Today I took the kids to Target to stock up on dish soap, hand soap, paper towels, etc.—all the stuff we need that I don’t want to have to trek out with 3 kids in the dead of winter for. And I did a little more organizing in the nursery and big kids’ rooms, plus started on the redecorating of the big kids’ room. Tonight is DD’s last night in the nursery 😭
I think I overdid it a little the past two days because my back is killing me tonight. I am so eager to get everything moved and sorted but I probably should just calm my tits lol. I had grand plans tonight of doing two loads of baby laundry but in the end I just couldn’t. Instead I watched X Files reruns and worked on the latch hook rug I’m making for baby.

***TMI warning***
Holy mucous!!!
For nearly 2 weeks I've had increasing creamy discharge, always tinged tan with old blood (being on blood thinners). Put myself on pelvic rest.
Last few days, it has become clear and tan globby jelly mucous, some in huge blobs (3 plus inches long and at least half an inch thick) streaked with deep red blood. Every time I pee, I have to wipe at least 3-4 times to clean off all the jelly like discharge that comes out.
Had a growth scan yesterday and they checked my cervix, it was 2.5cm and they didn't say there was any problem. 2 months ago it was 3.5cm. Baby is head down lodged right there at my cervix. (Measuring 75th percentile, 3lb 4oz, 10 days ahead.)
I see the OB Monday and they're closed today, but i was wondering, is it normal to have such copious egg white mucous as pregnancy hormones increase? Is this what a mucous plug looks like and if so does it matter if I'm always discharging it?

Big hugs to the mamas with GD. This really is a terrible time of year to have to deal with it >.<

sunshiney, yes that is pretty normal. It's one of those lovely things people don't usually talk about but it is quite common. I've definitely had an increase each time I've been pregnant. dashook, I've been stocking up on TP, soap, paper towels, and dishwasher pods because I agree that having to drag 3 kids around in winter for that sounds horrible. I also plan to take full advantage of my Amazon Prime/Pantry this winter to avoid having to go out so much. Cold weather is bad enough, but I worry there is going to be a late Flu season as so far there has been little activity. I had another appointment this week. I'm pretty sure I'll have 2 a week from here on out. One with high risk and one with my regular OB. I had a BPP today and she passed. She was doing a lot of practice breathing which the tech said was really good for her gestational age. I'm having to start some insulin at night because my fasting sugars are staying higher than they would like no matter what I do. I'm a little bummed about that but knew it was probably coming. I will do whatever to keep this baby as healthy as possible but I was hoping to avoid meds.

sunshiney, I'm always really mucous-y when I'm pregnant, especially during 3rd tri. It's gross but nothing like when I loose my MP. It's super bloody and super bleh.

tngrl3 yay for passing the BPP! Embrace each victory as it comes. I'm sorry you have to start the insulin but hope it gives you more victories in the weeks to come. I know you know there's nothing you could do and you are doing absolutely everything for her - hugs through this hurdle, too. <3 I'm with you ladies on the stockpiling. I essentially turn my house into either a survival bunker where we'd have enough to survive for months without leaving or a place capable of providing for a small country. No regrets though, it's so nice to know I have stuff when I need it and don't *have* to go out! Prepping for a weekend of laundry and baking. We'll take the boys to a breakfast with Santa on Sunday so that will be fun.

strawberrykiki I second sunshiney, make a list! I joke that my post-delivery food list is my birth plan, but it's kind of not a joke. DH knows there are certain things from certain places he will be going to get while I'm still in the hospital recovering (and after) and I have no shame about asking family to stop somewhere when they first come to visit. They get to ogle the baby, I get to eat carbs I haven't had in months. Fair trade. Which just sparked the memory that I totally sat in the corner rocking chair with a pizza box in my lap after DS1 and it was glorious. Hugs, the holidays ARE hard. Freeze what you can to enjoy later, and there's no rule that you can't make holiday treats off-season!

I have spent the last 3 hours working on all things freezer meal related while at work. It's so dead here. When I get home, I plan on wrapping the gifts that have come in over this last week and going through the kids' things. The dog rescue we work with is having their Christmas party this afternoon but I'm just not feeling up to socializing so I doubt I'll go.

FREEEEDOOOMMMM!!!
It was so dumb, you guys. Even sales was really slow so it was just a bunch of employees standing around twiddling our thumbs. Also, decided to get an estimated cost for my freezer meals going and my brain is numb. No more thinking today.

Night one of two kids sharing a room went pretty well! They stayed up late and woke up early so some good naps were had today.
Our new glider arrived yesterday so DH just has to build that tomorrow and then the nursery will be ready for a baby!! I cleaned and vacuumed today and removed the last of DD’s stuff. There are even newborn diapers in the drawer 😱😭

I’m feeling so very pregnant right now. I woke up at 2am and started cleaning my kitchen (so unlike me), I ate leftover bday bday cake for breakfast, and I’m wearing my hair in a wet bun to work. One of the secretaries said I have “mom hair” today. thanks?

Lol I didn’t know a wet bun was mom hair. I blow dry my hair maybe once every...75?...washes, and it goes in a wet bun or braid every other time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

hrh, My BIL and his wife do that all the time to H's family. Seriously, they're always making plans change. Last year, I think my MIL was over it when they wanted to push Christmas morning stuff until the afternoon and she told them to show up whenever but the rest of us were having breakfast and presents as usual. And when they did finally show up later that day, they made us all watch their kids open gifts even though at this point it was the extended family dinner and not just immediate family. And then all the other little kiddos kept asking why they didn't get anything -.-

hrh, Agreed! And then their first year with a baby in their house, they said they couldn't make Christmas morning at my ILs. Like, ok, that's fine, no big deal. New family means new traditions. Except turns out, they had invited H's parents over for breakfast that morning and gift opening but had no intention of inviting or even telling us (even though it would make us have to change plans). They didn't even tell H's younger brother who only gets to come home twice a year and is always home for Christmas. Like, WTF? He stays at his parents so what, he should just wake up without anyone home Christmas morning? Anyway, ILs put their foot down and basically told them they wouldn't make breakfast or gifts in the morning unless the rest of us had an invite. Turns out, SIL's entire family was over there that morning so that was a bit surprising for us. Basically, it's really my SIL who has to have everything done on her schedule and BIL just doesn't care enough to argue.

hrh thelittleredm That’s super annoying. Some people are so inconsiderate and can make holiday celebrations so much more stressful than they need to be. We’ve done the same thing for years and I’m glad our traditions are set because holiday stress can be the worst. I’m sorry y’all have to deal with that!

OB kinda freaked out about preterm labor when I told her about the blood streaked mucous I'd had all last week, but checked me and said everything looks fine, plus my cervix is nice and long and closed. I wasn't worried because I have at most one or maybe two BH per day and they're usually very mild. Ute is measuring 4 weeks ahead...eek...

hrh I'm sorry she was such a brat, but I have to say I made a cheer when I read that your mom is gracefully saying no!! I'm glad it's being handled well, there will always be peoole who try to push and it's never fun to enforce boundaries but I'm glad your family is going to continue enjoying your traditions.

hrh ugh!! I’m guessing your SIL isn’t the most easy person to get along with in general? I’m glad your mom is holding firm! It’s extra tacky for her to text that too. Ugh.

Huge pregnancy brain moment just now.
I looked at my coffee maker and noticed that the carage onky had about 2.5 cups in it. I proceeded to freak out because I thought I put enough water in there for 5. First thought: did I actually forget to put water in? [I’ve accidentally done this before], no no, I remember putting in 5 cups. Second thought: maybe something got stuck in the filter? [checks filter, which is fine]. Third thought: OMG DO I NEED A NEW COFFEE MAKER?!?
All of these thoughts transpired before finally I glanced right and saw my coffee mug into which I had already poured myself my first serving of coffee.
Time to go back to bed.

That’s something I would do. I need to run some vinegar through our coffee maker bc it’s clogged from our hard water and I have to push the brew button a million times to get a full pot.

dashook, Oh no!! I think soda is giving me heartburn, now. I never had heartburn with my other two kids so I'm disappointed I'm not avoiding it this time around.
