Loki's not dead. I'd bet on that. Gamora might be a different story, but there is a theory that she's in the Soul Stone or something like that. I still say that the people most at risk for actually dying are the ones who survived. I read a theory somewhere that once the soul stone is returned to red skull gamora comes back, which I hope she comes back! Loki on the other hand, he's part of the old crew, so I could see marvel ditching him to make way for a new antihero. I hope they don't but I can't see Loki sticking around without Thor. Unless all of this is to make way for those new Disney+ mini series things. Loki is supposed to be in a new Disney + series, so unless it's a prequel... The thing that really makes me think he's not dead is how unceremonious his death was. It was so quick, barely any time to mourn, which is so unusual for a pretty major character. Although I have a feeling there will be a couple who don't come back and some kind of heart wrenching scene where they realize who's still dead.

He is, as well as vision/Wanda and falcon/winter soldier. I'm just trying to keep my expectations low so if he actually is dead I'm not too disappointed lol. He's one of my favs.

I will be so mad if I lose Tony, Steve, etc. but Peter Quill sticks around. Welll...considering there's a Guardians of the Galaxy 3 coming at some point, we can assume Quill comes back.

Marvel released the Endgame poster for China. I like it better than the US version. The dusted/dead heroes in the shadows really pull the heart strings.

RajahMD, I was just coming to talk about the Chinese poster. I love it. Also hoping for someone to be in China on April 24 to report in.

For a split second last night while I was googling Endgame, a local theater had dates/show times for Endgame. Sadly, just a glitch since the screen disappeared almost immediately and no other theaters around here were showing it. Last rumor I saw said April 2 looked like ticket release date. I really really want an IMAX ticket and only have three IMAX theaters within 20 minutes of me. I know, real first world problem.

I love it! I'm also giggling that the character who is a former Russian assassin is on the front of the poster for Russia.

I love it! I'm also giggling that the character who is a former Russian assassin is on the front of the poster for Russia. Well, what's a little defection between friends? Once a countrywoman, always a countrywoman! On reflection, I'm kind of surprised they didn't try to get the Winter Soldier in there as well - or is the Red Room connection really only fan fiction, and not canon? I get easily confused at times!

No, I'm pretty sure he was used by the Russian head of Hydra. They probably can't use him as a focal point because he got dusted.

RajahMD, good point, being dusted makes a difference on this particular poster! I'm sure Bucky will get center stage if the Russians run a poster with the Fallen on it. :-)

I know in the comics they were in a relationship while he was brainwashed, I can't distinguish between canon and ff if he was involved in the red room though

pianolove, I just feel like I've read a million ff stories that include the Winter Soldier training Red Room candidates, often with developing a relationship with Natasha - with all memories wiped, of course. I can't even imagine being a Marvel writer/director and trying to cope with all the different knowledge levels people bring to the movies - such a balancing act between fan service and telling a story that's clear and affecting to even a newcomer. In my younger days I read mostly DC comics, with very little Marvel (I remember the Fantastic Four the best from way back when). But there are some ff stories that are so good in my mind they should be canon, even if AU. Thanks to all here for helping me develop my knowledge of the MCU.

greykitty omg you just described my life. Who was it that we were just talking about not remembering HP canon? mischief? Anyway I had a minute where I was like "yeah I'm ready for some wintershock on the big screen" except.....that's not even close to canon. Lol. Yeah I was actually surprised that winterwidow was canon! I was also a D.C. Girl, teen titans and the flash were my jam. I am ever (not) so patiently waiting for the titans season to end so I can binge it on DC Universe.

pianolove, Dick Grayson is my forever very favorite character, from Robin to Nightwing - although this Ric Grayson arc cannot end too quickly for me, and I'm just reading about it, not actually reading the comics. Loved the Wolfman/Perez Teen Titans (showing my age here quite a bit). Gosh, I still remember the Legion of Superheroes. At one point I could pretty much do code names/real names/personal histories on the whole Legion fluently without a mistake. Somewhere along the line in the last few years I tripped over the Winter Soldier onscreen and suddenly was finding myself reading up as much as I could on Marvel, with emphasis on Steve and Bucky (and can read their relationship either as brothers or, ah, not as brothers). I still look at the interlocking MCU with awe. Amazing how they've pulled it off so well for so long. That said, I really enjoyed Aquaman and am looking forward to Shazam - that one looks utterly charming. And I still tear up during the No Man's Land scene in Wonder Woman. Truly a nice time to be around for superhero movies.

greykitty this is a huge UO in so many DC circles but Bart Allen was my favorite kid flash. Dick Grayson though is probably always my #1. Though I was introduced to comics when he had already left the titans. Nightwing/oracle was also top notch and the titans kinda sucked without him. Tim was just ok in that role, I was underwhelmed. Im waaaaiting for aquaman to get to amazon prime so I can see it! I bought so many copies of Wonder Woman lol. Once my babies were sleeping through the night I finally realized there was an entire swathe of Marvel movies that I had not known existed and then I asked mischief for fic recs and now I'm all in for the MCU without ever having read an actual marvel comic.

pianolove I'm old so Barry Allen is my touchstone for the Flash, but I like Bart a lot. I think it's a tribute to writers, though, when so many characters can have fervent fans. And I'm so glad when I see the little ones loving heroes - all the little Wonder Women or Captain Americas running around..... It's always interesting how much emotion people bring to their favorites, though. As I said old here, but I can remember the absolute disdain, ok, hate, people had for Jason Todd (mostly because he's not Dick Grayson). And interesting how through the years Jason has evolved within the Bat Family. But sometimes I think it's whichever iteration you grew up with will remain your favorite, even through a million reboots. I've read so many stories that absolutely treasure Tim Drake, and I'm sitting there going, well, he's ok and all.... For whatever reason, I missed the entire MCU universe for YEARS - I was amazed, I mean my jaw actually dropped, when I saw Robert Redford in the Winter Soldier. I couldn't believe an actor of that caliber was in a 'comics' movie. Yep, big learning curve for me. That said, I reject Zach Snyder and all his works. That is not my Batman, that is not my Superman, and darn it, that's not Dick Grayson's uniform in the trophy case. Makes my blood pressure go up just to think about it. LOL

The AMC chain in my area seems to be glitching again on Endgame tickets - now they're showing multiple theaters and show times but absolutely none are available. Fandango is showing theaters and times, but says tickets coming soon.
ETA - interesting that some theaters are not showing up with Endgame even though for sure they'll be showing it. I feel sorry for the IT people who will be trying to support this ticket sale.

I have to admit I've tried to put the movies out of my mind - I dimly recollect that Affleck wasn't as bad as I feared, and Henry Cavill, while no Christopher Reeve, was ok. But the unrelenting darkness....yikes, just not the DC universe for me. Loved Wonder Woman, enjoyed Aquaman, and truly looking forward to Shazam.

We purposely avoided watching the horrendous BvsS movie, because hell no to giving them our money. But then it was available for free viewing on our cruise a few years ago. So we got some drinks, took them back to our room, and settled in to mock it. Super fun. Movie still sucked though.

athn64 and pianolove, Shazam got on my radar fairly early because I was a huge fan of the TV show Chuck, which starred Zachary Levi and a ton of great actors (and which also introduced me to the beautiful Matt Bomer pre-White Collar). I loved Zachary Levi - for me he's just one of those actors you grow very fond of. I never really read Shazam and have only a hazy understanding of the entire Captain Marvel copyright going back and forth between DC, Marvel and Fawcett. But, the trailers look great, and I also want something more or less light hearted. The early reviews are looking terrific, and it sounds like it's actually family friendly as well. I'm actually a kid at heart - I want to be inspired, especially these days. I'm hoping to take a friend for her birthday next week to Shazam, and if not, I'll take myself! I need something cheerful before Endgame.

The whole Captain Marvel copyright thing is about as confusing to me as when Marvel sold off the movie rights to the X-Men. No mutants in the MCU!!! Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are enhanced not mutants!!! Tesseract giving powers to everyone!!! Hey, abracadabra, presto chango - now all the rights are back in house, yay Disney! I think.....
