Week/EDD: 16+3. May 9
Baby is the size of: a dill pickle
STM
Team: green
Appointments: first week of December and then the anatomy scan right before Christmas
Milestones: definitely showing a lot more
Symptoms: Heart burn. Hungry all the time
Rants: I posted in the announcement thread but my MIL kind of announced the new baby on social media yesterday and I've been irrationally annoyed since then. It's taken some of the fun out of our announcement.
Raves: I'm so happy that it's almost December. DD is a December baby and our anniversary is also in December so the whole month is just so much fun. And I'm feeling so much better that I can actually enjoy it.

Appointments: Next up is Dec 5th
Milestones: N/A

Week/EDD: 14 weeks
Baby is the size of: Lemon
FTM, Etc: STM, DS is 20 months
Team: Blue! Found out this week we're having another boy, and all the results were good for his genetic screening.
Appointments: Dec 11th.
Milestones: 2nd Tri. Which, I always thought started at 13 weeks, but I guess it's 14?
Symptoms: Everything is evening out now. My belly is poking out, but that's just because I can't suck my gut in anymore, so I'm going with it.
Rants: I got the stomach flu, on Thanksgiving day. Worked all day in the kitchen, sat down to eat, couldn't finish my plate or my 1/2 glass of wine, then puked all night and sat on the couch sweating and shivering. Not my best Thanksgiving, and now I can't even look at all the leftovers in the fridge without gagging.
Raves: I'm not as exhausted, and that's very nice. I can't haul the 30 lbs of toddler around anymore, so DH is doing that now though. lol.

sunny75, I’m sorry your MIL posted on social media before you could. It’s so frustrating when people share news that isn’t theirs to share. mamabear02, I hope your ILs get more excited! But yay to seeing the end of symptoms coming closer! quinstar, congrats on a good genetic screening, and finding out it’s a boy! I think that’s 3 boys on our board so far? midnight, that’s exciting that you could find the heartbeat on the Doppler! lolacachia, I hope you’re able to stay positive between now and your appointment, and that everything looks fantastic when you’re there!

bonzo what are they looking for your progesterone to be? I thought at 12 weeks latest your placenta takes over and adding progesterone didn't matter anymore?

bonzo what are they looking for your progesterone to be? I thought at 12 weeks latest your placenta takes over and adding progesterone didn't matter anymore? They want it over 20, and last Tuesday (11w5d) it was at 16, after being off the shots for two days. From what my nurse said, at a regular OB they’d be happy with anything from 10-40 at that stage if they tested progesterone. But my RE is extra cautious. He’s one of the top REs in the country, and I think being extra observant and cautious when weaning may be part of that.

Is earwax a pregnancy thing? I feel like I’ve had ridiculous amounts lately, but I have no idea if this is normal or if my ears are being weird!

Extra earwax, extra hair on my belly, dry heaving when I open the fridge...so sexy.

Week/EDD: 8 weeks, 7/4/19 Baby is the size of: strawberry FTM, Etc 3rd Team: green Appointments: Last week was my first appt with the OB nurse, she was super nice. I have an unexpected appt. this afternoon because I'm having some issues in the nether regions. Not exactly how I wanted to meet the doctor for the first time but need to figure out if I have a yeast infection or something else going on. Not fun. Milestones: Symptoms: Nausea off/on, pretty sensitive to smells, boobs are still sore Rants: I had confided in two of my sisters because I had to miss our siblings weekend. One sister blabbed to her husband and grown son and the son warned me this weekend that he might drink and tell the rest of the family so I should probably just let everyone know. Not how I had planned it. I made it clear that we're not telling the kids until 2nd trimester, and cannot tell DH's family until after the kids know (lots of young kids on his side). But anyhow, most of my family knows...except my mom which might seem weird but her reaction when I miscarried wasn't great so we're going to wait. Raves: I found out that another family member is also expecting, a few weeks after me. And my sister the blabber mouth told me she wants to host a sprinkle since my kids will be ten years apart, which I thought was sweet of her. Hi, jumping in a little late! I'll try to be good about checking in, but I currently live abroad in France, so sometimes it is hard to keep up with conversations in real time.
Week/EDD: 16/ May 11
Baby is the size of: avacado
FTM, Etc: 3rd
Team: Want to find out
Appointments: I have an appointment today in about an hour and a half. I'm kind of hoping they'll be able to see the sex of baby, but I know 16 weeks is early, so not really holding my breath. I think we wouldn't have anatomy scan until after Christmas most likely because of timing.
Milestones: Just happy to be out of the first trimester.
Symptoms: None really since leaving first trimester except for having to pee a lot.
Rants: Currently have a head cold, which is balls when you're pregnant. I have a saline spray to help, but the spray makes me gag (even beyond that, full on feel like I will throw up with salivation and everything). I'd stop using it, but it is actually helpful.
Raves:Did I say I am over the moon about being done with first tri symptoms? This is my third pregnancy, and I still am somehow surprised with how exhausted I feel early on. I also get 'morning' sickness, which isn't particularly bad in comparison to others, but it feels like I am suffering from motion sickness all day. No actual getting sick, just feel like complete crap/mildly nauseated all day long.

Welcome, harrisonbergeron! I’m sorry you have a cold. I’m afraid I might be coming down with one too. I’ve been dreading getting sick while pregnant, but I guess it was bound to happen. What brought you to France? I’m curious to hear how their prenatal care might be different from the US, since I know their overall healthcare system is different.

What brought you to France? I’m curious to hear how their prenatal care might be different from the US, since I know their overall healthcare system is different. My husband is a post doc here doing physics research. My first was been the US and the second in France, so I know what to expect! There are a lot of differences, mainly sweet sweet socialised medicine meaning way less expensive. When you have baby, you stay for 3-4 nights, which had pluses and minuses. They do due dates differently, however, my doctor is German and uses the same calculation used in the US. (So Dr says DD is 5/11, the French would say 5/18).

Update: Found out yesterday that we are almost definitely team pink! SO that makes three little girls in our family! I admit I had a small disappointment at first as this is our last pregnancy, and I would have liked to experience a boy, however, moving on to dreaming about the actual baby we will be welcoming soon instead of a theoretical baby. Plus, gender is just a construct etc so of course, 'experiencing' a boy and a girl is kind of silly..we'll get to experience three unique humans either way. H and I started talking names (maybe the hardest part about having all kids of the same sex...you start running out of your favorite names )

harrisonbergeron, that’s interesting about the due date calculation. I wonder why they give an extra week? And congrats on finding out it’s a girl!

harrisonbergeron , that’s interesting about the due date calculation. I wonder why they give an extra week? And congrats on finding out it’s a girl! I'm not exactly sure. My OB was pretty dismissive of it as not up to date science. I do know that they apparently treat the due date as much more of a last day before eviction type notice lol. Makes sense if you think about how that would be 7 days over due here. After due date, you are required to visit the doctor daily, and I suspect (but have no personal experience) that they begin talking about induction much more seriously at that point.
