DH has jury duty and I totally went into mom mode to make sure He had water, a sandwich, snacks! He wasn’t going to take anything and I was worried he would be starving all day and we weren’t sure how far the courthouse is from places to eat, and he isn’t supposed to have electronic devices in there. Made him bring a book too! Lol It’s our first foray into jury duty.
L will start a play group Wednesday mornings at the end of January. It’s thru the organization that does his speech help. This will be on top of his 45 minutes of one-on-one time at our home. It’ll be 2 hours of freedom!?! I won’t know what to do with myself lol.

Well H took off his diaper and shit on the floor this morning. So that was fun. And I have more shoveling to do (not much, maybe 20 minutes) but I'm putting it off for a little while because I just don't feel like it yet lol. Also DH is supposed to come home today so I'm crossing everything, because we're getting another storm tomorrow, so if hr doesn't come home today it'll likely be the weekend before he does.

LOL Cheshie6! Is it like a big trial? I've never gotten called for Jury Duty so I don't know what the day is like. Actually I got a letter saying I was being summounded but they said to call the night before to see if I'm needed. I wasn't. FX he gets home today danib! Will he be home for Christmas?

Fingers crossed 🤞🏽 danib! goldenlove, DH called yesterday and they told him he was to report today. (Last week they said they didn’t need him) He leaves Monday so he’s bringing his flight information in the hopes he can get out of it! We’re not sure how this works 😬 and with his company being in the UK we’re not sure how they are going to deal with it if he’s called. He’s supposed to get a promotion and be gone 6-weeks.

Cheshie6 I can't imagine that they'll make him stay for it given his schedule.

Cheshie6 that’s exciting about the playgroup! B had one through his speech therapy organization as well. It really helped him get used to being around other kids and I feel it helped with his transition to preschool as well, as he was used to leaving me. How long will he get to go?

goldenlove we still don't know. As of now he's home for Christmas, but he could get called back and right now we aren't in a place for him to decline.

I hate people at work who aren't super helpful but they have to pretend to be helpful to make themselves look good so they give me stupid tasks to do. Too specific? Someone has been on me about getting part tracking information (that is really useless) and I've told them 100 times we didn't start shipping the new parts yet but now he's saying we need updated info by Friday to present the data. Present to what? We're both on vacation Friday.

Our Speech person will give us more information tomorrow, but my understanding is until he graduates (3 years old) and then becomes a school district kid. If he’s still behind at that time (3 yrs old) he will get free early preschool.

I drove past CFA this morning chanting "don't do it!" at myself and now I have regrets because a chicken biscuit sounds amazing.

Hi. We’ve had breakfast, B has had speech, we’ve colored, took a bath, and there’s still a million hours left in the day. Oy.

Cheshie6 I’m always so surprised at how jury duty differs from state to stare, but when I got called I was still in school. Went the first day I was called and let the lady who was giving us all directions and in charge of us I guess about my schedule and she dismissed me from the rest of my time. Hopefully it’s the the same for your H. As for the trial itself I just said I couldn’t be impartial so they didn’t pick me for the jury (duh). It was so weird. It was a drunk driving case. Tested positive for alcohol and still tried pleading not guilty. I can see the results of your breathalyzer, girl what are you wasting everyone’s time for?

I’m missing the gene where I’m supposed to enjoy the American experience of jury duty. I’ve been called three times and each time is the worst.

I feel like maybe the big cases I would be able to immerse myself into the information, but these petty small cases are always ridiculous.

I’m trying to grow my hair out. Not for length, but so that it’s back to my natural color. I’ve reached the root stage where I look...not good. It’ll look fine in a few months, but for now I’m just going to look slightly homeless.

I’ve been called to jury duty a few times but used some excuse to get out of it. The most recent time J was only 3 months old and I used the ol’ I breastfeed my baby and am a SAHM and have no one to watch my kids excuse. It worked.
I don’t think I could remain impartial on a big trial. Especially if it were about babies, kids, murder etc.

But it would have to be something pretty big and not "obvious".

Jury duty also depends on if it's a civil vs criminal case and if it's in federal/county/district court. They all handle things differently.

I have a meeting in our Houston office at 10:30. It will be a total waste of my time.
Today is MH's birthday. He took the day off to take M to the dentist for her crown. Please everyone pray that she cooperates better for the dentist this time.

I was planning on leaving here early to pick up H and take him to get his blood work done. But now I'm thinking about making MH do it with both kids because I always have to do it. But since it's his birthday maybe I shouldn't.
Decisions, decisions.

Yeah I would like to think that I'd be impartial but who knows. It would have to be something that wasn't in the news that I couldn't research and read people's comments about.
I've listened to a lot of wrongful conviction podcasts and would probably question EVERYTHING even if it seems obvious. Too bad you can't ask questions as the jury lol.

Guarantee he’ll enjoy his dinner in peace and quiet more once he goes through all of that.

Ok I need advice on house stuff. Here is my vanity.. Attachment DeletedI want to put a tilting oval mirror here. It has to be around 24" wide and can be 36" tall. I found 2 mirrors at Home Depot. One is a couple inches wider than I want but will fill in the height. The other is the right width but only 26" tall. My concern with the big one is the outlet that's on the bottom left that I need to clear. It *should* be ok but then I'm wondering if getting the smaller one and just mounting it higher is better. Then I can also get a countertop makeup mirror for when I'm sitting. These are the stupid decisions I'm dealing with lol.

goldenlove because of the outlet Id go with the shorter one and a small makeup mirror.

Well, you know, since he’s a single parent and all these things just fall on his shoulders sometimes.🙄 I’m sure his boss would have a lot to say about him “helping out with babysitting”. 🙄
