I’m starting this thread because I’m already starting to plan S’ party. His bday is Jan 14 but we will be out of town for most of Decemberz I’m trying to get a head start on it now so I’m not ridiculously overwhelmed when we get back lol. If you’ve started thinking about this yet, put your ideas or thoughts here!
We are thinking of doing a “winter ONEderland” theme but I hate planning parties so the theme may just extend to the color of the plates & the snacks I choose to make lol. I originally wanted a Minnesota Vikings theme because he was born on the same day of the Minneapolis Miracle (the Vikings- saints playoff game) but H vetoed that lol.

I love first birthday parties! Can’t wait to see what everyone does.
This baby’s is January 13th, so I haven’t planned anything yet. But her first name starts with E and her middle name is Claire, so I kind of want to serve eclairs. 😂

I’m already planning because it’s going to come up faster than I want it to! I actually received her birthday crown in the mail the other day. We’re going with a pastel rainbow theme.

I’m still not 100% certain but we call Henry henny hen or hen hen for nicknames so we were thinking of a farm theme.

Ladybug theme! Her birthday is February 11 so I’m hoping we can get some cute valentine-like heart decorations to go with it.

We are also doing the winter onederland theme! I’m envisioning all things white, fluffy, white glitter... maybe hang some paper snowflakes on a banner, white balloons... target has these adorable small flocked Christmas trees right now for $3-5 (depending on what size you get). I might get a few as Christmas decor and reuse them as decor for her bday. You should ask linny what she did for some ideas (sorry for the random tag Linny haha, I just remember you doing this theme for W way back when) ETA I forgot to add the link to the mini trees www.target.com/p/burlap-wrapped-flocked-christmas-tree-white-wondershop-153/-/A-54145200

I got a lot of clearance winter stuff for Winter's party after Christmas that year. I bought snowflake cupcake toppers and did trees and christmas lights around our home and made a glittery banner. We also borrowed our church's snowcone maker which was a huge hit with the kids. Basically focused on glitzy winter decor. It was one of my favorite parties! I can't believe amesie and dragonflyinn planning 1st birthdays! Tell those babies to slow down!

Since we are the tail end of Feb, our party will most likely be in March. That's so close to Easter so I think I'm going to capitalize on "some BUNNY is turning one" 😍💕
Also, this thread seems apropos. In my other BMB we do a birthday exchange for the kids via Elfster. Would you ladies be interested in anything like that here? It's so fun.

Little mans birthday is 2 days after Christmas. My ils are coming up for Christmas and are staying until his birthday. I think we are just doing cake for the immediate family and then maybe a party in January but probably not. #SecondKidProblems

dragonflyinn We're doing the winter ONEderland over here too! My sister is making penguin cookies. I need to keep my eyes peeled for snowflake stuff on clearance. This is as far as I've gotten. I'm laughing over the Vikings, because DD was born on the 22nd (1 am) but I refused to go the hospital until after the Vikings game was over on Sunday.

I was so glad because S was born at 2am Sunday morning & that was all I wanted lol to watch the game in peace without being in active labor. So we watched our first game together, he was not even a day old! I brought an old Vikings onesie of DDs for him to wear in case he was already born & he fit pretty well in it even though it was a 6mo shirt 😂 And we hadn’t told anyone he had been born yet so people were messaging me saying stuff like “well if that game didn’t put you into labor not sure what will!” 😂 all the nurses knew about it and everyone came in to congratulate me after the game hahaha

I'll make a separate thread to post a vote and if we decide to, it can be the "idea" thread and reveal thread!

Thanks for helping me with V's birthday party. I love the Winter Onederland idea!
Sort of related, we also plan on getting family pics done around her 1st birthday. Our photographer just moved in to the neighborhood so I'm thinking we might have to try to do it on a snowy day. Is that crazy? I don't think the kids would be grumpier than usual b/c we go outside when it is cold all the time. PS-I say "our photographer" lol. She did them for DS's 1st too but that was the only time we've done photos so far.

I’m thinking I might do a prince theme. I’ve had family members call him a prince (his name is Harry). And when I say prince theme, I’ll probably just make a crown to go on top of the cake lol. I think the only “theme” thing I will do is a cake, which probably won’t be all that fancy.
Our house is too small to host both my family and my husband’s (this would just be parents, siblings and their families), so I’m already dreading it. But I know it won’t go over well if I don’t do anything.

We are going to do Where the Wild Things Are, and say he's the "Wild ONE." There are so many cute Pinterest ideas out there! I am the least crafty person ever though. The ideas in here are so cute! I love the Some Bunny is turning one sunfrogger .
