Age: 1 Milestones: So many words! His vocabulary has skyrocketed and he's talking all the time. He's also started counting, but mixes English and Spanish (like one, dos, three, four, cinco...). It cracks me up. Challenges: Ear infections. He's had three in the last 3 months and the antibiotics just get stronger and stronger. The pedi has mentioned a real review in June to see how he's doing. If he keeps it up, they may suggest having his tonsils/adenoids removed. I'm fine with that, but the idea of him under anesthesia is so scary. Funny/cute stories: We have an Elf on the Shelf (I know it's not for everyone, but my kids love it so shhhh). Anyway, he LOOOOVES the elf. Every morning he wakes up and says, "Where [elf name]?" and drags me all over the house, holding my hand, trying to find it. Then, when he does, he literally dances a happy dance and waves frantically yelling, "HI!" at the top of his lungs LOL How are you? Exhausted and so ready for the new year. Twenty-eighteen was a rough one for my family and I'm ready for a new start... whatever that may look like. Anything else? I got a raise at work! Found out yesterday! So that was cool QOTW: Probably that girl in the new The Santa Chronicles movie on Net.flix. It's a cute movie if you haven't seen it.

Age: Almost four Milestones: He's working very hard on the potty training. I know, I know, I'm a broken record. But I feel like we've made some progress since the encopresis debacle. He's willingly peeing in the toilet a couple of times a day. We met his new pediatrician yesterday, and she made a huge deal over him peeing. I was afraid we were in for a lecture about PTing a kid his size, but instead she told him how strong and brave he was for using the potty again after hurting his penis and then developing the encopresis. He's been very interested in DS1's school, so he's done some Montessori style early learning stuff, and he's really taking to it. It's fun watching him get so excited about learning something new. He's also showing a pretty strong preference for his left hand, which makes me weirdly nervous about teaching him to write. Challenges: We're having him tested for autoimmune disorders. His "growing pains" are getting extreme and starting to mimic JRA. Since that stuff runs in my family, we kind of did a shotgun approach to testing yesterday. The bloodwork was rough on the little guy. Funny/cute stories: Yesterday, DS1 said "I love you, brother" and DS2 said, "thank you. I know this because you told me before." OUCH, kid. Then this morning when I was getting him up, I said, "I love you, baby," and he said, "thanks. I like you." OUCH AGAIN, kid. Anything else? Nah. I'm excited about Christmas, but I'm over winter. QOTW: Harry Potter is totally a Christmas movie, right? I wanna be Hermione then. Or Ginny.
