Another 5:30 wakeup which isn’t good because we have a busy afternoon. B has a Christmas concert at school at 10 this morning. My mom is coming and will also be helping with J (DH is too busy with work) who I am sure will be running wild throughout the entire thing. B gets to leave early so we are going to take the kids to see Santa at the mall and have lunch. It’s going to be fun as long as J can hang and not have any meltdowns because he’s exhausted.

Doing some baking for my family's cookie exchange. I greatly overestimated how much batter I'd need so we're gonna have a lot extra lol. DH will be pleased at least.

I have no idea what day it feels like anymore, but at least this work week is almost over! Work will be another busy one today, but a cw and I are going to Olive Garden for soup, salad and breadsticks at lunch! H has today off so he’s taking L to her 2yr well check (I’m having mom guilt because I’ve never missed a well check for either kid) and he’s taking the kids to their last swim lessons this evening so I can stay late to wrap up some projects at work. I have dinner plans with two friends this evening and am hoping to come home to two sleeping kids!

M & I are going to see Beauty and the Beast tonight with my SIL & FIL, since my MIL is gone. The best part is they sell wine at the theater in an adult sippy cup so you can take it inside with you.

She was really good for The Lion King last year, but we were in box seats so she could stand up if she wanted to. She mainly sat on my lap and told me to stop singing. This time we're in the middle of the mezannine so she won't have an escape route. I already have candy in my purse. I need to remember to grab the headphones for my phone though.

It took me entirely too long to figure out why waitwhat put a camel in the thread title. And that about sums up my morning so far.

That sounds super fun tgrimes! This week needs to be over. I woke up thinking well at least it's Friday. Nope! Only Wednesday. Fuck. I'm home with two sick kids. Joy. And the school decided to get rid of half days for finals week. Same number of finals, just twice as long, so DH wont be home until the usual time. At least I have therapy at 2 so I get some sort of break. Planning to let Lillian help me make bread for gifts this morning.

I think our Christmas shopping is finally wrapping up.
MH got his dad a security camera for the front of their house and an echo dot. I got my dad a skull whiskey decanter and glasses and some whiskey. And I got some tequila for my uncle. My mom also sent me a link for lights for his boat he got this summer, so I'll get those as well.
I still need a couple more things for MH. He has a pile of boxes sitting next to his bed and they're all for me. I'm thinking a gift certificate to the wine and beer place by our house where he gets his growler filled and then probably some beer from there as well.
I was all set to do those man crate boxes, I had one picked out for each guy but the shipping to get them here before Christmas was going to be $68! So instead I'll keep those in mind for next year.

I’m off work, slept in, wrapping presents watching the price is right. I don’t even know what to do with myself! I’m all done with Christmas presents except for picking up some gift cards to supplement some presents.

Nothing too exciting going on here today. I took Gracie to her new vet this morning to check it out and update some shots. Then I let her and C play in our backyard since the ground was still frozen. C was loving the wooded area. I can't wait until we can finish it and put up a fence. There's a lot of work to do back there.
After H gets off work, we're going to a visitation for our friends grandma who just passed away.

I am suddenly getting email notification for HiH for every like and quote. I checked my settings and I have all email notifications set to "never". This is very annoying.

It was weird because the emails were going to my personal email, but I my proboards email address is a different junk one that I don't have synced up on my phone. But the tapatalk notifications are way delayed for some reason.

This head cold has been hanging on far too long. I did go to bed earlyish last night - and slept for 9 hours! - so I'm hoping that will help.
I need to go through everything and sort out what's going in A's and my H's stockings. I think I have enough stuff but it's always so hard to tell.

I don't do stockings because my MIL does them at her house. M of course informed me last night that Santa brings stockings to kids who listen. My MIL already told her that Santa wouldn't come to their house because no kids live there.
Who the fuck told my kid this nonsense?
Now I have to go buy stockings and shit to put in them.

I have a really terrible case of writer's block.
We're going after some video work for the UN HeForShe program (which seeks to get men to stand up for women's equality) and we want to completely blow up our bid and start from scratch and I just can't get this sumbitch going.

We have been running errands all day but due to timing issues we only got half done. M and DH got haircuts and we made it to an expensive grocery store for fancy cheese, Costco, picked up an extra table from our friend, and lunch with my grandpa. Now we are headed to special Olympics and then the cheap grocery store for everything else. Hosting Christmas is not a ton of fun right now. We did have cleaning ladies over today. My grandpa told me I'm a cheapskate because we only gave them $20 each for Christmas.

This brings up a good question... who do you tip/gift at the holidays? And is it based on if you see them (i.e. hairdresser)?
Our kids love watching the garbage men and they wave back and forth etc. I’ve never tipped them before but I am thinking about doing so now... but also wanted to give them a decent meat and cheese or goodies box... but....garbage truck. Not sure what to do, they’ll come Xmas Eve morning.
My hairdresser (who owns the salon) saw me on Nov 30 and I only tipped her what I normally do (20%) on top of product I buy from her etc. So if my bill is $300, she gets an extra $60. I can’t justify giving much more but am I being cheap?

kleigh unless you’re going to her for weekly blowouts (a girl can dream) she doesn’t fall under the holiday tipping umbrella. Especially since you’re tipping her every appointment. Holiday tipping is more for the people that are doing a service for you and you are in regular contact with and you aren’t giving them extra than the normal fee. It gets really expensive if you live in the city. Garbage men, mail carriers, frequent housecleaners, doormen, parking attendants, weekly personal trainers, janitors, babysitters, nannies. I only have the garbage men and mail/package carriers to gift here and they all get gift cards and a thank you holiday card.

Esp bc mail carrier has to get out of his truck bc either my mom or MIL block the damn mail box (normally he could just drive up to it). Our new year goal is to have a house cleaner but MH doesn’t get that the house has to be relatively clean for them to come. I’m like, they aren’t gonna move all this shit to clean the floors and dust.
