I took the day off yesterday and it was nonstop but so fun. Swim lessons, our favorite cafe for lunch, Wonder Woman at the theater, playing at our park, tae kwon do, a magic show in the park, and a little grocery shopping.
I actually wore the girls out. 😄
Wonder Woman was great. I'm so over most super hero movies because they are all the same. This one was so good though. Maddie seemed extra dedicated to her training at tae kwon do. 🤣

Hi! First steps! nam2013 Glad you got to witness them! mamabear M slept in the RNP a number of nights and was fine. I have it out and ready to go for this kid! Love that thing. I also stashed my pump parts in the fridge. Everything went on a big ziploc bag in a lunch bag so it was concealed in the fridge. Parts were washed at home.

Hey all- 2 baby related q's: Are rock n plays considered safe for nighttime sleep? I keep reading mixed reviews. For those that pumped- did you wash parts in between pumping sessions or refrigerate them? With DS i rinsed and used medela wipes every single time but I'm reading about ppl refrigerating and would love to save time...if it is safe? Sent from my LG-K371 using Tapatalk 1) S slept in his for the first 10 or 11 weeks then I moved him to his crib. B never slept in his bc he didn't like it. From what I've read, the danger is for flat heads (I can't remember the real term). I had no problems with S. I think it's important if they do sleep in it at night to make sure they get a variety of other positions during the day. 2) I refrigerate during the day then wash at night. I did extensive reading about it and they said milk is safe in the fridge all day so it's safe. Advice? Take it out 10 - 15 minutes before you are going to pump or it's very cold on your boobs, which, for me, makes it harder to pump.

At work. It's steady, but not a crazy day. Nothing new to report. Trying to tie up loose ends and remember if there is anything else I need to order online.
Anyone use ring slings here? I have 2 heavier wraps, but would like something more lightweight and less material since it will be hot until Nov. Pros? Cons? Good brands?

Also, like others, I LOVED my RnP. I was so sad that B never liked his. S started sleeping in it at like 5 or 6 days old. He slept in it swaddled and unswaddled. I also used it for about 50% of his naps during the day. I slowly transitioned him to more crib naps a few weeks before moving him there at night.
I had serious love for my RnP. It was, without a doubt, my favorite baby item.

Hi everyone. B's fever finally broke overnight last night. MH stayed home with him, and since he's been away for basically the last 9 months it should be ... interesting. I had to leave him a schedule like he was a babysitter, but he's literally never stayed with him before. He just texted me that he's doing well. At least tomorrow he can go back to DC!

I think the concerns raised have to do with getting a flat spot, which neither of my girls have/had. I refrigerated my parts between sessions in a gallon ziplock bag. It's safe because the milk left on the parts is staying cold. I washed every night after I got home from work.

The first was a chambray Sakura bloom and then one by fidella. I like both for different reason, and I still have the fidella and will use it for short periods of time. Next time around I want to get a wildbird sling. They have such pretty colors and are much cheaper than the SB.

Hi. We ran to the chiropractor then the playground now Z is napping. Later I'll probably take the kids swimming at our gym pool if the weather is still good. inthekitty I love hearing about what you and the girls are up to. I look forward to when my two are those ages because it seems like it's so fun. So many new activities when they are just a little bit older.

lahdeedah here is some little baby in RS pics. My only regret is that I didn't get one before she was born. PDQ *poof* Oh I just remembered another thought. Get yourself a water sling. They are the best. Last summer I wore S in the sling and could chase H around the pool. The one I have is beachfront baby.

Swimming lessons were not cancelled. I'm glad I didn't have to go in the water though because it was like 67 degrees out, brr!

joelies I'm sure you'll look gorgeous no matter what! @vinolove it is always, I repeat ALWAYS, to early for slim shady. flamingo I know you pain... luckily ds can be bribed with candy these days. mamabear I refrigerate between pumps. I figured if the milk stays fine, why not? I've also tossed the parts in my medela cooler, it's a squeeze, but with just two bottles, it fits. inthekitty happy anniversary!

My orientation was super short this morning. I'm officially starting Friday! First job in like 7 years! 12 hour shifts, so I may be questioning what the hell I'm doing to myself once I get started. I've always worked 12s but it's been a hot minute! And I also didn't come home to a family afterwards....

KP 4 lyfe I think ring slings are a waste of money UNLESS you have a baby that's on the small side. You carry all the weight on one shoulder which becomes really uncomfortable really fast. Another good use for a ring sling - when you need a quick up and down - like running into a shop for one item. If you think you'll be doing something like this often it could be a worthwhile buy. I personally think a SSC meets this need better and is a whole lot ore comfortable for long term use.

Btw the local crunchy baby store here is going to be carrying KPs very soon. You know the owners, right?

lahdeedahI'm also not sure how much/how long term you want to be babywearing. I didn't stop wearing V until shortly after his 3rd birthday. Always in a KP ❤ ring sling was always too killer on my shoulder with a chunky baby.

lahdeedah I love my moby, dus if does feel warm during summer time sometimes. ETA I have 6 different carriers. The only one I don't use is the banana style one. Like @cshov said, they hurt once they get bigger. Plus you have to watch very carefully that they don't 'sink in/curl up' to much an risk suffocation.

Maybe it was that night I couldn't sleep and did some online shopping... Tell us what you got! The suprise orders were tommee tippee ultra bottles and a carters order. I bought H a polo & jammies & M a dress & jammies. Other things I bought that night included a shit load of disney movies, shorts & tees from old navy (FOR MYSELF, Y'ALL!), & some toms for M.

Yeah, the ring sling vs. SSC debate really depends on how big of a baby you have. If you have a big enough baby, you can use an infant KP pretty quickly. If you have a smaller infant, a ring sling will do. Edit to add: infant KP minimum weight/length 8 lbs and 22"
