We're not big white drinkers, but we drink them if I cook with it. I opted to go with a sparking white for mimosas or something. Edit... not that I can sit by myself and enjoy a bottle of these days, but H will drink it and I can sip, or it'll stock pile until November when I can drink again. lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Me: is OT covered in my policy? Them: we cover 80% once the deductible is met. You have 20 visits per year. Me: if the occupational therapist feels more is needed do they just request more? Them: yes and if it's deemed medically necessary then they will authorize more. Me: are there any exclusions to those 20 visits or exclusions of extra visits are requested? Them: no. No exclusions. Me: ok thanks!
Now I just need to appeal and say who I talked to and the date/time.checking with OT to see what else I should do when appealing.
I did, very carefully, read my benefits booklet, the exclusions part, and finally found the paragraph they keep pasting into these denials but s1 doesn't fit under it nor does it mention OT specifically just "services"
I also found out they don't cover fertility treatments or penis impotence. They suck.

The tarte issue was fixed. Apparently 4 blank orders went in... how that's possible I'll never understand. They were actually great with the error and I they offered 15% of my order. Tempting.

I am actually really curious if what we pay in income taxes is similar to what you pay in health insurance? I know when my cousin lived in Chicago he was blown away by how little tax he had to pay.

We pay for health insurance and then We pay a deductible and then we pay 20% of the bill. I'm pretty sure we pay close to 6K on insurance a year and that's before our deductible of 1,250 per person and 3,000 for family is met.

The data I read says that for the most part, when you factor in our out of pocket costs + the price of insurance, you guys end up coming out ahead, even with the higher taxes.

Even if it was exactly the same amount, I think it's more for the money. You guys seem to pay a lot more for the same thing. And then it's widely available. Definitely some issues with our healthcare but overall, it makes me sad that some Americans are so scared of it.

Ugh- I'd kill- we pay about $1K a month for our insurance, have the $5K family ($3K) individual and copay with possible % depending on the services. And for what it's work paid over $20K to the IRS last year. Edit- our insurance is through H's employer. That's what we pay, they also pay a portion, I just don't know what it is. I haven't paid attention in a while but I believe my taxes are around $600 per biqweekly cheque. But that includes things like EI which is insurance for paid maternity leave etc. Also highly dependent on income and as a student, I got most of it back at tax time.

That's kind of shocking. I thought it was like you guys were paying barely any taxes, and then crappy amounts for insurance.

CestLaVie, we have insurance through MH's company, and we actually pay $0/ month for health insurance for our family. His employer pays about $1750/ month. We do pay about $40/ month to add vision and dental for the family. But this is a very rare situation. I know that we are insanely lucky (and the word on the street is that benefits there are going to be cut somewhat soon).

Standby- making a burner email. I need a lesson in internet safety. I hand out my email address (my full first and last name) like candy. I should probably include my social security number in the signature while I'm at it. this made me laugh. me too. I can think of at least 3 people on this board I've sent it to haha.
