polson DS didn't start recognizing letters and numbers except for his name until recently and he's 3.5.

polson my DD is 3 1/2 and straight refuses to sit and learn any letters. She knows the three in her name and that’s pretty much it. I’m not really sure what to do about it. Know you’re not alone. DS1 knows the alphabet song and knows some letters and numbers. He will be 4 in March and has been in full time daycare/preschool since he was 2.5 and I am not concerned. Maybe I should be?

I don't know that I'd be concerned but I kind of wonder what the preschool is doing? E turned 3 in July and her preschool gave us a report of her ability in ~40 areas, including letter/number recognition. I feel like they should be working on that with him.

Arrgghhh. L has a fever again after just finishing his antibiotic last night. We have been without power since 8:30 this morning. If it doesn’t come back on soon, we’re going to have to figure out where we’re going to stay tonight because it will be too cold to stay here. And we were just making some progress with sleep training. And if I lose all my frozen milk, I will die.

It is mainly a daycare so only preschool learning for part of the day. My H's opinion is that DS1 knows more than he is letting on and being his defiant 3 year old self when I ask him what a letter is. He was slow with speech and then blossomed to the point of people being surprised he was a late talker so it might be the same with this.

Baby Mermaid just spit up her morning dose of antibiotics. I’m actually surprised it took this long. Her snot has improved so much. I’m so glad I took her in.
