For baby #2 my list consists of the boring stuff like diapers and wipes. I want a wrap or other type of new baby carrier, I haven't decided yet. I'm also considering a double stroller but haven't done any research. I'm sure there's more but I haven't put much thought into it.

I want all the baby sleep gowns. They were the easiest for me the first time and I have such a hard time finding them in stores.

I made an Amazon registry, partially for the completion discount, but also because there are a few things I would like to try this time around. So far I've only bought a Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Sleeper. We used a bassinet last time for DS, and it worked well, but I've heard so many good things about the rock'n'play sleepers I figured we'd give it at try (especially since it was on sale for a great price). I've also got a few baby girl clothing items, head bands/bows, more muslin blankets (DS's favorite thing), and a K'tan on there.

These are the things that i want. Obviously some can wait more than others. With an active toddler, i will have to go out more with a little baby, so I'm pushing for latched mama clothes to make it a little more comfortable/So I'm not stuck in maternity clothes for the first 6 months of my child's life.

After my baby shower - where not to whine, most of my family completely ignored my registry and just got us clothes - I really trimmed my registry aka shopping list. Since most of the baby necessities are going to be on us, I really need to budget and just get things I need.
Left to get is:
Pack and Play (our newborn sleeping solution) Nursing pillow Changing pad (needed in our house imo) Diaper bag Extra car seat base (also needed for our driveway situation) Stroller White noise machine Large/Small wet bags for CDs

This is #2 so we have plenty of stuff we can reuse (stroller, car seat, pack and play, rock n play, jumperoo, etc.). A lot of our "new" stuff has to do with creating the nursery (we did buy a new crib and dresser/changing table).
I did buy a double stroller from a friend at a great price. Turns out, it will work with the infant car seat we already have AND one of the seats lays flat into a bassinet for a newborn if we want that option. I didn't even know that when I bought it.
I also bought a bouncer from the same friend bc I always wanted one with DD but never spent the money.
I've been picking up clothes, bibs, burp clothes, etc. here and there when I find good sales. I've also been trying to stock up on diapers when I can. I have a registry but I don't expect a shower, so it's mostly for the completion discount. My registry has things like:
Bathtub Blankets New Bobby New Bumbo Towels/Wash clothes Video Monitor K'tan wrap Kick N Play gym (because DD's was a hand me down and the sound never worked)

Any favorite brands on things? There are a million different brands. I think we are going to be gifted a bassinet and a stroller so that will help immensely. I think I like the sleep gowns - I should add more!

I could type a novel to give my opinion on all, but no one wants to read that book

Mine is more of a don't forget to buy this registry. I put on there:
Bottle nipples Crib Dresser Sleep n plays (DD lived in these for the first 4ish months) Double stroller (depends on if I'll be running with both kids or just sequel) Sound machine (DD still uses hers) Diapers Wipes Crib sheets Mattress pads Dishwasher basket for bottle parts
I'm sure there's more but this is just off the top of my head

I think I like the sleep gowns - I should add more! I have no loyalty to brands but one thing I'll mention is your stroller. If it's one that you can connect an infant car seat into, then it could be worth looking at the brand for car seats. Example: I was looking at Britax or Chicco for our infant seat and stroller, but my SIL gifted us her 1.5 year old Graco infant car seat, so I just switched my stroller to Graco too. As long as it fits in your cars, I don't think there's a lot of difference in safety.

Any bottle preferences? Used Dr Brown last time but wanted something with less parts this go 'round. We used the Avent natural and had no issues with it. Only 3 parts... well 4 of you count the cap. My sister also got me a new one to try that looks good. I think it's the Nuk simply natural

My mom swears by these but the two I had did not seem to fit over DDs head (I think they were Gerber or Carter brand?) ... or maybe newborn babies aren't as fragile as I thought she was?

My cousin recommended this changing pad to me. www.amazon.com/dp/B00KSW970Y/ref=twister_B009CLFF6C?_encoding=UTF8&th=1I loved the thought of something I could just wipe down when we got something on it. Back when I was pregnant last time it ran around $99 I'm pretty sure, and I didn't want to spend that on a changing pad so I looked around and Target had a knock off one for $39 or so. I got that one and we've been using it ever since. Our SIL asked me to get her one for their second child because she loved ours so much. I'm really sad that Target quit carrying it - it was an online only item at the time I got mine.

I think I like the sleep gowns - I should add more! In terms of brands, there's no right or wrong. Everyone is going to have a different opinion. I was so overwhelmed registering last time, but a friend recommended the Baby Bargains book (https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Bargains-Version-12-0-released-ebook/dp/B06ZZY27XF/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498080423&sr=8-1&keywords=baby+bargains+book+2017). It was a life saver. You can use it to find a great product based on your needs/budget and then update your registry online. They do the research for you and save a ton of time. I also recommend signing up for Lucy's List. I know they're pricey, but I love the 4Moms Breeze Playard and the Mamaroo. I registered for these with DS and did not expect to get them, but my colleagues from work were super generous and got the Breeze and my sister bought me the Mamaroo. The Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play is fantastic. I've loved our Britax travel system and I'm a big fan of the Inglesina umbrella stroller. This weekend I'm getting a city mini double stroller from a friend- SO EXCITED! I just need to figure out if I can get an adapter for the Britax infant carrier. I want the Halo Bassinest swivel sleeper this time around, but I'll only get it if I come in under budget after decorating the nursery.

danvers Gerber brand runs super small. I think I got Carters mostly? The only place I could really find the gowns was Babies R Us.

Any bottle preferences? Used Dr Brown last time but wanted something with less parts this go 'round. I'm not even kidding when I say we tried over 10 brands with DD. She took not a single bottle before going to daycare at 5 months. Daycare got her to drink everything on day 1 (and every day since then) using the Target/Munchkin brand. They're easier to clean than Dr. Browns but the bottom can leak if not properly sealed with their air vent thing.

If you are having a boy, and plan on circumcising, I highly recommend getting Vaseline in a tube. So much easier/less messy than scooping it from a container.
I plan on buying some Zutano brand booties-my other 2 kids had very long, narrow feet that socks would not stay on. Hoping these work.
I also plan on buying new nail clippers, some gripe water, infant meds, sleepers-zip ups and gowns, new crib sheets, nursing pads+regular pads for me, and I think that's it. Plus diapers and wipes of course.
