How old is your LO?
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going?
0-3 mo Getting through growth spurts okay?
4-8 mo How do nights look?
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going?
9-12mo Do you have a BF goal and has it changed since LO was a newborn?
Questions/AW?
GTKY: what is a food you love but never cook?

How old is your LO? 5 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing, supplementing with formula. It's working out well, where his appetite is so big.
4-8 mo How do nights look? Ehh, they've been a little rough lately. He's been waking up every 2ish hours to feed, and I'm pretty sure it's mostly comfort eating.
Questions/AW? I have to hold my breast up otherwise it's too big and falls out of his mouth, even with a proper latch. Any ideas of what I can do so I can have at least one hand free?
GTKY: what is a food you love but never cook? Hrmm, good question. Pie I guess? Since I can't make pie dough to save my life lol. I'm pretty skilled in the kitchen, so if I want something I'll just make it.

Nah, still 1 year
Questions/AW? Only 27 more pumping/bottle days! Also I nursed the baby with him sitting next to me on a theme park ride this weekend. It was pretty funny.

How old is your LO?: 4.5 months Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going?: Nursing at home on demand and pumping 3x a day at work. It's all going fine. 4-8 mo How do nights look?: we bedshare with DS3. he wakes up several times a night to nurse but goes right back to sleep. we transitioned DS2 to the crib (still in our room, though) at around 1 year so i hope to be able to do that with DS3. If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going?: Being at work is okay but the mornings and evenings are hard. GTKY: what is a food you love but never cook?: I make pretty much everything, but with the kids around I don't want to deep-fry anything at home-- so french fries and fried chicken are out. But I profoundly enjoy the chicken sandwich and fries at shake shack. Speedy, are you using a nursing pillow? maybe try a different, firmer one? nurse side-lying in bed? laid-back nursing? if you have a recliner that's an easy way to do the latter two.

Happy holidays!
How old is your LO? 13w
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing
0-3 mo Getting through growth spurts okay? Yes. Still feel like I never make enough, but he’s gaining so we will see what doc says at his 4 month next month.
Questions/AW? Getting longer stretches out of him at night in his own crib. My back was starting to burn from co-sleeping so it’s nice to have at least one stretch where I can be comfortable.
GTKY: what is a food you love but never cook? It’s a sauce, hollandaise. I have tried a few times at home and just can’t perfect the right tang like they do in restaurants.

vvvvvfee we sometimes use a pillow but generally he just hangs out in my lap (I tend to sit cross legged all the time lol). I might see if a firm pillow helps. He does okay side lying in bed, and sometimes I'll lay on the floor with him, but we just moved and literally I just have Swedish chair in my living room right now lol. He is getting close to sitting independently so I'm thinking that might help.

How old is your LO? 4m
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing and pumping at work
4-8 mo How do nights look? They still suck. He's up at least 3 times lately
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? Other than exhaustion, it's going fine. He comes with me a couple of days a week, which is really nice.
Questions/AW? I keep getting clogged ducts on the left. I'm taking lecithin, using hot compresses, nursing and/or pumping frequently. Any other tips?
GTKY: what is a food you love but never cook? I'm a decent cook, but just don't have the time anymore so most everything, baked goods in particular.

mirabelle a firm body pillow behind my back or making my partner lean against me helps when bedsharing is wearing down my back. PennyCandy clog in the same place? Possible culprits: bra, sleep position, where you carry your diaper bag/purse, baby carrier strap putting pressure there..?

How old is your LO? A little over 2 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing on demand. I have a tiny freezer stash pumped (just like 20oz), and he’ll take a bottle of that if for whatever reason I’m not with him.
0-3 mo Getting through growth spurts okay? Seems to be, although I definitely notice more wake ups during them.
Questions/AW? Lately when DS wakes up to eat he wakes up screaming and is too mad to nurse right away. I know the problem is that he’s hungry but it takes 10 or so minutes to get him calm enough to latch. Then he eats and goes right back down. It doesn’t happen during the day. Anyone else having this problem? Any tips?
GTKY: what is a food you love but never cook? Sushi. I love it but I’m not brave enough to try to make it.

How old is your LO? 5 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Pumping while at work & nursing when not at work
4-8 mo How do nights look? He had been sleeping through the night but I got a stomach bug a few weeks ago and he has been up once a night since then. He’s been so exhausted and napping so poorly with the holiday the past few days that he did sleep through the night twice.
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? Transition went well thankfully. Pumping is a challenge with my crazy work schedule but I’m doing the best I can. Unfortunately I’ve been pulling from my freezer stash a lot since having a stomach bug a few weeks ago.
GTKY: what is a food you love but never cook? Roast

Anyone else having this problem? Any tips? That’s hard. Is he in your room so you have a chance for any early stirring/movement/hunger cues could wake you? Would maybe turning on a dim light help him focus on you? Hope this phase passes quickly!

This has been a super hard week. DS2 got a stomach virus and has been throwing up since last Sunday. We managed to avoid the hospital for dehydration by -nursing very short sessions (30-90 seconds on the worst days) frequently -double pumping before any longer sessions (bedtime) or if it had been a long time between nursing sessions (first thing in the morning) to ensure low volume & slow flow -supplementing pedialyte per doctor’s instructions
An infant going 12+ hours without a wet diaper is scary. So thankful breastmilk is an acceptable liquid during a stomach virus & so thankful for a pump to maintain and manage my supply.
-
How old is your LO? - 5mo
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? - back to just nursing on demand. He only threw up once yesterday, and only twice the day before.
4-8 mo How do nights look? - good. He has two common patterns: Wake at 11, nurse, then wake at 5. or Wake at 2-3, nurse, then wake at 7.
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? - SAHM
GTKY: what is a food you love but never cook? - fried shrimp

lily, sorry about the stomach virus, that sounds really scary! Yes he’s in our room, in his bassinet right up against my side of the bed. I’m a heavy sleeper though so it’s totally possible I’m missing some early cues. I’ll try the dim light, hope it’s just a phase.
