How old is your LO?: 5 1/2 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going?: Nursing on demand at home, pumping 3x a day at work.
4-8 mo What is something about breastfeeding you wish someone had told you on day 1?: i wish someone told me to get extra help from a LC after i left the hospital so i could've gotten help weaning DS1 off the nipple shield instead of struggling with it for like 2 months. also i wish someone had normalized for me that BF babies want to nurse near-constantly for the first several weeks. i had no idea how intensive it would be at the beginning and i got just about the least mellow baby in the world on top of it.
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going?: It's fine. I'm consistently pumping 12-13 ounces and DS3 is now taking 3, 4oz bottles at daycare. if my supply drops a little i feel comfortable sending in some solids instead at this point. he is interested in food for sure but would still have to be spoon fed. he can get his fingers to his mouth now but isn't really coordinated enough to get a piece of food in there to gnaw on.
GTKY: do you keep a journal?: i used to journal pretty consistently. i think it's helpful but i haven't made it a priority to find time to do it post-kids.

How old is your LO? 5 weeks!
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing, it's going well. He is still eating all the time and has started to develop some lazy sucking. We are doing some suck training to try to strengthen those muscles a but more.
0-3 mo Did you do anything to prepare for breastfeeding while pregnant? No, I was really excited to start nursing a baby again. I loved the closeness it brought with DS2 and I.
Questions/AW? None this week!
GTKY: do you keep a journal? I always want to be that person who keeps a journal or planner or something but I have never been able to stick to it.

Hi! I’m jumping in here! How old is your LO? 4.5 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing, and pumping at work. DS has gained more than 10 lbs since birth so I think we’re doing just fine!
4-8 mo What is something about breastfeeding you wish someone had told you on day 1? That I didn’t need to be shy about it. This time around I’m so much more open, and it’s making things so much easier.
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? I’m unhappy at my job, but DS is taking bottles like a champ. I’m pumping more than I ever did for DD (now 4.5) and it seems to be the right amount! We’ll start cereal in the new year.
Questions/AW? We send frozen milk on Mondays, and it seems to be upsetting his tummy. The first couple weeks it was pretty old (early September), but now we’re in to early November and it’s still happening. Is the milk really that different?
GTKY: do you keep a journal? Nope. I’ve always thought I ought to, but I need it to be perfect - same pen, same format, so I can’t get started.

LO is 11 months. I am nursing but stopped pumping this week!!! I have 8 work days till he turns 1 and have enough frozen to make the difference.
TTC: noooooooooo! We are 2 and through. I had my first first pp period this month and wasn't thrilled.
Gtky: no I'm not into journaling.

How old is your LO? 14 weeks tomorrow
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing - still going well!
0-3 mo Did you do anything to prepare for breastfeeding while pregnant? Not this time - I looked forward to it and was happy to be nursing a baby again. With my first I went to a short, free bfing class at my local BRU and did that free online course that Medela offered.
Questions/AW? Nothing right now!
GTKY: do you keep a journal? Not officially. Sometimes I keep some typed out thoughts digitally, but there's no order to them really. The 'entries' are usually from when I was struggling with something or angry or hurt about something. I guess I've used that as a way to let things out or to sort through my feelings.

potatocakes, the only thing that comes to mind is maybe lipase affecting the taste? check this page for troubleshooting: kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/milkstorage/lipase-expressedmilk/you could try just doing 1 bottle of frozen on mondays and doing the rest fresh from friday. you can store for 3-8 days. i usually freeze if i haven't used the milk after 4ish days and it has never smelled sour. i regularly give DS friday's milk on monday.

I don't think that's it because he doesn't mind drinking it, he just seems to spit up more. I just assumed that since milk changes over time, the older milk as different from the day to day milk, in terms of digesting. I also need to rotate through my stock so it doesn't age too much, so I'd either have to do one frozen bottle daily, or this setup, which is a bit easier for me.

How old is your LO? 6 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Pumping when at work & nursing on nights/weekends. It’s going. I’ve been sick twice since being back to work & my supply tanked both times. Add that to my period returning and I’m basicslly burning through my freezer stash. I still have a decent amount in the freezer but I’m feeling like it’s time to start pumping on the weekends.
4-8 mo What is something about breastfeeding you wish someone had told you on day 1? That illness will kill your supply. I never had that problem with my first.
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? All is well
Questions/AW? More of a rant than a Q/AW but DS is 12 lbs 3 oz & the pediatrician is concerned about his weight. She has me pushing baby foods & table foods even though we just started 1.5 weeks ago. I was under the impression they didn’t get many calories from baby food. My pedi feels differently. Also DS spits up a lot still so I know that’s not helping his slow weight gain. The pedi feels like the baby/table foods will help him keep the milk down and spit up less. So basically I’m over here feeling crappy.
GTKY: do you keep a journal? No

How old is your LO? 3.5 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. I start back at work next week, I plan to try to continue nursing by driving home for lunch as well as once in the morning and once in the afternoon to feed. I can pump too if I can’t make it back he will take a bottle. I own my business and it’s 5 mins from my house so we’ll make it work.
0-3 mo Did you do anything to prepare for breastfeeding while pregnant? Nope. He’s my second so I was laid back about it.
GTKY: do you keep a journal? Nope. I tried once but it felt like a chore so I stopped.

How old is your LO? 4 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing, taking it one day at a time still.
4-8 mo What is something about breastfeeding you wish someone had told you on day 1? Some babies will fuss even when they are full, it doesn’t mean they are starving or that you need to supplement if your ped says everything checks out. DS never seems satiated, but is gaining fine and otherwise pleasant.
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? currently sahm
Questions/AW?
GTKY: do you keep a journal? No, I would like to keep an online bullet journal someday

MauLoaM0M I’m sorry your pedi made you feel bad. Is LO dropping off his growth curve or just a small baby? You’re right that breastmilk is more calorie dense than table food.
