I saw Michelle Obama last night in DC. She was so warm and kind and funny. I love her.

Snow day due to “blizzard”- snow, ice, wind and power outages. My kids will be thrilled to be home for the Paw Patrol marathon and I’m going to be hanging out here

I'll talk about Ukraine here. The president has imposed martial law for the next two months pending parliamentary approval.

I have a story about Ru.ssian trolls that I want to tell but honestly it's made me realize they are reading EVERYTHING.

That is super messed up, kitchen. Pu.tin is a scary individual, and the only thing more terrifying is how easily Trump is emulating him here.

@kichen, that is seriously fucked. Knowing that makes me even more uncomfortable and nervous about everything going on.

crunch, I bet she was amazing!! I think katespade was there too. I need to get back into her book; we should start a thread. I was! My 65 year old friend invited me on a lady date and we had pretty decent seats (we were just above the floor seats). The hype videos at the beginning with all of the photos gave me chills. For someone who used to be a Republican and didn’t vote for Obama either time, that event really impacted me a lot more than I expected.

a bunch of my friends went to the MObama thing last night but between having to buy a new phone, new van, and new coffee maker in like four days I didn't really feel like I should spend the money I did get a sexy new-to-me Odyssey though!

notblanche I'd totally be down for discussing her book. She was so down to earth. She spoke about the beginning of campaigning and the presidency and how a lot of stuff fell onto her: kid's doctors appointments, school conferences, putting fall clothes away and making sure the kids had enough spring and summer clothes, figuring out when the kids shots were due, the vet appointments etc. I relate to that so much because that's my life. I'm alone a lot, for months at a time, and everything defaults to me. It's hard. I cried last night when she was talking about it.

Corsi offered plea deal for perjury related to WikiLeaks:
Apparently Trump is trying to discredit the investigation by wondering aloud on Twitter why Mueller hasn't questioned more campaign workers.

someone from ICE was saying this morning that the tear gas was only deployed when agents were attacked and claiming that the majority of those at the border were young men, not women and children. Except the photos all directly contradict that.

That first reply about the Shining II made me audibly laugh at work. I don't know how this WH makes me salty about Christmas decorations of all things, but they can't even do that well.

Heads up to anyone who works in DC, the National Tree Lighting ceremony is Wednesday 11/28. The website doesn't appear to list a time but it's usually smack in the middle of rush hour.
Performing this year are a bunch of people I don't know, and one of the Irish Tenors.

He's on a school bus to a school across the city and this day is always the worst for traffic because so many roads are closed.

As complete chance would have it, I'm working from home that day. I usually take metro but with the yellow line shutdown who knows how many days I'll have to drive in the next two weeks.

A lot of base families keep their kids home from school that day but DCPS has been really pushing only excused absences and my son will be absent one day before winter break and they always threaten losing out of boundary spots so I'll have to send him. I should bake the bus driver cookies for that day for working so hard/long.

Oh goodness. GM is laying off 15% of salaried workers and halting production at 5 plants.
