This last 5 days have been a whirlwind and insane here.
We went on our extended weekend trip sun through today. I had to call the hitel multiple times prior and they ended uo giving us a sweet room with a porch near the entrance. It ended up being awesome because we watched the tree lighting feom our porch instead of downstairs with the crowd. It was also an unseasonable 60 degrees.
J had a rough night sundat. He was up 3 times, 1 time for an hour. Monday i realized both his top molars poked through. We had fun monday. He saw santa and didnt cry, we swam, i had a massage, we walked with j everywhere. We must have tired him out. He refused to sleep in the hotel crib so he slept with us and slept theiugh the night 11 hours! This is unheard of. Dh and i went to bed at 830 and got up at 6. It was glorious.
I left this morning for the funeral. It was 25 degrees and snowing. Took 2 hours to get there. Had viewing for an hour then funeral. It then took an hour to drive to the grave site. Then an hiur back to my car and 3 hours home because of snow and ice. Im exhausted.

R has a bad diaper rash. She’s got two spots that are raw and have bled. I’m hoping to get it under control this weekend. Girl was pooping 4 times a day and my mom was watching her more since H has to go to work earlier since Thanksgiving. My mom changes her a lot, but I’m not sure she’s putting enough stuff on it. I also think her fairer skin is to blame for her diaper rashes.
R has started using her signs more to initiate communicating. It’s freaking adorable. I also sometimes play some videos on YouTube with signing and it’s cute to watch her try them.

Ended up being a yeast infection- soon as i started with miconazol ointment it luckily cleared within a couple days. Her whole bottom was covered and i was so worried uur may hurt but luckily did all good now phew. Hope Rs wil be better soon too!

Had posted this in last weeks randoms.... hadn't realized or was the old thread!
Took D. back to the GP yesterday for a check-up, since she's still poorly even after her weeklong course of abx. Her inner earinfection is as good as cleared, but she still got inflamed tonsils, poor kid. She's been dealing with upper respiratory infection crap since her birthday! (and before that she had the chickenpox and was poorly cause of teethies etc). I feel so bad for her (and also for ourselves tbh, as the nights continue to be rough with her waking up like every hour crying and even though she settles pretty quickly again, it is rough seeing the hours come by on the clock all night long). Looks like we may be visiting the ENT for advice early next year unless she makes a miraculous recovery over the holidays.
She had a hard time settling in last night but slept soundly from like midnight till 5.30. Her appetite is lacking but i guess food isn't fun with a throat ache so yeah... just wish i could make her feel better.

muscari that all so terrible! I cannot imagine how your gift must be feeling, that is more illness than anyone should handle. J has been suffering with allergies. Seriously it is December why are we still dealing with mold in the Chesapeake, this is crazy. We took the kids to a horse farm open house that was Christmas themed. It is where we got married and we hadn't been back since. The kids were crazy running around and my daughter finally got a pony ride, I swear it was the most well behaved ten minutes of her life! They did Christmas photos with the horses bit of course all four of us never looked at the camera at the same time...

bsouls, what kind of rash cream are you using? We’ve always had great success with triple paste. I hope it clears up for her soon. muscari, it really is unfair with the amount of illness you’ve been dealing with. I hope you all get well soon! And that YH can find another job quickly. yellowcat, the horse farm sound cool! Taking photos with kids is impossible. Lol

A actually stood up without assistance for the first time last night. I may have a walker by Christmas!
I tried to take him to the gym daycare yesterday, but he refused to let me leave. It is only his 5th time going and it was insane and super busy. So I hope it doesn’t become a thing with him. I’ve really been enjoying going to the gym and letting him have some time with other kids.

I started yesterday giving her a ten minute bath with baking soda after she poops. It’s looking good, except for the 3-4 raw spots. I’m hoping my mom will be able to do the baths the next couple days since she we will be with her during the day.

Or get some chuck pads or thick towels during naptime and let her nap without a diaper on? And put a fan on it? When our babies at work get bad rashes like that we do aquaphor + desitin and then open to sit and let the airbag blow air on it. Hope your mom can keep up the baths. Sensitive tushy skin is the worst. Noah’s skin is so white and sensitive like his dad’s, I’m always slathering cream on it since his poop is on the mushier side bc of all the fruit he eats. If we don’t change his diaper within ten min of a poop (like if we don’t realize) he breaks out in a rash. It’s crazy.

yellowcat that farm trip sounds like it was really nice! How are you feeling these days? muscari oh my gosh. Sending all the healing and recovery vibes to you and D. Fx for your dh to find another position soon. I’m sorry - that must be stressful. pennylane how’s the unpacking part of moving going? @starzia how are you feeling? How many weeks are you? @easilyunamused wooo A!! He’s got it! I hope the clinging was a one time thing. I’m so jealous you have the gym and dc option there! king26 that trip sounds lovely!! Sorry about your aunt. That driving sounds exhausting. bsouls how awesome that she is so into the signing. N signs more now and it’s so helpful when we are like .... is he full? ... then he signs more and we’re like nope! Here’s more food! Your H was the one that got a new position and it was going to change your guys’ schedules a lot right? How is that transition going? Is that why your mom is watching her more now?

If we don’t change his diaper within ten min of a poop (like if we don’t realize) he breaks out in a rash. It’s crazy. I let her walk around after the bath naked for a little bit. I’m hesitant to put her to nap without a diaper on since she often wakes with a poop. When she was in the NICU, she got really bad and we had to ask that they put something on her. We stopped giving her strawberries until it clears up and the only fruit we are giving her is bananas. R is like N in regards to needing a poop changed, but usually it doesn’t get this bad. I don’t know if her teething and head cold helped with it getting out of control.

addymac Yes, H goes in earlier now so my mom is watching R. My mom goes to Texas sometime in January to be with her husband. H is already talking to a friend about possibly getting a job somewhere else. His hours would be similar, but it’d be nice to have a set schedule. Like, if we know he has to always be at work at 3pm, then we’d be able to try to find someone 2-4:30pm or something. Now, every day is different and we don’t know until the Friday before what the next week is exactly.

Isn’t it always something going wrong in a house with small kids? This morning I ran into the corner of our toddler slide and broke a toe. So I’m stuck in a walking cast for 4-6 weeks! With instructions to rest and elevate as much as possible (which is seriously laughable with a 1 & 4 yr old!!).

Damn pennylane, I’m sorry, that sucks. Why do they have you in a cast though for a broken toe??! It’s not a actual cast, but a shoe thing that Velcro’s on (no idea what its called). Just to keep it more stable since I have to be chasing the kids.
