People need to keep any and all comments on pregnant women’s size to themselves. Hard stop. Word. If I hear one more stranger comment on my "little" or "tiny" bump... When they don't even know how far along I am... It certainly looks and feels big enough to me! And Ute is measuring 2-3 weeks ahead! WTH. Yes, exactly. Regardless of whether you’re commenting on the bigness or smallness, it’s inappropriate and never going to make someone feel good. Either say “you look great!” or say nothing at all, and move on. I have strong feelings about this lol

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
Ours was very short and uneventful. The kids watched a lot of TV (because it was too frigid to do anything outside) and we went to my ILs’ house at 5 and were home by 8. Neither of them ate any dinner ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
MH drank too much I think because when he came to bed he was snoring so loudly and sleeping so heavily that I couldn’t turn him. I finally had to go downstairs and sleep on the recliner. At least I know I will get zero resistance from him if I want to take multiple naps today!
We have Christmas music on, the kids are doing a puzzle together, and I’m about to make pumpkin pancakes for breakfast. Later I think we may go get our tree and decorate it with the littles. We need to buy DS a new bed this weekend but that can wait until it’s not literally Black Friday.

dashook sounds like a lovely relaxed holiday! Minus the snoring lol. Woke up weighing 4 pounds more than I have been lol. Imagine that's more so sodium than actual Thanksgiving weight gain! Big project yesterday was baking a beautiful Apple pie! Resting up this morning then hope to surprise DH by clearing more crap out of the baby's room, dealing with all the clutter that's built up in the living room, and maybe pulling out some Christmas decor. Trying to pump up the energy! Looking forward to baby care class at hospital tomorrow!

I got this strange rash on my arm last night. It looks like PUPPS, right?

notagoddess oh I'm so sorry! I hope it's not! When I thought I had it (turned out to be bed bug bites, ew) the many photos I saw all looked angrier and more uneven then your rash, but I'm sure there's a range... Hope you can get in to be checked soon!

Sorry that I've been MIA! I left my phone charger at work and had to wait until today to retrieve it.
Thanksgiving went fairly smoothly. We had brunch at my ILs but had to wait an extra hour to eat because my BIL and his family didn't show up until that late so everyone was getting pretty hangry. I'm still irritated with them. Almost every function or dinner or whatever has to be based on their schedule or they won't show up but even when we do everything to fit their decided time, they still can't be bothered to be on time for it and sometimes they just no-show.
But after that we went home and H and the boys took naps. I was going to but my SPD was bothering me so much, I didn't want to lie down so I took a bath and watched Netflix until it was time to start prepping for dinner with my parents.

One of the ladies who runs a playgroup my boys attend has told me the last couple of weeks that I'm looking "really large." 😳😒🤔 Ohhhkay... I'm in 3rd trimester with my 3rd baby, have a small-ish frame to start with, and am carrying it pretty much like I shoved a basketball up my shirt, so... 🤷♀️ On the other hand, I've already gained 25-30lbs, so maybe I am getting large. Hmmm. A coworker said the same thing to me last week. Thanks, Captain Obvious. 🙄 I’m short and small-framed as well, so there’s really nowhere for the belly to go but out. I just said, “Yep, and I’m only going to get bigger.” Another coworker commented on my breakfast donut recently. I just gave him a death glare and he moved along. I’ve already told him my thoughts on the food shaming. People can be asshats.

dashook I’m late, but glad to hear that everything went well!! notagoddess Eesh. I hope that it’s just some dermatitis or something and not PUPPS. I had it with DS closer to the end, and I was so very miserable. Keeping my fingers crossed that it clears up for you!

We picked out and decorated our Christmas tree last night. So fun!! We’re having a few friends over tonight to watch the football game so MH is currently smoking a pork butt and brisket. The house smells so spicy since we’ve also been cooking our habanero hot sauce all day! Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend! 🦃🍁🎄

cch, We decorated the tree last night, too! We've gotten real trees the last couple years but H got tired of listening to me sneeze and be generally miserable because I have a pine allergy (not to mention the mess because the cat would strip the lower branches) so we're borrowing my parent's fake tree since we host Christmas anyway. H must have really been in the mood though because he even set up our inflatable lawn rocking horse lol Today has been pretty low key. I picked up donuts and took the kids to my parents and we started watching that Netlix cooking show The Final Table while my mom made breakfast burritos. Then, DS1 brought out the Christmas Bingo game my mom picked up and we played a few rounds. Now, he and my dad are outside finishing up the Christmas decorations and DS2 is nomming on a donut while my mom is making red chile and we have a holiday accapella station playing on Pandora. There's still a ton of family drama in my family but I've been in more of a Christmas mood than I have in what feels like forever.

We just cleaned out our basement today and I’m so freaking excited to have a functional playroom. We’ve been awful at just shoving ALL the things down there for 6 years

Looks great TashaLa!! I seriously need to go through all the boys things and throw/donate stuff to make things less chaotic in their playroom. Oooh. H surprised me this weekend. We used to mutually agree 4 kids was our ideal family size but with financial stresses over the last few years, H changed his mind and said he didn't even want 3 kids (he's since changed his tune about the 3rd, obviously lol) and definately not 4. Anyway, since we've been getting everything squared away and, assuming nothing huge happens to set us back, we should be out of debt in the next couple years, he's been a lot less stressed about paying for college for the kids. He even mentioned off-handedly to my parents that he hasn't ruled out having a 4th kid and I think he actually meant it.

@amc, I haven't been 100% sure yet in either direction. I think I'm going to have to wait and see how it feels after this baby arrives. So I'm treating this like my last pregnancy but it might not be. The morning sickness always sucks so much it makes me never want to do this again but then I get past it and I'm like, pregnancy isn't so bad, pains and all lol

My H was very strict on wanting 1 kid and I was way more open minded. Now that I'm pregnant, our tunes have changed 🤦♀️ i'm pretty sure I want to be one and done and he's gone to "let's see how it goes."

Sorry. Lurking:) Foxy This is EXACTLY me and SO. He wasn't even sure he wanted kids and I wanted at least 2. Then we had DD and I was definitely OAD. But SO started every conversation once she turned 1 by telling me about someone else who just had another baby. Eventually I changed my tune and now that DD is almost 5 I'm so excited for a second. But if he hadn't been pushing for it I'm not sure I would have even thought to try again:)

It's been a process to shift from always wanting 3-5 kids to getting realistic that we're becoming parents a bit later in life (I'm 33, DH is 38). Pregnancy has been a bit harder than we expected (physically, emotionally with the losses and bleeding, financially it's been a wake up call, and the way it changes my body), so we both surprised ourselves by leaning really hard toward being one any done.
Now I'm feeling kind of disappointed in the idea of an only and am afraid that we'll end up making that choice for practical reasons, but that it will not feel like our family is complete. Still, it's helpful reading all your experiences, because I imagine once we're settled as parents DH may be more open to having another if I want to.
I feel like guys are always just where they are now, while we women tend to be able to look more to the future and realize our circumstances and feelings may change... Like until they're ready to get married now, they are freaked out by talk of marriage lol!

We definitely want another one. But we are having some tough realizations about the expenses involved. I’m actually feeling kind of bummed this weekend. Daycare is just crazy expensive and I’m not sure how we are going to make it work. Combined that with I have my 3 hour sugar test tomorrow I feel stressed and blah. I’m prepared to fail and worried the test is going to make me feel really crappy. Sigh.

strawberrykiki if it makes you feel any better they don't even do the 1 hour here anymore since so many people fail. Everyone goes immediately to the 3 hour. k I'm doing well:) Thanks! We lucked out and amazingly got pregnant our first cycle trying again after the D&C so I'm just about 9 weeks now. I decided to keep my RE appointment that I had rebooked after our loss in the summer, just in case, so they ended up doing an ultrasound there when I was 7+0 and we saw a little bub measuring exactly 7+0 with a heartbeat of 141:) So far so good! I have another scan this Thursday at 9+0 so I'm hoping things are still looking good at that point. I lurk all of you constantly and can't wait to start seeing birth announcements and pictures in a couple of months!

Hi ladies! Sorry I was MIA too, had company all last week and at this point I'll just skip the check-in and do tomorrow's! We did gifts from the boys to each other in the hospital, and will do so for this baby. The boys will pick out a stuffy like theirs for her and I'm still figuring out what she's going to give to them. Possibly Legos because I've bought so many and it would keep them busy/quiet for my folks while we're recovering in the hospital... not the most sentimental of gifts but frankly they wouldn't know how to appreciate something like that anyway! dashook, so glad the surgery went well! strawberrykiki, good luck tomorrow. I'm sorry the 1 hour went poorly. If it is any consolation I had the same reaction after I bombed my test the first time. FWIW, I was well over 200 at the 1 hour (with all three of my babies) and aside from my second being rather large, I've had zero issues or complications related to the GD. I've been able to be diet controlled thus far through all pregnancies and am hopeful to continue with this one. My placenta held up beautifully. First baby was 8 lbs 1 oz, second was 9 lbs 13 oz, this one is measuring great so far so I'm hopeful she actually won't top her brothers. The extra monitoring is a comfort, too. For tomorrow's test, don't eat pancakes or high carbs for breakfast. Have some good protein - eggs, etc. - and avoid carbs. You're not tricking the test by doing this, believe me your body will respond to the test. BUT having pancakes or a bagel or mocha or things like that could elevate your blood sugar and then going right into the test in that condition could easily result in a false positive. I'm an old hat with this so if tomorrow goes poorly, feel free to PM me if you have questions. Hugs!

hrh thank you so much! They told me not to eat anything 12 hours before 🙄 But I didn’t eat anything before last time and bombed it. I had ice cream the night before right before bed but I doubt that did it. I’ll just be happy to know for sure at this point.

strawberrykiki gotcha, I forgot they did a fasting one. It's been a long time since I took the three hour because I fail the first one so badly I didn't have to do the three hour this pregnancy or my last! That will be accurate then. The ice cream would have been long out of your system by the time you tested. Still hope it was a random fluke for you! FX for you tomorrow. ❤️
