This weekend was a whirlwind. We had E's party on Sunday, so that means Saturday was filled with major prep work. Sunday was the party. I was pretty happy how everything came out and I got a lot of compliments on my food. I posted pictures on the private thread. It definitely made the weekend fly by. After that last two weekends, I am looking forward to a quiet next weekend. I was exhausted last night and E took pity on us and had a decent night's sleep.

Daycare and schools are closed today. The road behind our house looks passable but our road hasn't been plowed and likely won't be until tomorrow. I have work I need to get done for tonight so we shall see how that goes. Dh is going to take ds1 out to shovel/play in the snow so I can work for a bit when ds2 goes down for a nap.
My neighbor measured 11.5 inches of snow in his backyard. I think that's the most snow we've gotten since moving into our house 4 years ago.

Yay for some sleep sarahandben108! Stay safe in the snow grumpycat! Morning, you know that cartoon about the mental load of the mother, I feel like that is my life lately. Need to get my Christmas decorations finished and I think I'll feel a bit more festive. Santa pic success at my parents yesterday, posted on the private board.

We have family pictures tonight so I came into work early so I can leave early.
Ds2 might have thrush, his tongue is white with red patches but nothing in the rest of his mouth. DS1 has some suspicious red dots on his feet and hands but neither have a fever and are eating and acting normal. So I'll just watch it and take him in if it gets worse or starts bugging him.
We finished decorating the tree last night, only lost one ornament to a drop! I love this time of year, currently rocking out to Christmas music at work ☺️

Yes, I totally understand about the mental load. I tried to explain that once to my H about all the stuff to keep track of. Then I told him, now add 14 students and all the information I have to keep straight for them too. I'm surprised I leave my house some days with matching socks. lol.

I had to make a check list at work to make sure I didn’t forget to do parts of my job. I got my new planner and now I’m making all the lists.

I really want a new purse for Christmas but can’t find one I love. I want something big enough for my planner and to stick a few diapers/wipes in but not huge. Also brown “leather” cross body.
I’m stuck at work waiting on reports but since I sit in a freaking fishbowl I can’t look.
Also did not bring pump parts to work today. I did 2 days without pumping last week and it went ok.

👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Happy Monday! It actually is a happy Monday for me, because I have the day off today. H volunteered to take the kids to day care anyway (usually on my weekdays off I do drop off), so I got to stay in my PJs. I have another 30 minutes before I leave for my workout class, so I’m drinking coffee and watching the Christmas Contract. It is exactly what I needed today.
On my plan today is laundry (fortunately just towels since we finished clothing yesterday), workout, Trader Joe’s, Target, and hopefully getting a mani pedi. I needed this day; the last few weeks have been just insane.

thatgolfb - I loved The Christmas Contract jules1614 - oh no! Hope your LO feels better soon and it's not something serious N slept like shit again last night, so I am pretty sure it's teething (though he is in a leap as well). I was up constantly from about 12:45am until 3:30ish (I honestly can't remember). I did give him some Tylenol around 2/230, so assuming it took a while to kick in he did OK after that. But UGH, it's going to be a long week with H's work schedule if N keeps up like this. Poor kid has a drool rash on his chin to boot. I hit it with some Aquaphor before daycare so hopefully they will keep him dry as much as possible. It's been a week since my last pumping session and so far so good. I've avoided cans with BPA since we started trying, so it's been years since I've had Progresso for lunch. So I am enjoying the hell out of my light potato soup today When I dropped N at daycare this morning, I set him down near a walker. I turned around to put his car seat in the closet, and when I turn back, he's up and cruising around with the walker like he's been doing it for years. Kid is going to walk by himself any day now, I swear.

Not as soon as I wanted to be done but ds1 being home shortened ds2's nap. The kid is loud even if he's outside. 🤷

A is BUSY. Today he climbed into a kitchen chair and decided to get on the table. Then spent the rest of the day crawling up onto the coffeetable. Send help because nothing is getting done around here. Oh and so far, we have 3 or 4 ornaments that can no longer be him on the tree...we put it up Saturday. 😂

Ds2 is a serious troublemaker. Ds1 was so much more calm, easy going, and hardly ever got into anything. It’s almost like C knows what he shouldn’t do, and those are his favorite things. Like getting into the lazy Susan and playing with onions.

DSwas so chill and never got into anything and never climbed. DD1 is a climber. And DD2 is just a shit. You tell her no, she looks back, smiles her mischievous little smirk and then proceeds to do whatever it is and then cackles.

I take her hand and say no, no hitting. She shakes her head “no” and then gets this huge grin and sometimes laughs. Like... no.

Both of my kids do this. Ds1 just didn't happen until he was older lol. He giggles too. We straight up say "ds1, that's how you laugh right before you get in trouble!" Ds2 does the shit eating grin and is starting to giggle at the same time too lol. Especially as he's hanging on the toilet flusher or booking it up the stairs.

It's sweet when he claps, but not so sweet when he smacks me. 😬

I just don't want to have to say "do you want to give her a bath or pack her lunch?" and things like that all the time 😭

Plus whatever to second kid trouble maker. DD1 was so good, no baby proofing needed, listen when told no. DD2 thinks it's funny when you tell her no. I was taking something out of the oven yesterday and she was making a move towards it. I told her no and she kept coming so I turned my knee towards her and knocked her down to slow her. Sorry kid, but please don't touch the oven!

Never mind I take back everything nice I said about ds1. He was a hell beast tonight. Literally threw at least 4 full blown tantrums from the time I got home until I put him to bed. He hit ds2, refused even a bite of dinner (chicken with ranch, peas and carrots, so not too offensive), and full-on splashed me during his bath. I had to change clothes. DH had a glass of wine and parks n rec waiting when I came downstairs after putting him to bed. Hallelujah, holy shit, where’s the Tylenol?

Ds2 pooped himself awake. Dh got to change him (haha). Ds1 was a (grandma hangover) monster.
Two funny things: ds1 told his daycare teacher that we will get a dog when our two cats die. And he told me that I'm not getting any presents because I wasn't being nice to him (by told I mean shouted at me through his door after I put him in time out for talking back and hitting me). So fun times.
