Thankfully this week seems to be moving quickly for me. I have a lot scheduled at work, so that helps.

It's the first day of summer and we have a relatively cool one on tap. High 72...which is perfect for me, but a little cooler than the norm.

I woke up with a headache. Blahhh DS is back to watching Goosebumps. Ughh It's like I have an old school 80s/90s kid over here. Scooby Doo, Ghostbusters, Goosebumps. It's cute but the music/sound effects hurt my head right now. Luckily it's almost time to leave for camp.

I remember the books, though I never read them b/c they were for kids younger than me. I did read all the R.L. Stine books that were geared for my age group.

It's nephews last day with us! The kids are so sad. They're playing on the Wii while I finish packing him up.
I'm following their leads today as far as what they want to do. It's been fun having him- and so many memories made.
Tomorrow with just DS and niece will be so quiet. Two more days til my trip with SO and no kiddos!

Several of us were very close growing up. You must be so excited for your adults only trip!

You guys! The Goosebumps show was the bomb! lol I remember watching it when I was a kid. I think it was on pbs. We didn't have cable growing up so it was on one of the channels you could get with the ears.

I ran some errands after dropping DS off. He's being so dramatic at drop off though. The playground at the school is under construction so before they blow the whistle & meet in the gym they just congregate outside. He won't let me leave. No matter how excited he is to leave the house & go to camp & get the day started, once we go he's not interested in these little few minutes of mingling. I kind of get that it's pretty boring & the kids kind of don't know what to do. The counselors just sit down & don't lead. They probably don't care because 1)there's not much to do out there anyways & 2)it's only for a few minutes anyways so DS would rather hang by me & be wishy washy & I also think he's not thrilled to be among the older kids too so we've been leaving the house to get there right at 10 but we'll still get there with a few minutes to spare or the director guy will blow the whistle a few minutes late whatever. Anyways, it's a little annoying. I see these younger kids skipping along without their parents just fine. I could understand if he had a reason but he just whines. There's no coherent conversation but anywho whatever. It's just a few minutes out of my day. Lol

The few times I actually had to drop her off at preschool she would cling to me. It always took one of the teachers to come grab her and and say "come on, lets go play". She also does this when we go to places she isn't familiar with or places with crowds (kids or adults, doesn't matter). Eventually she warms up and will go play, but it takes a while. I think it's the groups of people that make her nervous and I am her safe zone.

In this instance, once the whistle blew & they walked over to the gym his friend found him & he seemed fine after hugging me goodbye. He usually just wants whatever the said activity is to get going. In other cases, he likes transfer of power so if teachers, camp counselors, coaches, etc ignore him, it probably affects his level of comfort. If they greet him, then he feels ready to go, he did this in school too in the beginning. Only child quirk? Lol

Thanks misspeansmama! We grew up overseas and away from family so my best memories of summer was the time we spent with our cousins back here in Ohio. I have my local nieces/nephews often too. I love having all of them! But, I'm so excited for some adult only time this weekend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This week has been crazy at work, so I'm sorry I haven't been checking in. I got my hair cut tonight while DH took B to karate. It's short and I'm in a minor state of shock. I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Hey, it's almost 1 am and I'm still awake for whatever reason.
Today (well yesterday technically) was nice. We went to the children's museum in the afternoon. They got a new animal at the sanctuary today - a coyote. My son declared her to be "very cute". He says all the animals are cute, though lol. We stayed until animal feeding time, which lasts until about ten minutes before closing. We had a little bit of time at home before D's first swim lesson of the season. As I was getting him dressed, it started pouring out! I had no idea it was supposed to rain. The town's pool is outside so thankfully it stopped minutes before swim lessons started. The water was freezing but none of the kids seemed to care. We signed him up for all the swim sessions the town has so we'll basically be at the pool every evening for the rest of the summer.
Oh, speaking of swimming - I got an awesome deal at the Disney store on Tuesday. It was a Star Wars bathing suit for D, each piece (bottoms and rash guard) was regularly around $23 and I got them each for $5 (and change)! All the suits they had on sale were under $10, not bad for the Disney store. They had an adorable Stitch bathing suit but it was only in baby sizes womp womp
