I’m on a training conference call for something I’ve already done twice. So lame. Listening to my boss talk makes me want to puke, he’s so full of himself. Good thing I’m at home so I can roll my eyes all i want

Potty training boys question. Daycare is attempting to potty train H. I'm keeping him in diapers for now, but what underwear do I need to get him? Did y'all teach them to sit or stand? She said he's sitting and leaning forward because that's what the other boys do in the class. We taught B to sit...easier and less messy. In fact he still sits most of the time at home; mH says he’ll use a urinal if they’re available when DH takes him to the bathroom. We put him in regular underwear; they do make thicker/more absorbent training pants but I didn’t know about those for B so he never had any 🤷🏻♀️ I did get some for C, though. I think they were Gerber brand.

We tried sitting with my oldest because that’s what my daycare lady said to do and it did not work, he would not go for anything. Then he saw his cousin who is 11 months older go standing and he thought it was awesome and he went right away. It is way better for public bathrooms for sure. With T I went right with standing.

Morning from somewhere in NC! I feel like our family theme song is “On the Road Again”. DH had to go into work for a bit so we didn’t get away til almost 10. Tomorrow we have a wedding, then we’ll be celebrating C’s birthday on Sunday with my family. A couple more days to relax in FL before driving back up to SC for Thanksgiving with mH’s family. I hope everyone affected by all the wintry weather stays safe and warm this weekend. kim22 You are officially Superwoman!

He also sat backwards sometimes at first. I don't recall why. Jealous that they are potty training him!

S still sits most of the time too. I would prefer for him to stand in public bathrooms, but I guess I don't care enough to actually do anything about changing it.

M did that for awhile from watching baby Michael do it that way on youtube. I'm really loving his new teacher. I was worried at first but she's been pretty great. Although I'm pretty sure this is all about H just wanting M&Ms...

Another downside of Play-Doh from the conversation yesterday is Cass eats it. She is so used to me scolding her about it she usually tries to assure me before I even say anything that she's not eating it. Chase licks the lids. He doesn't eat it outright, but clearly he likes the flavor. Certainly not the weirdest thing he does.

Re: potty training
Colin's preschool teacher got the boys standing pretty quickly and he's never looked back. Chase is interested in standing but he's SO not there yet, so sitting it is. We're just going to order a couple multi-packs of Mickey underwear (or that general idea) from Target because that SORT of seems to interest him. We're thinking of naked time next weekend but I don't see it going well, to say the least!

Also hi! I'm working from home because I wasn't sure how the roads would be, and I'm only working in the morning anyway. I actually already baked my cupcakes while on mute during a call, so they'll be cooled and ready for decorating when I sign off. I *may* even have a little free time to relax, though I'm not holding my breath.
Colin had a 2 1/2 hour delay so I let the boys sleep in and got them to daycare about 45 minutes later than usual. This weekend is the end of the soccer season and Colin's party, so they were both giddy about it being the end of the week. I just hope I have enough energy!!

I'm so glad the winter storm didn't reach up to this area. Don't need anything impacting getting home. I'm so excited to be out of here tomorrow! I miss my kiddos. guster Princess Switch is on my list. I wasn't sure it was released yet. Might download that for the plane. I always have a weird mix of still watching horror movies I didn't get to see prior to Halloween in NOV, but also watching all the cheesy Christmas movies. Stay warm to those of you affected by the storm! I think it might’ve been released today. Very very cute!

She said he's sitting and leaning forward because that's what the other boys do in the class. We did sitting and I taught him how to push down on the fat above his penis so it points down. Leaning forward accomplishes the same. He has worn boxer briefs since being trained.

It helps that she is very verbal.

Morning! Safe travels! flamingokim22 You make my life sound like a cake walk. You deserve a medal, lady. And wine, lots of wine. tgrimes exactly what vino said. I loved the gerber potty training pants for first learning. M wanted to stand like dad, so I just put a towel under the potty seat to catch all the pee spray that didn’t make it into the seat. Lol.

I know it’s snowing up north, but I am cold here in Alabama. 30s and 40s is not ideal. My mom is on her way for a quick weekend visit. Perfect timing since this is MHs last away game weekend. Glad to have help. I just hope M2 won’t cling to my leg like he did all last weekend. I don’t know why, but he has chosen now to have separation anxiety and anyone other than who lives with him gets a very cold shoulder from him. I hope it’s a phase and is over quickly.

Same here. I still sometimes use a pull-up to go out, but Charlie treats them as underwear.

So last night I went out with friends. I found out that the one who sells LLR has $20k wholesale cost of inventory in her house. The other friend has bought about 25 of her 30 pairs of Rothy's. If she paid around $100 for each she paid $2500 for shoes in 8mos. Feeling pretty good about my life decisions right now and totally being judgey.

She said he's sitting and leaning forward because that's what the other boys do in the class. sit and point it down. I used the portable potty more at the start and then the actual potty. Some have the boys sit backwards on the toilet. eta i just got a bunch of character tighty whitey style. You could even use some of M's if you kept any of the smaller ones. also for standing you might tell him to put his legs against the toilet and lean a little. I think that might help at the beginning. Also schools usually have little potties for the age and that might not transfer to normal sized toilets

flamingo and lahdeedah You girls are too kind, I’m really just watching Fixer Upper and removing C from the coffee table that he keeps climbing up on. DH now has a ticket for a mid afternoon flight to Pittsburg with a maybe connection to Newark. I have to admire his perseverance to get home. I’d probably just kept my ticket for tomorrow and found something fun to do today (says me who rarely leaves a 2 mile radius from home.)
