cali Toddler H just went through a stage like this, with us finally doing crying for five minutes and then checking in. It seems to be subsiding after a week and a half, but man, it is hard when they suddenly don't sleep!

addymac, I was catching up on posts and read yours about the grocery bill. Lol!! I so sympathize. We are now up to three gallons of milk a week with toddler H coming off the formula (and ds1 loving milk) And fresh produce is so pricey!

Milk is so expensive jfc.

cali T went through a phase with not falling asleep. I used to just put a toy in the crib with her at bedtime. Then if she threw it out or started crying, I’d switch it out. R has started taking a book to bed to look at before she falls asleep.

bsouls, how do you do the book? Do you leave the light on, then? I thought about trying a book with toddler H after leaving him in the crib bc he will sit and stare at them during the day, but I didn't want to leave the light on.

She points and wants a book, so I hand her one while I’m still holding her. I lay her in the crib and she looks at the book. She has the Fisher Price seahorse, so it gives off a little light while it’s on. But, I shut the light off and when I look on the monitor she’s laying on her back looking at the book. T used to use the seahorse to illuminate the book. Then my SIL gave her a pony light at probably 2.5 that she used and still has. It’s this light: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00LXHOECY/I would recommend a light like this- only thing is it switches between modes if they hold the button and different modes make the light do different things. So, until I figured that out sometimes it would flash on and off, which would frustrate her.

cali I have totally laid on the floor to get the baby to lay down. Funny how it works for lots of kids. Now that I’m pretty diligent about brushing teeth DD goes to bed with sippy cups of water. Do you think your DD would like that ? Mine was a huge pacifier kid so I think that’s why sippy cups help her go to bed. Hmmm...Maybe, but how do you keep it from leaking all over? Another horrible night tonight so I'm ready to try anything

Ds1 woke up middle of the night and threw up, so now I'm sitting up with him on the couch. I'm wondering if this can possibly be the same bug toddler H had this past Saturday? Goodness! I cleaned everything like crazy. These winter bugs need to stop.

We’ve primarily used Playtex and Nuk sippy cups over the years without having issues. The people I know that have had issues with leaky sippy cups have run them through the dishwasher.

So all 3 of us slept until 7 today which was awesome. Unfortunately i think its because j is sick. Hes had horrible liquid diarrhea 3 times so far. First time was total blow out all up his back and we had to give him a bath. This is probably the only time ive thiught i was going to puke while changing him. Its nustard colores and smells so sickly. Hes still eating just seems drowsy. Any thing i should know? Just keep him hydrated? Give him pedialite or something?

Yes, just keeping him hydrated is most important. Don’t worry about eating and just be sure he is wetting diapers consistently. Any temp?

I’d just push fluids and pedialyte and regular food if he wants to eat it. Diarrhea is just the worst.

Add us to the sick list. MH and I contacted some stomach bug and it has been awful. A threw up a few times last night but hasn’t again. But I can tell he’s not feeling well. Parenting while sick is just shitty.
Especially since MH left today to go on a ski trip. I’m salty about it, but he already had locked it in.

That's awful @easilyunamused. I hope you feel better soon. Ds1 had the stomach flu all Friday, and I'm on pins and needles hoping the rest of us don't get sick.

Every day at 5am DD wakes up and I change her diaper get her milk and bring her into our bed. On days I don’t have to work we all sleep to 8. It’s great I love the snuggles. It all started when I was taking unisom for nausea. I kept waking up with DD in the bed and asking my husband if he brought her in. So that was kinda wild. I worry about the newborn in the room but these two are going to share a room. So they will get used to each other. I like sleeping until 8. J is the same and I really want him in his bed full time before the baby comes but I doubt that will happen. When are you due?

And thanks king26 and jt2378. This is the first time we’ve all been sick at the same time and it royally sucks. Hopefully it’s much better tomorrow.

When I updated the new version of tapatalk on my phone, I need to sign in again to the private board. Can someone who remembers it send me the password in a PM? I have no clue what it is lol.

How do I get A to try to repeat sounds and words back to me? Whenever I try, he always either shakes his head or ignores it. He babbles constantly, but doesn’t seem interested in saying words.

She is starting to get better and I just keep at it but feel like I’m in the same boat. She would much rather climb allllllll the things or try any death defying act 🤷🏻♀️😂 She has started saying a couple things so hopefully it’s helping. Hope your feeling better today!

A isn’t too much of a climbing daredevil, but I don’t know if we have much for him to climb up anyways. What words is M saying? And thanks! I feel much better today, just weak a tired. Ate some toast and half a banana. Lol hopefully it’ll be fuel and not rejected.

@easilyunamused, She says ball, milk, hi, bye, and tries to say D1’s name which isn’t that easily pronounced but at least she is trying. Mama and Dada sporadically, lol figures! Glad your feeling better.
