I definitely want to get our closet organized. It seems crazy because MH wants to move this year but I think getting it done would help because of purging and even moving to a new place.

I need to get the kid stuff under control.
I’m going to work on a big purge next week and then work on real life organization for their room in January.
I also need to get my pantry/laundry room under control, because we’re getting a new water heater and it’s a different shape. I’m losing a whole shelf.

I am very pro organizing pre-move so I agree with you there. Not house related but I am going to organize all the photos on my computer finally, as well as scan a box of old family photos. I’ve been meaning to do both for years, but January/February it’s getting done dammit. I also need to re-organize my file folders and get rid of some stuff no longer needed.

I’d like to get a few projects taken care of with the ultimate goal of creating a sustainable system for each.
Organize our downstairs and upstairs hall closets. We did a house reno that included building the closets and we have stuff to get rid of.
After I’m done Christmas wrapping, I’m going to go through our wrapping supplies and come up with a better solution. We have one of those tall plastic bins but inevitably I have paper of mixed sizes so the top doesn’t fit. I know there are ideas on Pinterest.
I also want to redo the small closet in our master bedroom that is mostly mine. It is currently 2 rods and an “access panel” that is really a piece of cardboard over a rectangular hole in the drywall...I would like a fresh coat of paint, shelves/organization system, and a light. I want it to be cute and feminine so I enjoy opening the door and keeping it orderly.
And lastly I need to figure something out for kids school art/work pieces. I had started with one file box for my oldest and now I have 3 in school and it’s totally overflowing. It is a space hog in one of the closets I first mentioned.

thankfully we use a garment bag for our wrapping paper. Only the really tall rolls don’t fit. It’s the best solution for our space.

My environment is one of my level 10 life areas of focus this year, so I for sure have goals in this area.
1. Organize. I am a butterfly so I am looking into finding the way to tackle organizing my house in a way that works for me and thus is more likely to be sustainable. I like that minute rule and have been trying to remember that. I may print out some signs for a few weeks to help get myself in a groove.
2. Beautify/Curate: I want to purge and intentionally decorate areas of my home so I can have some space that brings me peace in chaos. I want to finish my garden so that I can have a cut flower garden as I find live things and nature to be incredibly grounding and relaxing.
3. Cleaning routine: I want to have a house that anyone can drop by and I won feel embarrassed. I want to increase my socializing/entertaining this year so this is a crucial part of that. ¨Come on in! Have some tea/vodka!¨ is what I would like to say more often

We are planning on moving within the next year so after the holidays I’m planning on starting to purge and streamline all the junk we’ve accumulated over the years. The basement and the garage the worst.
Toys are another pain point. I just recently went through the kids toys but there is still more progress to be made there. I need to come up with some kind of rotation system.
I have a running list of small projects/improvements/upgrades I’d like to complete to hopefully make our current house more marketable once it comes time to sell. The whole process feels so overwhelming so I’m trying to just do a little at a time.

I have way too many. But I tried to be very specific this year.
Cleaning out my closet and finally getting only clothing that fits (January project).
Clear out baby items I'm done with (by April, we have a donation drive).
Track my spending and save a chunk for a new home/remodel in 2 years.
Fitness: workout 20 times a month, run 4 races, and take my measurement before the end of the year to compare. I'd like to build endurance and tighten my core.
Read 12 books
Get better at simplifying my meal plan (limit to purchased meals a month at work).
Take a recharge day once a quarter for myself.

Bins and baskets would not normally be my way but it works with the kids and MH.
I have these grand visions of how I want the space to be but it's ok it it's not there now but is functional. The pretty can come later.

My neighbor came over for some foil the other day and was so embarrassed. Not dirty, but baby and kid stuff was everywhere, dishes in the rack ready to be put away. Etc

I think my first step is to reorganize and purge the closets/pantry. For outside we dug out a firepit the previous owners put in.

We are definitely in declutter mode here. I’m getting rid of all outgrown baby things and hoping to redo the closets. I’ve also got a mail organizer and some baskets to organize my junk cupboard which I plan to tackle soon.

thankfully i got the ikea spice rack shelves and mounted two (vertically) on a wall. The top one i left out the bottom. It works for any size of paper and its off the floor. I squuezed mine into a tiny spot next to the washer. Let me know if this doesnt make sense and i can post a picture.

I definitely want to get my house to be better organized and to create more functional spaces. It’s definitely small, but I think with some more intentional planning it could really work for us!

benandjerrys Yes that makes sense, and I think I actually have a couple of them somewhere. I’m thinking I’d to that on the side wall of the closet and a hook for bags. That would leave tissue paper, bows, and tags, which I suppose could just go in a box.
