We have a ton of upgrades that this house needs and while my husband is very handy the projects take forever... One of our friends is in between jobs and was looking for work so we are paying him to do our basement remodel. The amount of work that was done in one day is unreal. I foresee us having him do a lot of the projects my H doesn't have time for. The flooring is going in tomorrow and I'm very excited!

Snow day number 4 here. It’s not snowing but freezing rain. So happy early vacation to me? The big has a party at preschool this morning and the little is already at daycare. I’m looking forward to a few hours without the boys. I do have some wrapping to do and I should probably finish my Christmas menu so I can go shopping tomorrow.

Today dh is Home too. Officially done with work this year!! Debating whether to do SS for the first time in months. I need to start packing.....

Morning, cookie exchange at work today. My first two trays were eh when I was baking last night so I ended up having to make a second batch to fill in. Needless to say I have an overabundance of lace cookies in my house right now. I am mentally checked out but need to get some things done at work since I'll be off most of next week.

jules1614 MH is extremely handy but takes forever on projects. He has yet to finish the laundry room he started before I went back to work last February.

Did SS and then got a SCM after as a treat. I only took DD, so that was a nice treat too!
Also I thought this was cute. Last night DD was amped up as we went to pizza. We passed a store with a surfboard and she started talking about surfing and how she wants a surf board daddy! 🤣 I could totally see her out with DH surfing in the next year

Sitting at the mall eating CFA before shopping. After 6 days home with B I needed to get out.
Pretty sure he had Roseola. He’s still sleeping like crap, but no fever and generally happy for the day so we sent him to dc.
I’m pooped and this weekend hasn’t started yet.
Also jelly of you all just now getting your periods back. Mine came back in September and I’m still nursing.

rooskie, ditto on the being pooped and the weekend hasn't even started yet! DD is great, but both DH and I have colds. Therefore have not been getting much done in the evenings. It's a busy time at work for me too so I can't take any days off right now. I have to bake some cookies tomorrow for a cookie exchange on Sunday. I think I'll do the ones with the Hershey kisses in them My Christmas shopping is done, I just need to wrap! Maybe I'll do it tonight.

Hi, all! I’m a couple days behind. We are in nor Cal at the ILs’. We have already had a great time. DD2 is napping, and MiL and DD1 and I went to the kid’s bookstore to pick out a Christmas book, and then to Starbucks for a latte and a cake pop. Now I’m lying on the couch while H and MIL play Candy Land with DD1. This is the best!
FIL is at work, which is actually great, because he is feeling well enough to work. He put on 20 lb since ending chemo, which is excellent news! He is feeling pretty good. 😊

Dh and I just watched incredibles 2. It was so good. We keep talking about night weaning ds2 and I feel like we need to get through the holidays first. I am definitely going to need to sleep downstairs or with the door closed. I don't mind terribly but I want sleep again. 😴 14 months is long enough to disrupt my sleep (not even mentioning the months of heartburn while pregnant).

pootsen I made my first batch of homemade Chex mix a few days ago and the boys and I decided it needs to be a regular thing. I ended up with roasted peanuts instead of mixed nuts and no bagel chips. That batch is nearly gone. cnf lad you are on the mend. grumpycat good luck with DS1. A is still in our bed. I cannot get him in his crib at all. It is like I'm laying him down on an instant charge mat with super springs under the sheet. White noise, no noise, no blanket, thin blanket, thicker blanket, tired baby, sleeping baby, super duper sleeping baby, all the things, this child will not sleep in his bed for me. MIL was over the other day, 1h45m nap in his crib. To be fair, he is very congested with drainage and keeps waking up coughing, which is freaking me out anyway = I'm up catching up. We are planning on Santa tomorrow, so I am going to go to BP and get a time when they open. I'm looking forward it so much, hopefully it isn't too nuts. I finally have all the outgrown clothing (in lots) and equipment photographed, now to figure out pricing and list it all. Today I went to DS1's class and helped with their Christmas party. There were 3 moms, 1 brought rice crispy treats and all the forms of sugar to decorate them, 1 brought stuff to make reindeer ornaments, & I brought a canvas. I had painted a tree, then the kids each put their finger print on it and we gave it to their teacher. They were SO excited and she loved it.

I’m officially on Christmas break and couldn’t been more excited! I’ve had a cold for going on 3 weeks now, so I think I need the rest. I thought I was better last weekend, but it came back with a vengeance this week. Wrangling 55 11 year olds on a daily basis probably didn’t help. Anyway, my H is home until the new year too, so it’ll be a nice break.
Today I need to try to finish Christmas shopping and I might try to get a nicer dressed up Santa pic of E at the mall.

I had that same cold. Three weeks and still sick, went in for sinus surgery anyways and now another week later I'm finally starting to feel human again. It's a dragout cold going around. Hopefully you feel better soon.

clucky I love rye chips but I couldn’t find any. So I added garlic Parmesan pita chips (crushed up a bit) and sesame sticks. So delicious! I think next time I’ll add more butter and seasoning though, I prefer a bolder flavor.

Now that you say it, I didn’t follow the seasoning ingredients exactly. I didn’t measure and just used a whole stick of butter, then realized my error and bumped everything up a bit to compensate. I too prefer a stronger flavor, and remember when my parents made it having a ho hum kind of feeling about the seasoning and Brazil nuts. 😂 We are just about ready for another batch.

Do you have a lot of sinus pain/congestion or a bad cough? Could be a sinus infection or bronchitis if it’s been going on that long.

bethkate it isn't Newark as crazy as some because they hand out so many time passes for every half hour. Though sometimes we get there at 10 (when they open) and so many passes are gone they are already working on 11:30 and past. Then when we come back for our time, they are gone for the day or have 6 left. I'm not sure who there came in with it, but it is perfect with littles. Plus Santa gets scheduled breaks. I forget how nice it is until we go see the Easter Bunny at the BP by my parent's house and have to wait in the ever growing, snaking line.

Good morning everyone! It’s my side of the family’s Christmas celebration today. We are heading over to my parent’s house around noon. DH smoked a brisket over night so I let him sleep in the guest bed while I dealt with both boys. It wasn’t a terrible night, but they both were up once and then up for the day by 6. I’m going to head out for a run soon to help make up for all the delicious food I’ll be stuffing in my face later.

Morning!! I'm off of work until Wednesday and I'm very excited for it. I started working on a carseat poncho for my niece for Christmas and it got messed up so I spent a lot of time ripping stitches last night and I'll try again tonight. H works nights all weekend and usually sleeps in the basement but since our friend is working on the floor down there he's sleeping upstairs- it's so hard to keep the kids quiet!

Today is our packing day. I got all of mine and the kids’ clothes washed yesterday so once dh is done with his, I’ll do a load of diapers and start packing the suitcase. DD has a makeup swim class. She did great last night, so I guess we will see how Jan goes and whether we re-enroll her in the next session of swim.
Our dog is depressed because he saw the suitcase last night, and my friend that is living with us left for break with her suitcase early this morning for her flight. The dog didn’t even wag his tail when dh came down

Santa visit and photo done. The boys did so good and A screamed, it was perfect. H and I jumped in and we took a family photo too, no tears and everyone was looking at the camera. Now to tackle the very long to do list.

Omg has anyone else’s baby turned into a screeching banshee??? Make it stop! 🙋 mine too. He screeches in the motn if dh is taking too long to get to him, if I take something away from him, if ds1 won't let take his toy, etc. It's his go to if he isn't getting his way.

Nice clucky! Glad to hear you're having a nice time and your fil is doing well thatgolfb! bethkate, I've been sick on and off for quite awhile too. It's not getting worse, but a different thing every few days 😅 High five for going for a run pootsen! Today is errands day once DD wakes up from her nap: go downtown for a gift card for my sil who is DH's secret Santa person. Go across town to his aunt's Portuguese deli for some chorizo etc for Xmas Eve dinner. Stop by the shopping centre near our place for booze, groceries and new boots for me. Somewhere along the way get 2x $10 gift exchange presents for a party tonight 😬😁😖

Ds1 never went through a screeching phase. Well until now, because he and ds2 scream back and forth at each other. We shut that down real fucking quick and threatened to toss xmas gifts, so ds1 stopped but C SCREAMS every time he wants something or doesn’t get his way. Which is often because he’s very demanding and opinionated.
