What are you making this season? Are there traditional Christmas foods you look forward to all year? Anyone making a great Christmas breakfast (make ahead is a plus).

Christmas Eve is the Feast of the seven fishes at my Aunt’s house. I’m happy to sit near the shrimp cocktail. I’m making a peppermint chocolate cheesecake for dessert there. They make strufuli, but no one ever eats it.
Christmas Day is just the three of us, but that doesn’t stop me from making a feast.
I’m torn on a casserole for the morning, so I’m been stalking the gd post on it. I’m leaning toward a made up casserole with corn muffins, bacon, spicy cheese, scallions and eggs.
We’ll do a cheese plate for apps. Dinner is a roast, whiskey glazed carrots and parsnips, balsamic Brussels sprouts with cranberries, and the pioneer woman’s the bread. I have a kale salad with kumquats and red onion on my list if I feel like it’s needed, but I’ll probably serve that one day during the week with chicken.
Dessert is ambrosia, bourbon balls, citrus marzipan balls, and a chocolate orange cheesecake.
And I’m thinking gimlets instead of plain G&Ts— makes it a little more festive with the bubbles.

Mmmm, I'm hungry.
Sunday we are doing church with friends and having them over for brunch! I've also been stalking the GD post. I'm thinking some sort of egg casserole, a French toast casserole, fruit and mimosas
Christmas eve we go to my in-laws and have stuffed cabbage, meatball stew, sausage, ect
Christmas morning we just do cinnamon rolls, coffee and baileys.
Christmas dinner at my parents is some sort of meat, twice baked potatoes, carrot casserole, salad and peppermint stick ice cream dessert (my fav) for, well, dessert haha

I was eyeing the casseroles on gd, but since Cadence can't do eggs, I'll likely make pancakes.

Well be at my parents Saturday and the ILs Sunday so we have Xmas Eve and day home!!
We will go to church with my sisters family and parents on Xmas eve and then it’s our year to have them over (we switch between our house and my sisters) just for an hour or so after church for appetizers and cocktails. I’m planning on charcuterie, shrimp cocktail, meatballs, smoked salmon and probably a dip of some sort.
Xmas morning we’ll do egg bake and donut holes. And since we don’t have to go anywhere, baileys in coffee, mimosas, and/or bloody Mary’s
We’ll probably just keep up the appetizers throughout the day instead of a big meal. Or maybe steak for dinner.
My girlfriends that I went to Temecula with and I just went in on a case of almond champagne that we all loved there. It’s going to be delivered Friday. That will be opened at some point too.

I usually do a French toast casserole and quiches on Christmas morning, but this year I may try a make ahead sausage & egg casserole or just do Chilaquiles Verdes. I am trying to balance this out with my NYD breakfast menu, because we are hosting brunch for H and Theo's birthday and I kinda want to go big.
No clue what we are having for dinner Christmas night, but it won't be Denny's, that's for sure 😉
Christmas Eve my aunt is catering in Maggiano's, yum!

I guess my stomach is feeling better b/c all this food sounds so yummy. Christmas Eve, my aunt always hosts a little party--ham, turkey, shrimp cocktail, etc. Christmas morning, we'll do either a quiche lorraine or sausage/egg casserole, with cheese grits. Always bloody mary's and mimosas. Sometime after lunch we'll switch to poinsettias. I think we're going to do some oysters as an appetizer. Dinner is always prime rib, twice-baked potatoes, a salad, and a vegetable of some sort. Southern Living traditionally puts a white cake on their December cover, and my mom likes to make it for dessert. This year the featured cake has a little gingerbread car on top so we'll see if she's up for the challenge I like to do some Christmas baking and this year we'll do chocolate snowflake cookies; my mom texted earlier that she got the ingredients for red velvet cookies (with red/green M&Ms) for the kids to make, so sounds like we will have lots of cookies to eat!

These were all done by the girls with a little help from me. The ones on this end are mostly all mine, done with a piping bag. (And a good coloring stained S) PDQ

Christmas Eve is going to be a little different this year. Normally we go to GMIL’s nursing home in the afternoon but her Alzheimer’s has gotten so bad that we aren’t doing that this year. We will go to MIL’s extended family Christmas celebration, which is potluck style. I haven’t even really thought about what to make/bring. I should probably get it figured out though since it’s less than a week away.
Christmas morning after opening gifts at home we go to the IL’s house for brunch. She makes Italian sausages, eggs, muffins, lefse and usually Christmas cookies/treats. She makes spritz cookies every year, they are not my favorite.
In the evening I’ve invited my sisters over for dinner. I think I’m going to do either loaded baked potato soup or a ham and mashed potatoes. And then we will have various sides.

It’s kind of like a tortilla made from potatoes. It’s Norwegian. We spread butter and sugar on and roll it up. www.thespruceeats.com/basic-lefse-recipe-2952663
