xolastunicornxo How are you feeling this morning? I had 3 beers last night and feel it today...can't imagine being out til 1am. God, I sound old! I’m Moving slow, but I think I’m ok. Dh went in to work late and got the kids to school so I got to sleep in with C for a bit. I’m trying to get my ass to the gym, but I also may need a BEC ( guster) I stuck to beer which I think helped... but i definitely had more than three!!

I'm keeping X home today so he can rest. So clearly, I'm getting even further behind on everything. Next year I think we should just plan a cruise for Christmas. Yessss!

I stayed after drop-off this morning to chat with some others moms in the parking lot, we are all trying to figure out what to do for school next year. The preschool offers Kindergarten, but we are zoned for a fantastic public school. This is our first Big Parenting Decision--yes, the caps are necessary--so we were all kind of laughing about that. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer; depending on the day I find myself leaning towards one place or another. That is difficult. I hope you come to a decision easily. I really tore myself up last spring (and into the summer) and thankfully I’m happy with my decision. When do you need to decide by? Is there a difference regarding half or full day? TL; DR: Registration at our current school is in late January, so worst case I'll put a deposit down to hold his place and if we do the public school next year, I'm out a couple hundred bucks--nbd. The two biggest reasons I'm on the fence: 1) moving B out of yet another school...I think it bothers me more than him, though, truthfully. 2) Our current school is 9:30-1, so I would have both kids on the same schedule (another strong pro, IMO). C will go two mornings/week. Public kindergarten in our area is half-day. Supposedly our neighborhood will be the morning session next year (which I prefer). Obviously a big pro of the public school is FREE. And B likes the idea of going to "the big kid school"; they have a Kindergarten-only bus that picks up/drops off outside your house, which is nice and makes me more inclined to consider the bus than I would otherwise. We live about a 1/2 mile from school. The bus would also extend my kid-free time a bit on days both B&C are in school. I'll go to the public school orientation later this winter and hope that makes things more clear.

Morning! Eating CFA breakfast and then heading to get a couple things at the grocery store. Get in at the beginning when kids are forming friendships and learning the ropes of the new school. And free🙌 If we were going to be here long-term I'd definitely make the switch so he could start K with everyone. But he will only do K here before we move back to FL.

My ILs used to do this, back when mh and I were dating. I never went since we weren’t married yet and I wanted to be w my family. And now they don’t do it anymore :/ pooh.

Ugghh, you guys are reminding me that I haven’t even gotten a start on Xmas wrapping . It was something I used to enjoy, you know back when I had 3-4 ppl to buy for. Now it’s an entire production! I’ll prolly enlist mh to help me this year, w a bottle or 2 of Prosecco.

Hmm in that case maybe keep both kids at same location? I will say half of J's class left to go to public for k (due to age) and he misses them SO much. It's been a bit sad bc he is at the same spot and doesn't have a new experience too.

Morning! Another day at the office. H has a haircut after work and n has dance. Fingers crossed we have no issues today at dance. We talked about it this morning and she seemed totally fine with it, but it’s always an out of the blue freak out... we’ll see.
So I think h has decided to night train himself. When he first stated potty train back in July, we were surprised that we was always dry in the morning for like a month. Then he started soaking his pull-ups every night for the last couple months. On Sunday, he asked to wear underwear to bed, but I told him he has to stay dry in his pull-up. He woke up dry Monday so we let him wear undies to bed. Now he’s been dry 3 nights in a row! Little stinker knows how to play us.

I guess I had assumed all the kids would stay at the current school for K, but after talking to the moms this morning I realized a lot (most?) will go to the public school (since many have older siblings there, or parents want out from under the tuition--which goes way up for K, etc.) I don't think there's a *wrong* decision, I'm just trying to figure out if one is more right, lol. DH loves the idea of free, obviously, but I think he will be supportive either way.

morning! That's a tough call flamingo. As tallb said, if you were staying there I would definitely go to the public school, but if you are moving anyway, I'm not so sure! slenle I love when the kids do these things themselves! Go H!!! Is he even 3 yet?!?

I've actually been busy at work, so I've been having trouble keeping up. But I think I finally caught up here! I can't believe all the puke-y kids!! I hope it's made its way through and no one else gets it! Last night we had S holiday concert and it was the cutest thing ever. The kids were so adorable, and everyone except 1 kid participated happily. Trying to get everything done quickly this week. We have our holiday lunch Friday and then I'm rushing out to pick up the kids and we're heading down to the in-laws. tallb I'll wave from the road!

Whew, all the photo things I needed to do are done and ready to be picked up, except the mugs, which have to be shipped. I also ordered a CD for H. Yes, an actual CD. It's a Christmas CD, so I know he will want to listen to it at home. I'm feeling quite accomplished, except now I'm behind on work. xolastunicornxo That's awesome your H let you sleep in. I hope the kids are angels for you today so you can even nap!

Rushed to the Dr cause I thought I was going to be late. Stupid me, this doctor is always late, I had plenty of time.
Coworker keeps texting me work drama. It's making me get pissed off and I'm over all the drama. I flat out said I don't fucking care to her because I am so over it.

Morning.
I took the day off to run some errands, finish up Christmas shopping at the mall and then I’m taking B to ikea to look at desks and actually sit and try them. This is certainly a case of analysis paralysis, I just want it to be over.

Hi, thanks for all the birthday love for C yesterday. We went to a drive through holiday lights thing last night and he loved it. Then he decided to be my favorite by getting up only once last night! He will now get meatballs, cake, and a light show every night before bed. Today he had his 1 year check up and the doctor did go ahead and give him the MMR shot I was asking you girls about a few weeks ago. She said they have patients at the office who go to the same daycare as the infected family. I didn’t realize it was young kids who were sick so I’m sure that is going to keep spreading.

Because it’s free and 2. So she can get to know kids that she will potentially be going to school with for a lot of years.

Hi!
I’m at work feeling a lot better. Last night was awful. I felt so bad and nothing was staying down. I woke up in the middle of the night hangry so I ate a bit of apple and some juice and all was well.
One of our machines are down so I was hoping to stay home, but I came in and hoping to be leaving soon so I can attempt finish Christmas shopping. That would make my day.

When my grandma passed away in the summer, I took her recipe boxes even though I can’t cook. My sister asked me if I could find grandma’s Christmas cookie recipe. My other sister just used it to order a cute hand towel with the recipe written in grandma’s handwriting for my dad. My dad will love it.

dapostrophe, you’re a better woman than me just for booking them a room 😉 but really, I think you should make your dinner reservations! Do what makes you happy, you deserve it and I think a nice dinner on Christmas sounds lovely.

I've driven him by and he loves the idea of it...I think it's all the sports fields, lol. Odds of being in a class with friends? IDK. I think there are 3 K classes per session (so 6 total since it's half-day). They divide the morning/afternoon sessions by neighborhood on a rotating basis. His current best bud lives in our 'hood so ostensibly he'd be on the same schedule as us, if they opt for public. He makes friends pretty easily so I'm not *too* worried about that aspect.

flamingo, I know it's hard being a military family and moving frequently. I would go to an open house and get more of a sense of the school. If finances aren't a big concern and if a move seems likely in a year or two I think I would keep him where he's at for consistency. No matter what his peer group is going to change because of kids going different places, but familiarity of the same place can help. I'm psyched to have the girls in the same school next year. It'll be the first time and it'll make things so much easier. However, in your case the bus dynamic would make that a tiny bit less of a problem.

dapostrophe That sounds wonderful! Go and enjoy and plan the meal you want. We did Christmas one time as an extended family at a similar-sounding place in NH. It was great...a very old-fashioned, Rockwellian-Christmas. My MIL would probably say/do the same thing...it's like she thinks she's making things easier or something? No! Let's just enjoy time together and let me do it my way, please and thank you. And not make my own sandwich
