I am not feeling in a very thankful mood.
My neck issue is still...an issue. I can't go to buti because I'm afraid of making it worse. And now I have E and N's virus so I can't breathe so I can't go to buti.
I am realizing now how much I've been relying on buti to keep me sane the past six months and without that outlet I'm edgy.
And I'm really trying to sleep on my back so I'm not sleeping so I'm tired and grumpy AF.

This week is going to be crazy, O gets baptized on Sunday so I’ll be trying to keep up with all the holiday craziness AND that. I need to hit Party City for some general party things but I might go Friday. I wonder if that have a Black Friday sale😂

cornpop I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well. I totally understand getting edgy without your usual workout routine. I go nuts without mine. FX you're on the mend soon.

I’m thankful for friends who offered for us to stay at their house Saturday night since we had no electricity or heat. I’m also thankful L did pretty well sleeping there! ...and then back to his usual routine last night and he slept worse. What the heck, L?!
We put up our Christmas tree and decorations yesterday, which always helps my mood. I love having the tree lights on and the rest of the lights dim. Feels so warm and cozy.
I am so ready for this short week to be over so we can enjoy some good food and time with our families. I’m a little nervous about sleeping in 2 different houses over 3 nights, but hopefully he’ll do just as well as he did at our friend’s. He definitely does better if we manage his napping schedule well, but I’m sure that will go out the window with so much going on over the holidays.

I haven't been around much. Work has been insane, but that seems to be wrapping up with some successful events checked off last week.
DH took a new job in September that has turned out to be a massive mistake and he is miserable. He is interviewing now for something else that seems amazing, and closeby, so I've got my fingers crossed. We're willing to take on a pay cut if it means he is home more, and happy.
L is freaking adorable and I just want to hang out with her all day. A is doing awesome in school and is super excited for the holidays.
I'm looking forward to a 5 day Thanksgiving break even if it means spending 5 days at my parents'. Looking forward to a big holiday with my family with amazing food that I don't have to cook. Lol. I'm responsible for two things: champagne and the signature cocktail. OKAY THEN. I started infusing vodka with cranberries last week for cranberry orange mules.

We are still house-less and on day 4 at MIL’s. It is going ok. The baby’s sleep is both better and worse in with us- he still wakes at 9 but settles back to sleep and then goes til 2 before needing a feed! But naps are a shit show. There’s always a dog barking or too much light or something.
The worse thing I’m finding is that H and I have zero time to just chat just us. We usually do that when the kids are in bed and when we go to bed but now we have MIL hanging with us at all times then we go to bed and have to be silent because baby.
MIL is using H as her personal live in handyman which is fine and we knew would happen but it’s a lot. This was the straw that broke the camels back when he still lived at home when we were first dating and looking for a house (he moved home when his dad died to help his mum and then stayed to save for a house and she got very very reliant on him for everything).

I’m usually a staunch “Christmas decorating comes after thanksgiving” person, but this year if we didn’t have O’s baptism this weekend I would have already decorated the whole house! As it is DD has a tiny Christmas tree up in her room already😏

As it is DD has a tiny Christmas tree up in her room already😏 I usually am too, but since we’ll be traveling for thanksgiving and Christmas this year, I wanted to be able to enjoy the actual act of decorating without feeling rushed and be able to enjoy the decorations for a decent amount of time. I am an even more staunch “decorations come down ASAP after New Years” person, so I’d rather start early.

I hope you guys find a house soon nevertoomanyshoes. I know when my mom and MIL were here after L was born, it was really difficult for me and H to have any time to talk or just be together. I mean, we had a newborn so free time was hard to come by anyway, but having someone else here made it way harder.

Oooops. I bumped the old thread. I’m sorry ☹️ calendula I hope the interview goes well! Being miserable at work is the absolute worst. Any refs for baby eczema? DD2 has the worst dry skin and little eczema patches. I’m switching all her stuff to cetaphil (the only stuff that doesn’t make my eczema flare up) but I’m not sure at what point I should take her to the pedi. She doesn’t have an appointment for 2 months.

Leaf 🌱 both of my kids have eczema (well, the 2 year old has outgrown it but he still has quite dry skin). I've been using aveeno nighttime balm in the evening after bath, and laroche posay lipikar baume in the day, and the baby's skin is completely under control.

I'm wondering if N is getting her top front teeth. She only drank 2oz before bed last night. I thought she'd be ravenous this morning but she only wanted 5oz instead of her usual 8 🤔

I feel like E's personality has exploded this month and she just understands so much. See also: tendancies for making trouble and temper tantrums.

Leaf 🌱, for E's eczema we put a good thick lotion on it then aquaphor on top of that. If we do that every night religiously, it helps. With N, I read something that if you coat the baby in vaseline every night for their first 6 months, it's supposed to prevent eczema. It was annoying AF and if it doesn't work I'm going to be annoyed.

I caught the virus N and E had because E decided to be funny and sneeze DIRECTLY into my mouth. I feel badly making the girls KOKO the way they did with this virus because it is NOT FUN. I'm not sure if it's just a really gnarly cold or the flu.
I was supposed to make a cheesecake for thanksgiving at my ILs and then cinnamon buns for us tomorrow morning, but I don't know if I have it in me to do either.

On vacation here. So far so good. Dd3 has had two massive meltdowns, but ds is just going with the flow. He’s sleeping with me so I’m sure we will have some sleep training to do when we get home. He is so close to crawling, which is giving me lots of feels. He’s getting so big!

I picked L up from daycare today just as he was finishing up some food. I couldn’t believe my eyes when he sat there calmly and let the girl wipe his face. He acts like it’s absolute torture when I wipe his face at home.
Also we’re leaving for my parents at bedtime tonight. It’s a 3 hour drive and then we’ll transfer him to the pnp. I really hope this doesn’t screw up our sleep training progress.

N completely refused her bedtime bottle tonight. That's the 3rd or 4th night in a row it's been difficult. She went to sleep fine, as usual. Can babies just up and wean themselves from the bedtime bottle at this age? DS was so attached to his bedtime bottle at didn't stop it until he was 20 months.
Her 3 daytime bottles have been fine so it doesn't seem to be a general feeding issue 🤷♀️

We’re in the states- I surprised H with a trip to Nashville for his 30th birthday and when I booked, forgot about thanksgiving. So most everything is closed. We’ll see what we can find to do today.
Happy thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
DS1 was born Thanksgiving Day in 2013, so it will forever be my favorite holiday. His birthday so be on Thanksgiving Day again next year. DS2 slept through the night for the first time in weeks last night. I think it is because my parent’s house is warmer than ours. He probably gets cold at our house since our upstairs doesn’t heat well.

Anyone else dealing with 8 month sleep regression/leap bull shit? I remember this with DS1 but ughhhhh. DS2 is doing this fun thing where he won’t go to sleep/wakes up, screams, but won’t be consoled when you pick him up. So I have to try to settle him in the crib which takes forever and isn’t always effective. He won’t put himself back to sleep after a feed either now just cries. It sucks and I’m exhausted.
