I guess my UO is while I like most sweets, I do not like baklava. Not the slightest bit tempting to me. trtlcrzy , lolz. The kids do that kind of shit to me all the time. Glad you did not have a myocardial infarction. cagoldi yay for X! Way to go kid. That sweet boy's smile warms my heart. klong11 at least seeing where you are is a good start. One of my favorite things about my new house is my closet is so big I have the gifts hidden in there but I also have plenty of space to wrap in there too (it's not quite as swag as Candy Spelling's 3 wrapping rooms in her mansion) so it makes it a little easier to shut myself in and not have to wait until the kids have gone to bed and drag everything out. dapostrophe I'm glad you were able to talk to your MiL. You're exactly right--her feelings are her feelings. I'm kind of laughing at the awkwardness of your book/wine club because I can see myself in that type of situation. But I'm really sorry you don't click with them.

Do you think the car is fixable cagoldi ? Or is it time for car shopping? I'm not sure. FIL thinks he repaired it. The car is ancient (2002 Saturn) but only has about 75,000 miles because it's just used for me to shuttle the kids around and DC is half a mile away, our elementary is literally right behind our house so we walk there. I'm super impressed a 2002 only has 75k miles on it. My car is mostly used for my work commute. It's a 2012 and has 95k miles.

The girls are into board games all the sudden. We played their first big kid board game the other night (Life) and they loved it. Last night they wanted to play Cranium so we modified it so they could play since it was the adult version. I was disappointed when they couldn't guess my gas station drawing because I did really good dammit. Then we watched some of A Very Brady Christmas. It's so cheesy. The girls, Cass especially, love The Brady Bunch. There was a scene with a woman in the background in labor (because Greg is an OB--bwahahaha) and that led to an awkward conversation about birth because they were fascinated.

I don't think I've ever had it. Where does one purchase a baklava? Turkish or Greek restaurants/deli’s, get the ones that have pistachios in them!

I’m at an office party in a dance club that is frequently went to with Dh when I was 20-25. All the memories!!! Tonight however the worst Dh in human history is playing.... one more hour and then I’m leaving for dinner and wine with a friend!

I don't think I've ever had it. Where does one purchase a baklava? Me either. I’ve seen it at Taziki’s, but I didn’t want my first baklava taste to be from a chain restaurant. I want one from a more authentic Greek place I think.

I grew up with a greek family down the street from me. They have 3 restaurants now. Come visit me and I'll take you down there. Or we can just go to their house. They love to make food!

Hi!
Work, work, work today. I did get the cards addressed this morning, so that’s done. Nothing much else going on. Hopefully get more names checked off on the Christmas list by end of day. I forgot my list at home, though so going off the top of my head.
Hope everyone has a good day!

So clearly we're doing a nice dinner at a good Greek place while in Denver.
We went to an amazing Persian restaurant last time we were there. I wonder if I could find that place again.

Good morning! jewels are you rich today? Brinks truck dumped cash all over Route 3 during DH’s commute. People all over the highway picking it up. I’m cleaning up a bit while C is in his crib not napping. Next I will be making a list of everything left to buy for Christmas and hoping to knock most of it out today. I almost ran right out shopping from drop off but then I remembered I had my pj shirt on under my coat. I was going to start wrapping but I like to see everything I have for the kids before I do that and a lot of packages are on the way. Hopefully Monday I can do all that. DH has his other holiday party today and I will probably take the kids to the school fundraiser at a local restaurant later. Tomorrow I’m going to the holiday party for the school I pretend to work at. Lol, I wish!!

Has anyone else had the chocolate covered candy cane Joe Joe's at TJ's? OMG amazing. Purely amazing. If I'm thinking of the right thing, my aunt used to send us some of those every year from Atlanta before TJ's opened in my hometown. Whatever they were, they were good! That makes me kind of nostalgic for them, maybe I'll go get some this weekend.

C threw down in Dillards today, so that was delightful (<--sarcasm). In her defense I know she was so tired and past-due for a nap. I don't think B has ever tantrum'ed in public, I didn't realize what I was NOT missing! At least I found a hostess gift before she let loose.
She got a catnap in the car, has had lunch and is now in a sunny mood. It's not quite as freezing here today as it has been, so I'm hoping DH can take the kids to the park this afternoon so I can finish up some wrapping, and possibly head out to look for an ornament for the ornament exchange we're doing on Saturday.

S was not a tantrum kid. He had a few but nothing too crazy and only one in public that I can recall. B on the other hand... everything sets him off. I feel like I’m living with a tiny terrorist. I never know when he might strike! Yesterday’s tantrum was brought on by the fact that I made him put his raisins in a little bowl. Full kicking and screaming ensued.

X is the most joyful, sweet-natured child and was the easiest baby, but he's tantruming like mad lately. I didn't think anyone could top Dude, but X is proving to be some serious competition. He's not as emotionally intense, but he is stubborn!

Hi hi! Just got home— gymnastics and then I took the kids shopping for presents from MH. They chose a mug (it says world greatest teacher), a tie, a candle, chocolate covered espresso beans, and some beard and mustache products (based on smell). They’ve got him pegged. Then lunch at cfa and I did a test run to see where the orange theory gym is in relation to my house and it’s actually 35 minutes away so I think I’m canceling my session. I can’t tag another hour plus just for driving to and from the workout. Back to the drawing board!

Yum to baklava. I love the honey and the nuts. The puffed pastry is ok, but it all works together so well.

He's not as emotionally intense, but he is stubborn! Our first and seconds have very similar personalities. Maddie was always very intense and emotional. Her tantrums were fucking epic. Just insane. She could be fine then be a ball of crazy emotion. Cass has a heart of gold and is just so sweet, but in her toddlerhood she surprised with a few tantrums (and still does occasionally). They were very different than Maddie's but mostly driven by being stubborn. She refuses to talk or tell me what's wrong. Grunts "uh-uh" and refuses to move. It's fun.

We'll just sit on the porch and complain about the neighbors' music being too loud while enjoying a bowl of hard candy.
