Anyone ready to start talking names? Let’s hear those ideas!

We have a few we are thinking about. My personal favorite right now is Madeleine. Our other two girls are Ingrid and Eleanor.

We will likely wait at least until our anatomy scan to discuss. We didn't agree on a name for DS until the week he was due...so I'm not even bothering with discussing names for both sexes this time. Hopefully H is more helpful and less dismissive of all the names I like this time.

We’ve had a name picked out for a while, since I love looking at name sites. We’re 99% sure this kid will be Jonathan Philip, with the middle name after my grandfather. As far as H is concerned, the only thing that would change our kid’s name would be if my BFF uses Jonathan on her baby this winter. She’s due about 4 months before me, and the kids will grow up like cousins, so we don’t want to use the same name. I don’t think it’s likely, though!

I have a name I love, but DH is sort of 'yeah, it's good' about it still. I can't figure out any middle names though.
DS is Brian Darrell (Darrell after DH's grandpa)
I like Owen as a sibling name, but the only names I have to pick from on my side for a middle name are Loma and Garth. I'm leaning towards Garth but it's not as smooth as DS's full name.
ETA: Now I feel like they sound maybe a little too similar? They both end in that an/en sound.

lol I was just coming to make this thread!!
We have boy and girl names picked out.
My son has a very strong Italian family name as a first name and a very distinct family name as a middle name. Which I love. But we set ourselves up for difficulty with naming other kids!
For a girl- Eleonore Elvira (my German grandmas name and my husband's grandmas name)
For a boy- this was harder bc we didn't have any family names we liked that seemed to fit wth F's name at all. So one day I searched after loss meaningful names and found Benedict which means gift from god and fell in love with that. If it can't be a family name at least he will have a special meaning. So we will do Benedict Michael (my husband's middle name and my fathers first name) for a boy.

I love these threads and reading everybody's names! lolacachia, I love the name Elvira. My DD is named after my grandma, both her first and middle name. It's going to be hard coming up with another girl name because I have such a deep connection to DDs name since my grandma has passed. We are thinking about Magnolia for a girl but not decided for sure. I know it's not everybody's style but love Magnolia trees/flowers and think it's a pretty name. It also goes well with DDs name. But we live in an area where Magnolia is a brand/real estate agency of a popular tv couple so he is worried people will think we named her after that lol. I'm also having a hard time deciding what the middle name would be. I think Magnolia Grace is my favorite but my sisters name is Grace and I think it might be kind of weird to name her after my sister? Idk. We already have a boys name chosen that we would have used if DD had been a boy. Middle name would be Kyle after my Hs middle name.

sunny75, Magnolia Grace is really pretty, but I can see your H’s point. Maybe Magnolia as a middle name?

sunny75, I love the name Magnolia with a nn of Maggie. I have strongly considered it but my H's taste is much more classic.

For a girl, we are pretty set on Joliette Dyan (a variation of the way my mom spells her name). If it's a boy we will use Wyatt Carlyle, middle name after my dad. I love both names and will be happy to use either!

bonzo, Yeah I may have to consider it as a middle name. I'll be following this thread though to see if I can find another name I like better! midnight, I love both of your names!

sunny75, I think Magnolia Grace sounds beautiful and would hope people would realize that it's after the flower/tree - which I'm guessing was the inspiration for the tv couple to choose that name as well. The Magnolia that I know IRL is adorable.

DH likes to veto my names and hasn't been much help in the way of discussions so I am very excited to see a name thread. We do know that we'd like to use John as a middle name as it's a family name on both sides. If it's anything like last time, there won't be any decisions until it's down to the wire.
My current favs, family names have the *, last name starts with M: *Alice Elizabeth (nn: Libbie) Kenzie Maya Violet Vivian
Boys: *Axel John *Edmund John *Franklin John Isaac John Sullivan John

This is my current list, but now that I'm looking it over again, Owen is the only boy name I still like one it. I really had wanted Owen for DS but H didn't really like it...maybe I'll try again if this is a boy haha!
Girl: MN will likely be Lyn, Michele, or Faye bc of family names
Rosalie Lillian Cora Josephine Caroline
Boy: MN might be Donald for 3 of our grandpas- I don't really love the name but would love to honor them.
Owen Milo Theodore Thaddeus

My boy name is Adam Matthew My girl name is Lucy need a middle name. Or maybe need a new name Lucy can be the middle name. I want an S name but can’t use Sara Stephanie Salina, family names. Savannah and Seraphina aren’t my style And a stupid horrible person ruined Sofia for me. What’s left ? And DD middle name is Scarlet and I’m Samantha. There are no S names left Sally it is.

mamabear02, I know somebody named Thaddeus and they use the nickname Thad. I think that's really cute and unique but also classic. But I like Owen too!

Any more name talk? Are we the only ones that are nowhere near deciding on a name? DH doesn't offer much input other than to veto names and I think he's convinced we'll just wait to see the baby and then decide - I at least need to have a few narrowed down.
I've been trying to get him to do the Kinder app but he's been so busy at work. So far the only "match" we've had is Chloe.

bearfootzcontinued, We aren't any closer to choosing a name either! My DH is the same way- not a single suggestion but always quick to veto any name I suggest. I'm started to get frustrated. We are kind of considering using Abigail because it's the only other name we've agreed on but I'm not 100% sold on it. I don't think it's as pretty as my DDs name. Would you consider using the name Chloe?

Yeah, I do like Chloe - but our older two both have C names as well and I'm afraid it will be a tongue twister to have all three with a C so want to get more feedback from him on other names.
For what it's worth, I think Abigail is a very pretty name too.

My H is not super helpful other than vetoing names. We *might* both agree on Owen Donald (Donald is after 3/4 of our grandpas). I’m not feeling super set on it though but can’t come up with other names I like even. We’re both fairly traditional with names. DS is Samuel (Sam).

We are horrible at selecting names, DD was not named till we were leaving the hospital, DS was not named till his second day. We have no names in common that we like this time around, and being team green means we need to figure out both boy and girl names.

I keep coming back to one of them but I’m not ruling out being struck by something else in the time being.

I hope you guys don't mind if I jump back in here a bit. I will for sure be delivering in June and wouldn't mind playing on this board a bit more again if that's ok.
We have a name picked out already. Which is crazy to me since we didn't name DD until a full month after she was born. She is named for FIL and my maternal grandmother. This DD will be named for SO's uncle and my paternal grandmother.
DD is Mi.la A.na and this DD will be Ni.kola A.va. Unless SO changes his mind at the last minute as he is prone to do!

DH is thinking Jacob for a boy. We both like it, but I worry that it was so popular previously that we would be on the tail end of a trend, if that makes sense. I probably should not let that bother me, but it does. .

courtniko, I think Jacob is a pretty steadfast, traditional name so I wouldn’t worry that it had a surge in popularity recently. It’s actually one of the names I wish we could use but can’t because it’s already in the family.

courtniko, I wouldn’t worry about Jacob being popular recently. My feeling with classic names is that they never go out of style. And I haven’t met any tiny Jacobs, if that helps!
