bring their 2-3 yo daughter. The daughter hates it and whines the whole time. Again, if you have a two parent household can’t one stay home with the other kid? I know you both want to see but class is twice a week. This is the one that might be unpopular because I am annoyed by a kid and judging a multi-child family when I never have had that experience.
Vent over! Moving on. Thanks for listing.
ETA: yes it was a testing night so I could see both parents wanting to be there. But the one with the other child that hates being there is always there.

C did earn his first stripe. He’s quite impressive and catching on super quick. The kids have been working towards this stripe test for two months now and C jumped in two weeks ago and killed it.

Hiiii from the other side of 2 days of client meetings! Things got tense late this morning so I was happy to see them all walk out the door. I even got out early enough to stop for gift cards for all the teachers and ordered a gift certificate for a guitar lesson for my niece. Still nothing for DH but I may drag Colin to the mall this weekend assuming I am finally feeling better.
I work tomorrow but not again until the 27th. I'm hoping the long weekend will progress Chase's potty training because he's still a wreck at school despite doing great at home. He even asked to get out of the tub tonight to poop. But yeah, school is another story.

wedding I agree with keep the other kids away if you have that option. When DD started gymnastics and was in mommy and me, people would come with one kid and like 6 adults. I think there were 8-10 kids in the class and 20 adults. If you want grandma and grandpa to have a turn then let them bring the kid and mom and dad stay home. Then the adults would be talking amongst themselves and the kids wouldn’t know what was going on. DH and I never get to sit and watch a kid do something together but that is no one else’s problem, we chose a large family.

wedding way to go C! I'm mixed on both parents going to routine practices. Mostly I use that time to space out so I don't even know why you'd want to make it a family affair. When they're in soccer we both go, but it's a field outdoors so there's tons of space. We also normally do something afterwards together. But closed in spaces with another child who is miserable? No. Although I give a pass for special events like belt tests.

DH and I never get to sit and watch a kid do something together but that is no one else’s problem, we chose a large family. This seems to be a recent trend that I do not understand...bringing the whole fam-damily to every. single. thing. Preschool orientation? Santa visit? Haircut? The more, the merrier! Except it's not, b/c other people have to be in those (generally small, confined) spaces with you. I witnessed a party of 6 adults watching a first haircut recently, and for C's toddler class orientation (5 kids), I think I was the only one there without members of our (adult) extended family. Craziness. Sometimes mH, C and I all come to B's events (a game, not just a practice), but if we bring the 2nd child and s/he gets bored or starts acting up, one parent will take that child out/away from the action so as not to be a distraction.

In regards to #3 there is no way I’d torture myself and my 2 year old with bringing her to karate practice if she hated it.

Shyly raises hand to going to things as a family. In my defence, my 2.5yo is very well behaved and we’d leave if she was acting up. We would not go to every single swim class all together, but the first/last 🤷🏼♀️.

We would not go to every single swim class all together, but the first/last 🤷🏼♀️. We all go to a good amount of stuff, it’s not that we never do. Hockey games, soccer, baseball-but all those are already out and the kids can run around. DD’s gymnastics meets however involve sitting still in one usually very tight space for several hours so there is no way (plus they are $15 each to get in).
