What is everyone’s O17 baby doing for sleep and naps?
DD2 got bumped to the next room “up” at daycare. Toddlers 13-18 months or so. They take 1 nap a day from 12-2. DD2 is a hot mess by 5;00 every night and usually asleep by 6:15pm. Like, crying, withering, must-be-held-no put-me-down-repeat mess.
Weekends roll around and she acts like she needs that morning nap still (currently rocking her down right now at 10:00 am!!!).
What do you all do for naps and sleep?!? Is anyone at 1 nap all the time, everyday? Two naps for everyone still?
If you’re at one nap a day what does your sleep schedule look like - maybe I’m putting DD2 down too late then?
Here’s where I’m currently at: Wake up - 6:00 (she’s doing the waking but it’s almost on the dot everyday) Nap 12-2 Bedtime 6:15ish?!?!
DD1 was a unicorn with zero transition issues so I have no real idea what I’m doing here....

We are still at 2 naps a day, but some days it's a struggle because shes not ready for her first nap. Today shes happily snoozing away. We still do 2-3-4 without too many issues. Up at 6:30 Nap 1 - 9 to 10:30 Nap 2 - 1:30 to 3:30 Bedtime - 7:30 Some days she could easily make it until 11ish. I think 12 is a stretch

Two naps. DS is exhausted by 10, there is no chance he could make it to 12
Wakes up around 6:00
Nap 9:30/10-11/11:30
Nap 2:00-3/3:30
Bedtime 7:00 (sometimes as early as 6:30, rarely later)

We're still doing 2 naps most days. We limit the am nap to an hour usually. Occasionally he's refuse the am nap and we do an early lunch and then right to sleep, he usually takes a 2.5-3 hour nap on those days.

My DD has nap time at daycare from 12:30-2:30 but they go for a walk in a stroller in the AM and PM after the nap. So some days she will have 1 long nap or 1 short and 1 longer or 3 short ones. It’s really depends on the day. We usually try to put her into bed by 7 pm.

We are doing one nap only half the time but that’s still going down by 10am. If she takes a long first nap then like 2 hours, she usually so t take a second one. She’d be a mess by 12 also. Any way they can keep her in the younger room a bit longer?

We're at 1 nap, though I wish he'd do two. He's definitely a grump by dinner time, but refuses another nap.
Up at 6ish Nap 11-1:30ish Bed at 6:30/7
We're all on an early schedule in my house, so this works for us.

I’m going to post what we do on weekends since naps at daycare are a crapshoot. And I fully believe my kid needs 2 naps still.
7am - wake up 9:30 - nap 1 3pm - nap 2 6/7pm - bedtime
His nap lengths vary 1-3 hours each. Yesterday his bedtime was around 7:30p because his last nap lasted til 5pm. This is the latest he’s ever gone to bed.

Still 2 naps here too and each are 1 hour long. Like exactly 1 hour! He's like a Swiss clock, appropriately so being half Swiss. Very rarely over or less. 630-7am Wake up 10ish-11ish - nap 3ish-4ish - nap 8-830 - bedtime
Eventhough he can stay up and would rather and only naps for 1 hour, he'd be a wailing mess with only 1 nap a day. He's definitely not ready to drop his am nap.
I also agree - could you tell them that baby girl still needs 2 naps? I think it was around 18 months that DS started to drop his am nap, even that transition was unpleasant from what I recall.

Our schedule is very similar to duskymonkey ‘s 6:30/7am wake up 10ish to 11ish nap 1 3ish to 4ish nap 2 7:30pm bedtime LO definitely needs 2 naps. With DS1, we went down to 1 nap around the 18 month mark.

We go between one and two. If we're out and about in the morning then he'll stay awake and nap after lunch for a few hours. If we're just hanging out at our boring house he'll usually be ready to snooze mid morning still, then again mid afternoon.
It hasn't really affected bedtime or his night sleeping so I'm just rolling with it for now.
And...yea...I don't remember any transitions like this with DS1. Maybe I blocked it out? He just seemed much more consistent in everything he did lol.

Ugh. It seems like most of O17 is still on two naps- which is where I think DD2 needs to be and on the weekends I can still do that.
She can’t go back to the nursery at daycare because she is so much older than the group they have in there now (mostly LOs under 8 months and immobile). There wasn’t a lot for her to do in there either.
She has been ok lately as long as I feed her dinner right away, give her a bath immediately after (we’re talking like, both those things done by 5:30) and then she can usually play pretty good till 6:30/6:45. It’s just really hard to have dinner out by 4:15 each day.

danvers Can you have a meal ready for the baby before you get home that you can quickly reheat? Or a random assortment of snacks available? Then make something for everyone else when she’s done her food and bath? I find that’s what I need to do when I get home because the baby is hangry when we get home since I dropped that nursing session. But I’ll feed her and then the rest of us and she’ll go play since she’s done earlier.

danvers E rarely eats what H and I eat for dinner because E is in bed by 7:30 and H gets home from work at like 7:25 so yeah. I usually throw together a hodgepodge dinner for her. Maybe leftovers, maybe an egg and some veggies (I always have some veggies I steam/roast just for her and refrigerate), usually some fruit and some yogurt (because we hate milk).

We had a crazy day yesterday, and I tried to see if one nap would work for LO. Newp. Big mistake. He went down easily for bed at 7:30pm, but then he was up at 10, and 10:30, and 11, and then I gave up and brought him in bed with me, and he kicked me and tossed and turned all night. Ughhhhhh.
So, back to 2 naps for us.

So, back to 2 naps for us. We tried this today out of necessity... it was the dress rehearsal for the kids Christmas pageant at church at 9:30 and I had to take DS along. I hoped he would fall asleep in the carrier but he did not. He then fell asleep in the car on the way home at 12:30 for 15 minutes, woke up when I took him out, went back down for 30 minutes. And that was it for the day. He was a hot mess and ready for bed at about 5. I held him off until 6:30. It remains to be determined how he will sleep tonight 😬 Clearly he is not ready to do 1 nap yet
